    Definitely a lot quieter then either as well while mowing. I'm high pitch sensitive and the hydraulic pump whine isn't bad at all.

    Wes, I have seen a bunch of older balers for sale out here in Oregon,like the one you bought, and they were 2006 and newer with 15000 plus bales through them and the people selling them also praised them for the usage and excellence. I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy using yours for many years.

    Glad to see someone is hitting the fields. The old man finally got a chance to start working down corn ground and we will be putting anhydrous on tomorrow. Hopefully the weather holds out long enough to get some seeds in the ground.

    We run a 4995 with a 995 16 foot head. It’s a good machine under powered. I ran a r450 the other day man it ate. Drooling for a w260. We gave 80,000 for it new in 07 I think was the year.

      +gareth smith He has/had a New Holland TR70. I don't remember of the top of my head whether or not he did get rid of the TR70 but I know they moved it out to about that spot a year or two ago beside that particular shed. His main combine would still be the NH TR96. The TR70 had something wrong with the engine if my memory serves me right.

    The county contract requires you to maintain a walking path around county-owned fields they lease? Is that for the benefit of the public allowing them to go for stroll on any county-owned field as they see fit? Would any farmer want people wandering about fields with so much investment at stake (lease payment to the county on top of whatever it takes to farm the fields, etc.)?

    • @RealCadde
      @RealCadde Před 8 lety +2

      +kglefo Not just walking paths. It's so vehicles such as the fire department can get to those places. Or other maintenance etc vehicles ofc.
      And at the end of the day, if this wasn't part of the contract, it would just cost him more to lease the fields anyways.
      The other option is... Let someone else lease the field and they would still do this very same thing.

  • @RealCadde
    @RealCadde Před 8 lety +2

    NH be like: "Why aren't you complaining about the JD?"
    And my reply to NH would be: "Why aren't you fixing the issues your stuff has so you get as few complaints as JD does?"

  • @TheRealJesseStoltzfus
    @TheRealJesseStoltzfus Před 8 lety

    You can make it go a little faster. There should be a spring down in the hydrostat handle where it hinges in. Take the slack out of the spring, and you will get more speed. The custom harvest crew I worked on, they do that every year, jumping from 17-18 to 20-21 mph

    • @Starchface
      @Starchface Před 8 lety

      +Jesse Stoltzfus Are you sure about that? I have the impression that the speed of this mower is limited in software and no amount of messing with springs will change that.

    • @TheRealJesseStoltzfus
      @TheRealJesseStoltzfus Před 8 lety

      +pillsnotbills unless they changed something in the software, it should be set up pretty similar. The combines were 15's and I believe the mower is a 15 as well.

    • @andyv4585
      @andyv4585 Před 8 lety

      I do the same thing with the combine every year. Have no issues with the tractors since I'm in them all the time. When something only gets used for a month or two every year or every few months it's easy to forget a lot

    • @mattphillips4260
      @mattphillips4260 Před 8 lety

      never did run the combine did not want that job liked running the auger carts and keeping trucks at the ready was my choice of fun

    • @andyv4585
      @andyv4585 Před 8 lety

      The combine is the best part. Far more relaxing then something like planting or spraying. Also don't have to constantly look back to watch for plugs and such since everything is right in front of you
      It's a real pain when something goes wrong and combines being combines there's a higher chance of a break down so there are some down sides of course

    • @mattphillips4260
      @mattphillips4260 Před 8 lety

      most times when the combine messes up it dont take long for it to get bad fast thats what i dont like

    • @andyv4585
      @andyv4585 Před 8 lety

      Depends what it is really and getting yearly inspections really helps cut back on down time. If something big goes it really sucks sure but that's just part of farming.
      Some owners can be really hard in hired hands tho and like to try to pin the blame on them when something goes wrong so I do see where you're coming from. If the issue was obviously operator error that's another thing but really shit happens and it happens quite often with combines and all the moving parts they have

    • @RealCadde
      @RealCadde Před 8 lety

      +Wyatt Hart That's beside the point though. If it isn't dry inside the storage shed then that junk can cause all kinds of nasty things. Rust being the main one but even mold that can mess up your airways is a thing to consider.

    • @Starchface
      @Starchface Před 8 lety

      +Blake Hewitt I am very skeptical that they would just show up and start mowing a field. That makes them responsible for the cut material, any potential "incidents" that might happen, and cleaning up the equipment. That's a massive headache and a waste of time from the perspective of someone who is there just to replace a few parts.

    I'm not saying new holland us better just because j lije them better but to me john deere is so over priced its ridiculous sometimes like there tractors with new holland your getting a good stout tractor but dosent codt 250, 000 and john deeres hay equipment us great don't see nothing wrong but to me new holland is just the better way to go I will say this tho there baler design youst to be on the rough side but was reliable and could handle havier crops and bale hay with water running through it but the speed rowers I don't know about them but the one you had was pretty much shot the day you bought it and I've got a saying you can make 10 speed rowers and 1 can be made on the same day as the rest and that one came to you wes and it was a piece of crap.

      +Bristol Bishop Bishop Isn't it a matter of "You get what you pay for" though?
      I mean, i can buy a Chinese car brand spanking new (made out of recycled toilet rolls OFC) for half the price of another car. Does that mean i am making a good deal?
      Or even better yet, i can eat mass produced slop every day of my life and live. Or i can eat my own prepared dinner with everything i like as well as variation. It might cost more than mass produced pigfeed but it sure makes living just a little bit more pleasant at the end of the day.

      Got to agree with Wes. Quality, reliability, and profit are the hallmarks. Not to mention that they actually have a good resale value compared to a junky red tractor.

      +Timmy Cornpicker that baler was not that bad it was just outdated tech. Before it hit the market. It was originally a krone 80/80 Deere just bought the right to paint it green.
