I’m so jealous of you learning so much languages I try to learn Japanese but I have a hard time of learning by myself and memorizing the meaning of all the kanji
Just write them out, I find that’s the best method
@@bradywhelan5208 when I first started out that’s exactly what I did I just wrote them down a bunch and the meaning and how to pronounce it but I just can’t memorize I literally stopped try to learn last year and thinking of trying to pick it back up again only because I want to go and live there for the car culture and maybe med school

I do have a question for you, has learning Chinese (because they have all and more of the same characters which Japan has) helped you to understand Japanese better?
Sombre Rose Chinese and Japanese are two totally different languages
@@wendyty8307 They are completely unrelated, the grammar couldn't be more different, but knowing Chinese is a HUGE help with learning kanji and guessing their pronunciations, as well as recognizing a ton of loan words.

I’m actually part of Rotary and I recently met a boy from Switzerland that got chosen to come to the States as part of the exchange program. Told us that everything in America was big, the food, the people (looked to the huge white man beside him), everything was huge😂 Nice guy. He said the process took about a year too

Im actually going myself to Japan as an exchange student for three months in a few days! Im really nervous because im afraid I wont be able to learn the language in the short period of time but I weirdly pick up languages fast so hopefully I will!

I really want to go to Japan to learn Japanese and learn about their culture as an exchange student, but I’m from America and my friends all call me a weeb and I want to go just because I’m obsessed with anime. Don’t get me wrong, I love anime, but I hate getting made fun of because I’m interested in other cultures. I’ve talked to my parents about moving to Japan for a semester next year for my junior year of high school and they said if I really want to we can try to do that. I’m just worried I’ll get there and feel out of place or that I don’t want to be there. Any thoughts?
