This video is about New Rake Hunt. just looking at the options i have for a new pare of rakes yes i said pare that means two of them. www.patreon.com/user?u=3445481
Wes bought a new rake last year it's a new Holland or sitrex it's raked over 500 acres without any problems at all. I am here in mountains of north Carolina it's rough and steep but holding together looks new nothing bent or broken if you choose that rake I thinking you will be pleased.. keep up good work really enjoy your channel
I have the 10 wheel new holland and the only thing you will not like is they have flow restrictors in the lines somewhere that makes them lift and lower slowly. I plan on getting rid of them when I have a chance. keep the vids coming!
we looked at the new Holland and a vermeer. the vermeer was a little cheaper and I liked the quality. I went with the vermeer. it has been six years now and I still havnt even replaced a tine. vermeer vr1224 you will not be disappointed.
We have a new Holland. Love it!! My only complaint is the wings go up and down very slow. It can be fixed with larger hoses. For some reason they used 1/4" hose.
Yeah experience changes opinions... I used to have the same thing about tractor brands but I've gotten to accept other brands. I used to be all about John Deere and fends but nowadays I drive new holland, case, international, steyr, and even Massey Ferguson, amongst some other brands, so it opened my eyes to the competition and I realized they too have cunning inventions and different approaches to certain issues. I remember the auto power on some John Deere tractors didn't know what gear to drive in so in the field it would auto change the gears all of the time. Then I got to drive a new holland with a gearbox that is comparable to the power quad gearbox with the main difference being the layout of the gears as the gear lever only went forward and backward. I think you know wich one I mean. I found that at the time that NH was doing a better job,so nowadays I can see the pros and cons for each brand individually. Thanks for the video Wes, it was good as ever 👍🏻
I like the look of the new Holland. That lighter steel may be due to that extension sliding into the wing tube so they have a snug fit. I really like that you can unbolt and replace the ends of the wings if need be. Narrow transport is nice especially for the amount of time you're on the road with a lot of traffic. If I were picking between the two you showed us, the new Holland would be my choice. Not everything new holland makes is junk.
You can go to your nearest farm implement dealership and check out machinery yourself if you're interested. I generally go when the John Deere reps are in town. Free food, caps, T's, pocket knives, keychains etc.
I have 8 wheel New Holland with Kicker just like that, we bought it last year. That is and extension to add the 5th wheel. The independent wheels really help in the Indiana hills and uneven ground. :) Bought a Pequea tedder this year, and it is built like a brick shit house...
Never had any luck with a sitrix rake the steel was always very feeble would brake and crack easy and we bale at least 1000 acres or more a year and about 350 acres of rough ground we have had good luck with Kuhn rakes may be look at them also not saying they are the best just been very good to us in Oklahoma I like the peque rake in the video like the adjustable shocks for sure
The New Holland Pro-cart rakes come with just 8 wheels to the dealer so that way if the buyer want ten wheels they put just the 2 wheel kit on just like that one or a 4 wheel kit.
You can't go wrong with either especially Pequea. They have greatly improved over the years. I have a 4 star TT and love it. You won't need kicker wheel for your business...and I know you are not getting a BigM.
Would the Pequea WindrowPro rake do the job? I would take one tine wheel off each side so it would be a 15 tine wheel rake to reduce the raking width. The four tires would be better on those rough bumpy fields and you can still move the rake if you get a flat tire. The manufacturer is 'just down the road' so you can work on strengthening the design of the wheel arms, if they do custom builds i.e have them build you a custom mulch hay rake. (Putting on a proper truck trailer tow eye etc)
They had a good article in Wall Street journal last weekend about how much used equipment is on the market it's absolutely flooded. Companies leasing equipment like Volvo Deere and cat are taking a huge hit because nobody's buying new and if they are buying it's on the secondary market. Needless to say I'm in the market for a backhoe unreal the choices that are out there and the prices
wes god I'm envious here in UK it seems to be always a struggle to make hay .cut it turn it many times just when its nearly dry its going to rain so bale and wrap been like this all season . I use a class 2700 rotery rake do you think a wheel rake could cope with the damp grass that i bale . if you visit a stealers yard when in UK bet you won't see one new or old good luck .....dave
I lived in the Midwest for a few years. Combine envy is a big thing there. You will lose social status if you don't have the latest machine. Of course it has to be green. SOME people buy red or yellow machines. They are shunned.
Hey, would you mind doing a review on those Kubota disc mowers in the background of this video one of these days? I know they are not what you need for your operation, but that is about the size I need for mine and I truly value your opinion!
I will not give Wes any greif over what he wants.... do not neccesarily like the shade of green he likes so much but his older tractors are nice to see being worked on still cant figure out 3500 acres of hay though. Didnt think New Jersey had that much farmland in it
What about a v rake or just not a fan f those just wondering cause we have a v rake and we love it it's a Massey and we've had very good luck with it only a few problems like the hose for hydrolics blew but I believe that was on us
Ha Ha Ha, yes, Wes, try the big-m for a demo..... mower and windrower in one..... plus it should have better steering than even your jd mower, as it's chassis is more like a combine.... Get those swaths done, then compare.... Come on Wes, you can try it.... 2 jobs at once, 3 times the mow width, it ads up.... should be better handling to...
A heavier rake that may last longer might be better in long run than a decent cheap rake. Your business model is one that needs a much heavier and beefier rake that will last with your use
im still here wes... i watch daily... i dont say much cause the key board warriors piss me off i think you would be crazy not to jump on a good deal like that... we all know how rake arms flex going down the road or working... a break is inevitable... 100% with your thoughts... good morning to all
Some people don't realize there may not be a local dealer for some of these brands they're recommending...if the nearest Kuhn or Vermeer dealer is 200 miles away, what good is that? I'm sure Wes can be trusted to make a competent decision lol.
Honestly I think you do alot of acres for some of your equipment. Not to mention road travel is a pain on some equipment especially if you farm far from home.
vermeer r2800. last you 4 times as long as any wheel rake you can buy plus your windows will be a lot better. I put buying one for years finely got sick of these junk wheel rakes breaking down halfway through hay season.
if you are doing such heavy hay and you are tearing the h and s up, why go bigger? just curious. I am sure the tough stuff you do with them will tear the holland up too. mebbe not. not being a troll, just curious
Maybe talk to them saying your compliment, complaints and recommendations and offer to test them for them and you never know they might be interested, as you have a audience; they get free advising and you get a free rake to use.

