This video shows how to fix the problem of slow boot-up with windows 10. This is mostly observed after upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 to Windows 10.
The processes involved in this fix are as follows:
1. Fix the problem of multi-GPU CrossFire configuration by changing the value of the EnableULPS configuration file to 0. This solution is only applicable for computers with AMD multi-GPU CrossFire technology. If you are using some other chipsets, please skip this fix.
2. Turn off processes with high start-up impacts.
3. Disable the fast start-up utility function.
4. Enable the fast start-up again after restarting your computer.
Your computer should start a lot faster.

When you tell people to make a change to their registry you should ALWAYS tell them why! You should explain the change - and what it means. You should have explained that this is the ultra low power setting only for AMD graphics card users. If you don't have an AMD graphics card, you won't even find this setting. But you should explain it and tell people if they have two cards, this will turn one of them off when it's not being used.
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks, I wish I looked at the comments before searching, going to the pc store, and they did not knew the problem also.... (very annoying it's not mentioned in the title >>AMD GRAPHICS ONLY!
turned out, it was a update from windows that was stuck in a loop...
Fixed,
7 seconds boot time now!
@@chashmaemarfat6670 Hmm,but it was good for him on his HP.
Thanks because i wasn't getting anything in my search. Glad I read through.
Thank you I went from almost 5 minutes to 1:30sec very nice.

just dusted off an old HP dv7 laptop for a project, upgraded to WIN-10 and had this issue. Found the video and frankly the ULPS setting fixed it off the bat. U the man!
Windows 10 is the most crappiest operating system i have seen ever and used
My dad used to have a Windows XP and it was better than my Windows 10 Computer. Even my school Desktop is faster than my Laptop.

You speak the truth brother!
@En Sabah Nur Well you can't jump to conculsions because you dont know either dipshit, and desktops are usually more powerful than laptops.
You are an angel man. After upgrade from Win 7 to a clean install of Win 10, I have been struggling with this problem on my HP DV7 for several days now to no avail. I have even reinstalled Win 10 again after completing win update (yea, that stupid). On my DV7 (Intel core i7, AMD Radeon with 2to6 GB memory, 16 GB RAM and Samsung SSD hard drive) it took more than 2 minutes. I first unchecked Fast Boot which accomplished no change in Boot Time. Then I changed multi-GPU Cross Fire configuration to 0
AND
WOW WOW WOW it just took some few seconds so first time i thought I had by mistake put it on sleep instead of restart.
Great, Tanks a lot!

What an absolute legend !
I just went from 3 minutes to load and 5 minutes before anything was clickable after that to just 30 seconds to start !!! 10/10

Rarely have I found a youtube video that made such a huge impact on the performance of my computers. Changing one little registry entry made this old laptop load like a champ on the new SSD I installed. It was loading horribly slow before. Thank you soooo much man!! Great video!
So generous of you!
Rob Kingsbury wow
lol no shit thats what an ssd does makes things faster nothing you did to the computer besides installing the ssd made any impact on the speeds the ssd did all that
despised demon indeed, the date in the pc is different if you looked the detail
Brilliant trick in the registry has made my machine so much better to work with
Great vid. Also after upgrading(or after any update), run 'Disk Clean-up' Press Windows+F, type cleanmgr in the Start Menu's search box and click cleanmgr in the results. Use Windows+R to open the Run dialog, enter cleanmgr in the blank box and choose OK. Way 3: Start Disk Cleanup through Command Prompt. Step 2: Type cleanmgr in the Command Prompt window, and then press Enter. Select the drive to clean, usually 'C', then clean up system files. Then it will run again click delete files. You will be surprised on how much 'junk' files are there.
I've watched several videos to fix my laptop and only this video solved my issue... I recommend this video to whoever has the same issue ..100% helpful!!

the comment is 2 years ago oh lol
After updating to Windows 1903 the problem appeared again. I checked the enabelulps string and the value had changed to 1. I switched it back to 0 and restarted. I suppose I have to repeat that after every major Windows update, but since it's not so often, I can live with that. Thanks again.
I type enableulps the computer searches, finishes the search and the page it's searching for does not come up. Cannot go any further with this fix.
Any reason why that might be?

Hi, I tried searching the Regedit registry and got the result in a separate window as "searched through the registry" and the search did not take me to the window where "enableulps" was located..!! Please let me know why this happens, thanks.

brh I have 1 tb disk space and still it runs slow
it took like about 2 mins to start my laptop previously but now only 25 seconds......it actually works and has a huge impact on startup...
Great tutorial, in my case the problem solved by following the steps in the tutorial and after rebooting a few times with fast boot disabled, enabling it again and leaving it like that. Not sure exactly why but I already had a few days trying to solve it so thanks.

What to do when Windows 10 is restarting from more than 20 minutes?????????

I type Enableulps and enter .. it's showing finished searching through the registry
Great video. The Regedit fix seems to be the most important. On a Toshiba L750 (AMD Processor) loading time was 2 min 50 seconds. The power off fix reduced it by 10 seconds. Changing the ULPS value reduced it by a further 1 min! Enabling FAST BOOT brought it down by another 10 seconds. Overall loading time reduced from 2 min 50 sec to 50 sec. Not too bad for a relatively old laptop.
What have done exactly?
You live?
Thanks for the help... I really needed this registry fix!
Good to know it helped you out Dave, and thanks for the feedback

My laptop is very slow😢😢😢😢😢 i bought it new installed windows 10 genuine ordered from windows
I have not installed even a single software untill now,,, tried almost everything , formatting reinstalled windows cleared everything updated and what so on, still the problem is same😰😰😰😰,
When im searching for the enableulps it is telling me it is finished but it isnt taking me to the file...?
Yeh me to. And power settings are all different. Must of been some updates since 2017 when this was uploaded.
This is for AMD processor
Well I'm amazed! a video that didn't just tell me to turn off startup programs and delete temp files etc.
After a Windows 10 update my system suddenly took 2 hours to start/restart.
Of course I did all the cleanups and fixes - tried a system restore but it failed.
The trick for me was the turning Enableulps off in the registry as you suggested.
As this I believe is only used for AMD multi GPU's and I use Nvidia I never though it would cause an issue.
My hat is off to you.
My system still takes 2 minutes to boot but it's running from an old hard drive so I expect that.
Good to know it helped you out Gerry and thanks for the feedback

Great now it's working fine.
Thank you so much
Good to know it helped you out, thanks so much for the feedback!
What you need to do is uninstall the bad driver and restart the computer. When it restarts windows re-installs a new driver. Here's how I fixed my HP DV7. Open Device Manager, under Display adapters..double click on the AMD adapter, click Uninstall Device. In the pop up window click Delete the driver software for this device, then click Uninstall. My screen went black for about 15 seconds then came back to normal then went black again. At this point I decided to hold the power button and shut it down. When I restarted the computer I went back into Device Manager and found that windows installed a generic driver. Double click the generic driver then click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver. Windows will find the correct driver and install it. My computer boots up super fast now like it did before the windows update that broke the display driver. I think it was the same windows update that messed up my Asus display driver. In that case when the computer went to sleep it didn't wake normal. There where vertical lines and nothing else. I had to hold the power button then restart, uninstall the display driver and reboot for windows to fix it.
jan mark you are great man!!!! Thanks for the help
