Hard landing at Bilbao Airport

LH 1144, Sunday 20/4/2014, the Captain (or the FO) decided to treat us to a nice bouncer, out of a perfectly normal and smooth approach. The Captain did apologize and explained the reasons for the hard landing, unfortunately, the idiot behind me kept babbling so I couldn't understand a word.

Hard or firm landing is sometimes required or even desired for safety reasons. Specially when there is strong cross wind or the runway is wet. In this case it seems that there was considerable crosswind. Regards
