Based on the timing mark you made during disassembly I would think the timing was likely off by a few degrees. We'll see where that mark ends up in relationship with the mounting hole once it's running and you make the final timing adjustments. Great video once again Chris.
I agree. I think what happened is that the timing was set a few degrees retarded and the cam chain was excessively loose. I think this caused a lot of unburned fuel to go down the exhaust circuit eventually building up and causing the exhaust valve to not seal. Thus I had very low compression when initially tested. We will find out once I get it running. I have not posted the carb rebuild video yet but there is evidence to show is was flooding as well….
