Why you shouldn't mash in Ninja Gaiden and the importance of delayed strings

  • Traditional delay-based combo strings are basically non-existent in Ninja Gaiden. Rarely do they ever appear in a weapon's moves list and they don't typically lead to flashy unique follow-up attacks similar to those found in other Action Games. Despite this, they're still a core component of the gameplay in Ninja Gaiden. I hope this video helps explain why that is.

Funny enough everyone who ever played Master Ninja will agree that the first 8 chapters are harder than the rest of the game.

The first chapter gave me hell when i tried to do a master ninja run ... Until i started to play offense preservably cuz despite the red ninja being able to constantly grab and break ur guard ... The time limit for each encounter is very short so u have to kill them fast

are u going to make more videos like this? I find the lack of in-depth advanced videos for the NG series as a whole kind of disappointing

What’s the best way to play ninja gaiden and ninja gaiden 2? On Xbox and Xbox 360? Also what’s the difference between the ogs and the sigma versions. Sorry for my noob questions, I really loved the nioh series and want to play ninja gaiden.

Playing the vanilla games on Xbox One or Series S/X through retrocompatibility is generally what's recommended, with the PC version of Master Collection being the next best alternative because of mods.
There are several differences between vanilla and Sigma, too many to list here, but they are mostly noticeable in the second game.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, although not without its strenghts, is a very significant departure from vanilla NG2. It plays very differently from the original on a fundamental level because that game went through a pretty dramatic rebalance. It's a fun playthrough on Normal, but the balance on Master Ninja is questionable.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 also has many differences compared to Ninja Gaiden Black, but apart from the most obvious ones like changes in the level design and the ability to play as Rachel in a few chapters, they aren't really going to be noticed by players who are just getting into the games for the first time so, in my opinion, there's no need to worry about it too much.
Really, it's mostly experienced players who are familiar with the quirks of both games that notice them and tend to agree that NGB is more polished, but Sigma 1 is still a very solid game and a good place to start.

@@arkhlon-x Okay sweet! I got a Series X awhile back so I’ll use the backwards compatibility and check out the vanilla games. Maybe I’ll even look for the physicals, since I’m trying to collect 360 games. I think the Sigma’s are on gamepass so I could check those out too. Thanks for the reply!

@@arkhlon-x Also Sigma 2 has the Black mod that tries to make it more similar to NG2.
