Rafa was already 3 time Roland Garros champion before this kid was born
Stealing comments from interviews? Come on!
@@ElAdamskastill interesting
@@ElAdamska who are you again?
@@ElAdamska he just stated a fact. You cant steal facts from anyone. "stealing comments from interviews" lmao you mental
@@ElAdamskadid the interviewer own a fact?? How does that make sense in your little brain. Anyone with the kids date of birth and Nadals French open trophy timeline could tell you that fact. The interviewer didn’t invent the fact and patent it 😂😂😂
For people saying he take advantage of this kid, just remember rafa scored the same result against Alcaraz and one year later he became world n.1. Also remember that 16 y/o Rafa beat Federer and Moya. This is life lesson for this kid and he can capitalize from it very soon
What dumbass said he took advantage of the kid? It's a professional match what was he supposed to do...
True he ca say that he did play agaist one leyend.
I haven't seen any comments about people saying he took advantage? - I think its well understood that you play your best game, no matter who is on the other side - otherwise you disrespect your opponent.
Nah, the young one fought well, but even a Rafa at 50% of his effectiveness when compared to his prime was enough for this score line. Insane
Nardi v djokovic was the other way around tho
More like 15% of Rafa. Even 7, tbh. He looked very slow, unmotivated and low on confidence. Of course you can tell he didn't bother much since his opponent was pretty bad, but this wasn't anywhere near 50% Rafa we know.
@@NLLeFa The kid is not "bad". He's just young and inexperienced. He's a good player.
Hé was terrible, i also didn’t feel his talent unlike other players
@@sandman1347lol he was really really bad
You can tell Blanch has never dealt with a ball as heavy as Nadal's.
Yes for sure. Even Novak says no one hits the ball like Rafa so it’s impossible to practice or prepare for a match with him in that sense.
Apparently he does practice with Alcaraz tho
Yes, true that....
You know Rafa's spin is god-tier when you have to jump to even return his forehands from the baseline. Vamos Rafa!
Nadal is an old man...old men have heavy balls....😒😔
What a lucky young man to play The Legend in a profesional match. He must be so proud forever, no matter what the result
They did an interview to him and he said he learnt watching Nadal playing and even copied his forehand. He probably was super nervious playing his idol + made a dream become true
didn't seems like it at the end, he was just mad...
@@AZ-cj8du mad of what ? not winning ? that would be hilarious , kid was scared shitless , yet ... from a nobody yesterday , today he is "the guy that played with nadal , what a lucky guy!"
@@Giochochu idol? He looked scared and cold at the handshake lol, he probably wanna get outta there as soon as possible

Couldn't even look the beast in the eyes at the end
For reallllll 😩😭
The kid got slutted out by the king
he is scared leave him alone lol
I mean he got obliterated😂😂😂
Next time you encounter a bull, I dare you to look it in the eyes. 🤣
Some of those comments are straight up terrible. Rafa is a legend, but why make hateful comments on a 16 year old player? The kid hasn't had as much experience as most other players on the tour, but he still played as good as he can and that's that. I think it's better to be supportive to new players than to hate on them because they're playing against a much more successful player.
100%
I thought he played extremely well, the shots I saw here.
Lets just enjoy the last professional matches of this sport´s monster. At least or me, this is pretty emotional, I saw and followed his carrer from the very beginning, like 21 years ago. Soooooo much enjoyment and proud.
Blanch is a good player, my god are the comments destructive. He is 16, and has a very good rating and the Wild Card is totally justified. It is just very terrifying facing someone at your first Masters if you are not accustomed to such big events, let alone facing a legend of the game that is celebrating a farewell tour. This was his chance of experiencing this kind of professional level and he will have learned a lot with this match. With a constant progress, he will be in the top 200-300 in the next 3-4 years and hopefully higher :)
it's a huge privilege to play against rafa. what a lucky boy. now he has a cool story to tell his grand children...
He IS the grand child 😂😂
28 grand slams winner Blanch telling his privileged Against rafa to his Grand children
Greatness of Nadal is that Nadal beat moya @ 16. And federer @ 17
There will never be another Monster prodigy like Rafa, not in a century
@AZ-cj8du There literally just was lol. Carlos Alcaraz, the youngest no.1 in history.
@@c3vzn true, Alcaraz gameplay was even more complete compare to young Nada'ls, he maybe has the most vesertile gameplay on the tour right now (maybe second only to Djokovic). But too bad his opponents's are Rafa and Novak lol
@@c3vznAlcaraz was awesome as an 18 year old but Nadal was already an absolute monster at 16/17, especially for his age at the time. They're nowhere close.
@@AZ-cj8du
a century? you know the future?
Blanch did not accomplish anything yet to deserve this wild card. He is not even ITF level yet but hes getting masters wildcard, its insane. There are like 100 players i can name on top of my head that deserved this wild card more. They are just giving out wildcards to anyone these days
And they even put Rafa celebrating thus win like he finally avenged Thompson or something 😂
@user-ll7eb9yd5d you clearly haven't followed Nadals career. At this point with injury after injury, its cause for celebration that he is on the court in his final year.
Blanch plays with Alcaraz regularly, and had reached the semis of both Wimbledon and RG Juniors
@@Jackie-ji2sj so what? Everyone who played a kid after recovering from an injury didn't celebrate it in thus way.
Вайлд кар дали федерации США, решили отдать бланчу.

