i have been going to Sierra Leone from since i was 12/13 yrs old (2003) and I have never seen some of those beaches and hotels...AMAZING 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 and i got family in Dallas FW as well

I've been in Sierra Leone long time ago. Love this country. It deserve to be on the map for tourism. People there were so much friendly love sierra leonese people, wonderful culture. Hope to go back to Freetown soon. One of my favorite african cities!

Thank you - great video! Clear, to the point and helpful. How was your stay at RB? Do they have a private beach?
The stay at RB was ok. Nothing spectacular though. Very safe and the customer service was great. No, there was no private beach as the hotel was not on the ocean. About a 5 or 10 minute walk. If I'm not mistaken, there were only beach bars and restaurants on the beach. The hotels were across the street.

Did you check out the cotton tree in freetown?
A group of escaped African Americans (Gullah speaking pll) arrived in Sierra Leone, with the help of British. And they arrived at the cotton tree. It’s still there today. They built freetown (town for free ppl) and Jamaicans and Nigerians later joined. They renamed themselves krio tribe (Gullah language x Nigerian Pidgin x Jamaican patois.)
I didn't. I'll have to look it up during my next visit.

I want to go back but curate my own itinerary/trip. A lady in the group kept talking about Sierra Leon which piqued my interest. Do they speak English in that country?
Yes. I've been to Rwanda.....but I visited at the height of the pandemic, so most things were closed. Thinking about going again this year.

Thanks. No. I don't recall trying it...but it sounds familiar, so maybe 😊. The Chimpanzee Sanctuary was in the city of Freetown. Just a 35 minute Keke ride from my hotel (Radisson Blue).

I received my VISA on arrival, but there are documents you must fill out online before you are approved to get a VISA on arrival.
