  • Maybe you DO have control of the situation? I give some practical advice and trackside common sense. A little guide which will hopefully make you more confident and less likely to get involved in incidents, even if you didn't cause them.

    1). get into position on the inside line of the turn (always be on the inside for turn one)
    2). Be prepared- expect that there is going to be a problem think ahead and plan
    3). Brake clearly ( ease onto the brake for turn one so the guy behind can clearly see you're slowing down, this is done quickly, milliseconds even but give them enough time to react to your breaking)
    i wrote this incase you guys didn't have time to watch the whole 15 minutes. he goes into way more detail but bottom line is. ITS YOUR FAULT even if you didn't cause an issue. because you didn't follow step 2 if you got hit. you gotta be more aware and prepare for terrible drivers and protect yourself from them (even if that means going a little slower turn 1 to be cautious) its better than going fast and getting crashed.

    Those are great examples! Thank you for your insight 🙏. I’ve gotten thru qualifying after qualifying and I don’t usually have problems, positioning enforcing my line, pulling over, guarding. I mostly have problems turn one. I always see the crash as it’s happening. The victim mentality is bad because then you start to anticipate crashing instead of anticipating a way thru the chaos.

    Main thing is, before TURN IN to T1, You MUST keep Your line (position) that You where forced or You choose. You cant wave like a flag left to right in breaking zone and in turn-in phase. Also exit of T1 its like driving on RAILS. You choose Your track. Stay there.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety

      Yep, I agree 90%. You can move before the corner. But in the corner, it's silly to move 'rail' unless you have no choice. This applies to all corners, not just T1

    Well if you are in a bad position and you can't go left or right to avoid an incident in front of you, you can always use the brakes ;)

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety +1

      Roberto Santoro yep! Most incidents that I see, people don’t take the right evasive action when there’s an incident ahead. They think they can squeeze through and then complain about how they were innocent 😂😂😂

    Pretty detailed and useful video!
    I have a question though. In certain tracks like Monza and Barcelona, the final straight is followed up by T1+T2 chicane. Assuming you have to choose your line after start, would you prioritise closing the door at T1 or sacrificing it to get into position in T2?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety +1

      haha yeah monza is a tough one. Personally at monsa it depends on the car i'm driving. Something with some suspension travel, I wanna be on the left and ride the kerb on the exit of the chicane. But the 'safe' place to be, and the place that i would advise to people is similar to this video. Grab the inside of the chicane. Also keep an eye on your car radar or glance left. If there's nobody beside you, you can assume the racing line. If you're not sure, enter the chicane tight and exit super wide. Hope that helps!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety

      being on the right after the chicane exit also gives you track position for T3, if someone gets alongside you on your left.

      Nobody will divebomb you unless there's some space. This video is about putting yourself in the best position so that divebombs aren't attractive. People only divebomb when they think there's a gap.

    5:42 idiots in this arcade game, have this "radar" that is fuckin IMPLEMENTED into game core.. .and they still crash. That shows that idiots will be idiots. You will never learn them anything. You can make 3wide but You need inteligent drivers, and radars or crew chiefs are not nessesary.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety

      The radar sucks. Our league actually forces other/better radar apps. But you're right. Great drivers can make better racing. But this is an amateur sim racing league with people of all skill levels. So are more sim races that take place. Someone else not being 'good enough' is no reason to allow your own race to be ruined.

  • @ADAKAR83
    @ADAKAR83 Před 4 lety

    4:15 cold tires in ARCADO COrsa ... please. This "sim" is easiest so there are most idiots on grid. This is semi-sim. Tires and breaks are a JOKE. The same goes to mass transfer and overall feeling of car.
    Cold tires and breaks are in RF2. For example, start to Monza from standing start. T1 is a clusterfuck, easy to make REAL FLATSPOT and not to loose "2-3 extra procent" from tire.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Před 4 lety

      OK :) I'm not sure when you last played it, but you do have different tyre feel on lap 1 even if you use tyre blankets. Brakes will always perform though, you're right about that. And collision physics suck :p
      RF2 is great, but very unfriendly to use. I feel like i go back in time when i play it.
      We've had races at monza in high powered cars with absolutely no T1 incidents. I think you're racing with the wrong people :p But seriously, there's no golden rule for a chicane like monza t1. You cannot guarantee that nobody will come alongside you.

    • @OoogaBoog
      @OoogaBoog Před 4 lety +1

      Tire dynamics in AC are the best in any sim. This has been verified by real race car drivers. You just sound salty for some reason. RF2 has better rl suspension feel. And even project cars 2 has a say.....in environment feedback. No other sim does it better even though the rest sucks. No Sim has the best of all worlds......yet. iRacing is pretty good in all fronts though....just not the best at anything.
