You might have 2 separate issues. Vibrations while at idle usually can associate with a misfire or bad motor mounts. Misfires won't cause vibration in the steering wheel so that seems to be a motor mount issue. And idle fluctuations will not be caused by bad motor mounts. That could be a slight misfire maybe bad coils and or plugs.

If you loosen the Oilfilter first, 1/4Liter old oil will flow back in the oil pan. So you can get more old oil out the Engine. Just a Tip. Greetings from Bavaria :-)

    summary for MT owners.
    - Changing engine oil fixed the steering wheel vibration the owner was feeling when idling.
-Engine oil every year or 5k miles or every year.
-Advises against preventive replacement of diff fluid (shavings help the clutched limited slip diff, removing them can cause problems).
    - Coolant is lifetime, bmw does not recommend changing it
-Power steering should be lifetime too, but check fluid color by dropping a drop from the cap on a white rag should look green, if it looks brown change it. Verify level for leaks and top off.

Thanks for making this video. Who would have known that changing your oil helps keep your car running smoothly? /s
It's like this is Spencer's first car and clearly he's never done an oil change or basic maintenance himself. This is all basic stuff that a dad or someone should teach someone when they get their first car.
Lots of misinformation regarding fluid changes in this video. BMW claims lifetime transmission fluid but ZF recommends transmission fluid changes at 60k miles.
Coolant should be changed every 2 years. Brake fluid at least every 2 years but if you track your car then at least every year. Differential and power steering fluid should be changed every 30k miles.

I own a '09 e92 M3 and have been chasing answers if the DCT fluid should be serviced at regular interval. Dealers pretty much say that its lifetime fill. On the other hand, my local Bimmer specialty shops recommend servicing it at 50K miles interval. Given that Precision Dynamics recommend 100K miles, I wonder how that differs from lifetime fill since, by that time, the DCT may be close to the end of the life anyway. Currently my M3 has only 35K miles and the DCT fluid service is just around 6 hundred dollars, I feel that it's still a worthwhile investment if it can prolong the DCT beyond 100K miles. The only risk I am concerned about is if it will cause slipping afterward due to the flush of metal shaving.

there is no lifetime coolant or any car fluid for that. Car manufacturers consider warranty period to be lifetime of car. After warranty expires, so life of you lifetime fluids. Anyway i would definitely not leave coolant in car for more than 6 years, ideally change every 4 years. Btw LSD diff and manual gearbox oil should be changed every 3rd oil change ACCORDING TO BMW. Especialy with clutch LSD it always been the case to change oil every 30K miles. Can be stretched but then you might get to the point this guy mentioned in video that you will have to keep those metal shaving in diff to have friction in clutchpack

This whole "lifetime fluid" talk is BS. Even coming from a fellow BMW owner. Service at proper intervals similar to any other vehicle. pushing 200k miles on my E90 and all of my fluid have been changed 3-4 times. Engine oil every 4-5k with LL01

"Dont change your filter every other time you change the oil" me: who tf would ever do that i change my oil with the best of 5w30 advanced full synthetic every 4500 miles to 5000 miles and i wont go past that and i always change the filter when i change the oil i think its pretty dumb to just turn your oil straight black again when it should never look black all because of an old filter but i will say this i really really wish the n54 had a dipstick shit kills me

This guy is mistaken. There are no life time fluids. Find a new mechanic

Not to bash but he doesn't know wtf he's doing. Crazy seeing you say that's the only shop you'll trust and then see his procedure and his flow on doing it yikes.

Your idle could also be a vanos solenoid. My bank 1 went bad after people told me it was either TA’s or ICV. It finally threw a code and went into limp mode!

Mine was the motor mounts on .my 2006 330i bmw. Once I replaced the motor mounts, my problem went away when idling at intersections.