It's a tennis match, it's not life. And way to roast a very nervous and scared 16 year old.
why do yall get condescending over a 16 year old
He’s a kid…just like you. Except he’s actually doing something with his life
@@divyanshbagga22 Damn you burned that guy a bit too hard 🤣
If i were Blanch I would ask nadal to sign my shirt at the end of the match, and i would show it to my grandchildren
best comment
Blanch can show this video to his grandchildren
I agree. At the very least I would have looked at him, thanked him and smiled. He is acting disappointed. Did he think he could beat him?😂
What a great opportunity for Blanch to play against one of the goats. Something that most of us dream about. Good luck to him.
I don't see any NextGen beating big 3 in their prime..no way. They have been beast for too long, Federer's artistic elegance, Novak's cutting edge precision and Rafa's gritting exhausting killing instincts are unmatched. Feeling blessed.😮😮😮
I am a Nadal fan since 2007 I think and I can tell you There's nothing to be embarrassed about, the kid plays well as it is just the beginning of his pro career. And his opponent is one of the strongest of all time. Good start, Darwin. Keep on
He was playing against the best clay court player on clay. That's something he will never forget.
Nadal fan since 2007 meanwhile this kid was born in 2007, that's crazy
One of the sport`s biggest joys to watch Rafa playing!
This is what happens when you give a wildcard to someone who doesn't deserve it.
Blanch is managed by IMG, who also own the Madrid Open. This is why he was given a wildcard over the hundreds of players who deserve it more than him. What a total embarrassment.
Sport should be a meritocracy.
I thought they were paired by draw
it is a meritocracy as 95 % of the main draw's players are here thanks to their ranking. Yes the wild cards are sometimes unfair, but it's the whole point of having wild cards in tennis, giving the opportunity to young players to play a big tournament if they don't have a ranking good enough to qualify directly or through the qualifications. all big champions went through this WC process.
that’s one of the incentives to sponsoring and pouring millions of dollars into a tournament. if you have a way to have the atp select wild cards off ranking and u have the money yourself to fund the tourney, i’m the sure the atp would love to hear from you. besides, wild cards make for fun stories like hometown heroes and the like, and there are plenty of main draw spot available if players want to earn their way in
I think you just broke the record for the fastest anyone has figured out how to hate an athlete.🤣 Give the guy a chance to break a racket or scream at an umpire or something. Do you complain about all the wildcards or just this one? If you complain about all wildcards then you have a point.
Same case with Landaluce
blanch was hella nervous meeting nadal at the net after the match.
He should've been sent to ATP 250 instead of masters 1000. His performance is so raw compared to WTA player like martina hingis who was already in top 10 with such age
And still, the little head movement before shaking his opponent's hand, that shows gerat respect. I love Nadal.
A practice session for Rafa and taste of the Legend for the youngster
2:51, that cold handshake though. The kid needs to learn how to be warm in the end to a legend he played on the latter's home turf.
this 16 year old is ranked outside the top1000, pretty weird for him to be given a wild card
Wild card for 16 year old who is 1028 in atp rankings just to rafa pass first round in Madrid. Ridiculous
shut up
Agreed. Wild cards should be limited to people in the top 200, or people who have been top 10 in the past and maybe were injured, dropping out of the top 200.
Blanch, es todavía un niño. No se por que ilusionan a los jóvenes con está clase de partidos... Sería mejor que dieran el wild card, a otro joven que ya esté en el ATP tour.
Why was this dude offered a WC? I initially thought he made it through the qualies before appearing in the main draw 1st round. There are 100 players on the Challenger Tour with titles to their name that would actually deserve the WC.
My Hero For Ever !
It was a good heating-up for Rafa, vamos now for the next 💪💪💪🍀🍀🍀
real test begins with alex...
A good learning experience for the kid
Un Placer verte jugar Rafa!!!! Eres el Mejor!!!! ☺
Love my guy Rafa❤️❤️
Congratulations Rafa 👏🥰
The kid is pretty good, I'll give him that. Maybe he will grow and be a top 10 player, who knows ... I can remember how Rafa played at that age. My god ... his court awareness and tactics were like he was 30+ seasoned pro and his movement was something else.
Lmao, what??This kid will never be even in Top 100,lmao
I think that Wild card did more damage than good for this kid, he looked embarrassed at the hand shake
Everybody's been bageled by Rafa on clay. Only damage being done is by dumb fans who are roasting Blanch.
It's called ATP RACE card not a wild card.
16 years old having to play Nadal on clay regardless of his form has to be nerve racking.
Vamos RAFA ❤
A living Legend. Looking good.
RIP! The kid was a sacrificial lamb for nadal by the ATP Gestapo....16 year old Darwin Blanch ranked 1053 is the the lowest ranked player in the whole draw.
Ahahahah atp gestapo, ovo ulazi u upotrebu
A gift for The King of PED.
poor kid, he really didn't deserve this pressure, at centre court...
In a week, kid's gonna remember that Federer and Djokovic got bageled by Rafa on clay and he'll be bragging about how he got to play Rafa.
@@orchidpanda2253 of course, after the match, it's an honour. But in-game, I would melt against all that people, which (logically) are in favour of Rafa.
Felt,Rafa was trying to gift a game to the kid and help avoid the bagel ...
Rafa Tennis is a beauty 🐐🐐🙌
Nadal is recovering from his injuries, some people complaining that the draw was done so he could easily go past the first round. What about Djokovic who almost always gets to the finals without playing a single top ten player 😮
Vamos Rafa❤👌🍀
I guess you can say that you never want to meet your heroes... because then you get absolutely slaughtered by them.... 😂😂😂
alcaraz got served by rafa on clay, on his birthday. He beat him back on clay, same tourney a year later. You should DEFINITELY meet your heroes.
I believe the best is not having heroes, teach young players effort, sacrifice and spirit of fight, then you tell them that the players that they re about to fight are really good players but humans, so the task is difficult but if you persevere you have a little chance to win... Teach this and chivalry and you will obtain young warriors otherwise you will have players without personality that shake in front of the bests
@@nihilus1626 just look what happened to Shapovalov tho...
It looks like Nadal had a complete carte blanche today.
Underrated comment. 😂
The kid wasn't that gracious at the net
darwin and ugos form look rather similar. the lanky lefties is becoming my favorite tennis archetype along with ben
for ppl criticizing the kid, alcaraz had a very similar result against nadal here 3 years ago. Not saying he's gonna be alcaraz but he's 16 give him a break.

