It's so crazy that Aegon arrived to Westeros with 3 dragons and used balerion to build the wheel and unify the 7 kingdoms due to his dream & then Daenerys comes with 3 dragons and uses a balerion reincarnation to fulfill aegons prophecy and since it was fulfilled and there was no use for Targaryen power, she breaks the wheel with her black dragon... SOO poetic. I am pretty sure Daenerys even foreshadows a balerion comparison in the books

      Balerion reincarnation ?
Also the conquest wasn't a poetic good thing , it's a violent power hungry act whose only reason why we can maybe forgive is the long night and the others
The only thing morally justifying targ rule is their probable involvement in the fight against them , otherwise a foreign entity annexing all other kingdom is just evil
The wheel can only be broken , if the people rule themselves, and having an all powerfull monarch , one with power under their hand so grand that they cant be drnied , even if that monarch ix good , its just a dictator and it is just painting the wheel another color ,
Breaking the weel is feudal system being abondoned in westeros , in the possibility of feudal rule being kept , wich 7 kingdom or not wilthin a couple decades with no doubt stir some conflicts again , because this is the nature of feudal system , the closest thing we can have is each kingdom ruling itself , since dany is targ , her own kingdom , would dragonstone and kinglanding and it surroundings , and the cities she freed in essos .

@@louyou6614 “Breaking the wheel” is a metaphor. There is no reader who can sit and explain what “break the wheel” means unless george himself said that. Aegon conquered westeros because of the great war, not bcuz of some narcissistic goal he had. Yes, balerion reincarnation.

    • @louyou6614

@fouff925 A conquest as it core is about power , the redeeming qualities of our 3 conquerors is their knowledge of the long night , and what is needed for it , so the conquest here can be interpreted also as an act of preservation of humanity
As for breaking the wheel , it's is I think understood that it is the system and constant struggle forpower , now as a reader we can use our cognitive functions to theorise what new system could and could not work , personally I think , that separate Kingdoms, with a sort of European Union kind of system would be great , specially if after the war they define exactly the borders of each one.

@fouff925 In ASOIF, prophecies are always technically correct, but the people that have them tend to interpret them according to their own flawed, self interested perspective. This suggests to me that Aegon didn't have to respond to his dream by conquering Westeros and installing his own family as dictators, but his ego and belief in Valyrian racial superiority made him see that as the logical solution. In fact, if you count the Dornish wars, the "united" Westeros that Aegon fought to achieve has had 13 civil wars in a span of 300 years, which averages out to about once a generation. There were probably better ways for the Seven Kingdoms to cooperate against the White Walker threat than for some foreign invader to forcibly bind them together, but from Aegon's perspective it probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
Maybe not really going back to seven kingdom , I predict that at the end some very important and even paramount families would have died out , so some kingdom would merge

this piece of information we got off season 2 really do widens our view about the world of asoiaf. Dragon dreams, dragon dreams. Its not just because they're prophetic dream of the dragon people, valyrian, but because it's literally cause by the bond with dragons!

Honestly, I find it all fascinating and am amazed by all of you content creators who really study this "history" and provide detailed analysis and theories to supplement those of us who've never read the books! I love the idea that the dragons - or at least Balerion - inspired the dreamers. I do with more of Heleana's dreams in HOTD were a little more understandable for the folks around her. Everything is so cryptic, but it's also like they don't even think that some of her "ramblings" could be dreams they should be paying attention to. Are these Targaryens so far removed from dreamers that they don't recognize even the possibility in Heleana? Also - shout out to Princess Cirilla of Cintra making appearances as a Targaryen in the video. LOL

I really like hotd's new opening sequence. I think even a fresh viewer or nonreader of the series would be able to understand most of what is being depicted in a general sense. Now compare that to the season 1 opening credits to the wheel of time series that also did a weaving / loom opening ( the idea fits the series on several levels) but didnt portray anything at all but superficial sedai of the ajahs. At least from what i remember from it anyways.
    Always enjoy your work fey!

If the theories that human souls are bonded to the dragons, then it makes perfect sense that Balerion and Drogon are almost the same. Look at who Drogon was named for; Khal Drogo would have torn Westeros apart for his Queen if he had the chance, and was going to until his death. He would have led the Dothraki into battle against Cersei and the Others without hesitation. His devotion to Danaerys is unquestioned, just as Drogon’s is. Balerion’s human soul is unknown, but it could well be another Valyrian who dreamed of the coming Night and was laughed at over it in Old Valyria. We will never know.

hm i somewhat disagree that maegor named a girl to be his heir because of dragon dreams. i think that it's more out of spite, since he saw the males as challengers while he likely thought he could easily control a female heir since he doesn't have his own offspring to groom.

the theory about valyrians experimenting with creatures is still mostly just a theory. for all we know, valyria is actually cursed so that anyone of dragonblood would suffer upon entering the islands. those things under aerea's skin could be parasites that were attracted to her flesh since she is of dragonblood. the moment she died, those things seemed to die with her. i could just as easily theorize that the reason why daenys had that dragon dream to leave valyria is because she foresaw this horrific and magic-driven catastrophe that would befall any of the dragonblood who stays in valyria. sort of like the pharaoh's tomb curse, so that's why they had to leave asap.

So the theory of “it seems that Balerion inspired the dreams in his riders” wouldn’t make sense, otherwise how would there be an explanation for Helaena Targeryen the dreamer whose dragon was Dreamfyre

    • @FeyFire
      @FeyFire  Před 2 měsíci +3

To your point, there were even more dreamers in the Targaryen line who never had any contact with any dragons at all. However Balerion's skull and bones were always kept at the Red Keep, as we've seen. Viserys even kept vigil there and lit candles to commune with his bones.
As far as Dreamfyre is concerned, well, her name may indicate a connection to her abilities. Dreamfyre was also formerly ridden by Rhaena, Aerea's mother. We don't know who laid the egg which became Dreamfyre; but it potentially could have even been Balerion, as according to Septon Barth, the gender of dragons is transmutable.

Dreamfyre also seems to be the most Balerion like dragon till Drogon. Dreamfyre was most likely the most genetically similar to Balerion out of all his offspring. From HOTD we know there's three different dragon breeds one for each of the Conquest era dragons. Balerion is a war dragon, dinosaur head, big, strong. Vhagar was a travelling dragon, a horse like head, meant for long distance. Meraxes was a speed dragon, wolf like head, fast, nimble. Out of all his offspring, dreamfyre is the only one with a dinosaur like head showing she's also mainly a war dragon. Maybe the war dragons are the only ones who can give their riders dragon dreams

Wonder if the dragons were ridden more frequently, would other dreamers might have come forth? Aegon and Aemond totally disregard their sister. It's like they were unfamiliar with the family history of dreamers.

I agree that balerion spiked the dreams of Daenys the dreamer but that's because of the rider-dragon magical connection. I think of another dragon that binds with dreamers Dreamfyre.... I know, it's in the name. She's the mother of the 3 eggs Daenaerys gets, and daughter of... Merexes! Rhaenys is the dreamer not Aegon, but the misogynistic world attributed everything to him alone from conquest to prophecy. It makes perfect sense. He had blackfyre, visenya had dark sister and rhaenys had no valarion steel? Or she did. The dagger! Just spinning here tbh. Great video