Wait what? De Minaur at the second round again?! Two tournaments in a row?! I just want to see Rafa playing somebody else too for a change :(
Un juego solido de Rafael Nadal. El tenia una dominacion grande a lo largo de todo encuentro contra Blanch. La experiencia es la prueba mas importante. Totalmente el rey de la tierra batida.
Why not show a bit more respect during the handshake? You got to play with a legend and you will likely not have another chance. I would be very honored.
Seems like he was honored with his words. Remember he’s 16…
I think the occasion was overwhelming. Playing a legend like Rafa in his first Masters. The crowd cheering and clapping for Rafa on Centre Court. The eyes of the world on him. I'm sure he knew Rafa would win this match but at age 16 with no experience he maybe hoped for a miracle where he would win a few more games than he did but his inexperience and the occasion led to many errors. I think he just wanted to get off that court by the end. But he will recover and come back stronger. That is life.
Young man seem disappointed because of the score line.... He should be playing challengers i guess
He's not even challenger level yet, plus with his ranking he would have to play quails even for challengers, he should stick to juniors or ITF for now
Futures level player
it's so weird that they gave him a wild card for this tourney, like youre saying he should play challengers he'd need a WC for those as well the guys ranked outside the top 1000
@@MrSartorius1 Nike needs to boost Rafa. Nike always pays for best draws etc. media hypes nike users over adidas puma etc. my feeling, not proven, but i feel its that way

Blanch did great to make it to the main draw of Madrid at age 16. But i'm so glad to see Rafa back man. This year is hitting different knowing he's gonna retire

I would have imagined some more words of encouragement from Nadal to the kid at the net
They may be talking in the locker room now. The kid looked petrified at the net.
Tbh as a Rafa fan I was a bit surprised by that as well. Perhaps they were both a little embarrassed by the match up?
Vamos, Rafa!
Bizzare how much this kid looks and plays like Shelton
Gotta enjoy every moment of this while we can!! Vamos Nadal!
I will enjoy when Nadal is 6 feet under.
Blanch got utterly savaged
Incroyable.
It's funny to watch (not judgemental) how the little one has already made some nice shots (i.e. rare). But at the end, when they were "high-fiving" each other, I don't think he realised and appreciated that he had just played for the first and certainly last time against one of the big three, namely King Nadal alongside King Federer. Let's go Spain, let's go Rafa and thank you for letting me experience this - all the best on your further journey in your final year, as likeable as the Spanish people, culture, country and language. Keep up the good work! 🏆♥️🇪🇦🇨🇭🙏
Vamooosss Magic Rafaaaaa 🪄💪✨♾️💜🎾🏆

Honestly that's just sad that such inexperienced players who never even won in challengers are given wildcards. I mean why such privilege. What has he done to achieve that?