Always a Good Video. I understand and i am glad you show the viewers. Some just do not understand anything. Good Job.
I have a NH Procart rake. We have had it a little over a season and like it very much. The independent rake springs seem to work quite well.
We bought a 1225 procart this year. The individual springs are a must on rough terrain.

i really enjoy ur videos where you go look at new machines, do more if u can!
You can go to your nearest farm implement dealership and check out machinery yourself if you're interested. I generally go when the John Deere reps are in town. Free food, caps, T's, pocket knives, keychains etc.
Thanks for the informative rake video Wes.

Leaving us hanging at the end haha, would be an incredible machine
Never had any luck with a sitrix rake the steel was always very feeble would brake and crack easy and we bale at least 1000 acres or more a year and about 350 acres of rough ground we have had good luck with Kuhn rakes may be look at them also not saying they are the best just been very good to us in Oklahoma I like the peque rake in the video like the adjustable shocks for sure

Rowse rakes made here in Nebraska are really nice too but pricey. Some are able to pull 3 windrows together if you want.
kuln makes a nice wheel rake too It's extra high clearance for extra heavy windrows. However, it looks very similar to the Mid-cap
Hey Wes since you like carted rakes check out the Vermeer VR 1224. We run two of them and work great. Built fairly heavy.
Might wanna look into a Kuhn wheel rake, very heavy duty. But heard nothing but high praise of the NH rakes
Check out the hr12 ogden! We have had one for a couple years and love it! Very well built!
You can't go wrong with either especially Pequea. They have greatly improved over the years. I have a 4 star TT and love it. You won't need kicker wheel for your business...and I know you are not getting a BigM.
get a header that puts 2 rows into one for jd windrower & rakes will be history !
the farm were I work has a new Holland twelve wheel rake and it is the best rake we have ever had it is not easy to break
they look like nice rakes thanks for the video wes
we got sitrex rakes in Australia bloke I worked for has got one never let him down, simple and strong rake
I like this video, every New Holland product is not a BB340 Crop cutter pick-up
Should have checked out the direction of the drive shaft on the new Krone bailer.
Would the Pequea WindrowPro rake do the job? I would take one tine wheel off each side so it would be a 15 tine wheel rake to reduce the raking width. You should check out the ogdon hay runner. what i saw of it, it was very heavy duty for a wheel rake.
We have a10 wheel Kuhn, never had any trouble at all with it.
I would like to suggest that if there is a Vermeer dealer around maybe you should look at one of them.
we have a Pequea rake and the only problem we have is it likes blowing out hydraulic cylinders. But these things will rake anything
They had a good article in Wall Street journal last weekend about how much used equipment is on the market it's absolutely flooded. you should look at a darf hay rake they are built f2f or the custom rakeing here in Calif
The Pequea looks to be better or heavier built. And it is locally built for you in Pennsylvania.
Wes Look at a Frontier WR 60
frontier is h and s just painted green
who makes it? not deere.
you use good parts from your old rake and build a good rake. the frame look pretty simple
Very nice rake video Wes ,right Tim 😂😛😂😛
We're looking at getting a new rake too.
you seem like a nice guy fastman89
+fastrac89 who care of your name
+fastrac89 I'm done talking to you
go with a kuhn. you won't be disappointed
more like LOLtomatos
Great video Wes
I could spend all day looking around all that equipmen.
Richard Last e
I run the nh procart 1022, I paid 6500 for it,the sitrex you can get for 5500,I bought the new Holland for resale value
I lived in the Midwest for a few years. Combine envy is a big thing there. You will lose social status if you don't have the latest machine. Of course it has to be green. SOME people buy red or yellow machines. They are shunned.
The first one looked like a giant vicon acrobat
You know you want those triple mowers just get em and cure the itch!
U can get a new NH twelve twentyfive twelve wheel rake four fiftyeight hundred here in Wisconsin!!
I kinda like the peaque? rake. looks like its built good.
Well time to get a rotary rake to handle the heavy hay
i had a sitrex exactly what the newholland looks like, try a an odgen hayrunner, great rake
Wes have you looked at a Kuhn?? I have an SRgII 12 wheel rake and love it. Much more adjustability than this new Holland rake. Look at the Kuhn!
Hey, would you mind doing a review on those Kubota disc mowers in the background of this video one of these days? I know they are not what you need for your operation, but that is about the size I need for mine and I truly value your opinion!
We had the 8 wheel version of that rake and it was a great rake for us. Any updates on the 4320 & 4010? Btw great vids keep it up
An 8 wheel version of the new holland that is
Cool Vid Wes!
question, what is the single wheel on the back of the rake used for? haven't seen that before on these types.
I will not give Wes any greif over what he wants.... do not neccesarily like the shade of green he likes so much but his older tractors are nice to see being worked on still cant figure out 3500 acres of hay though. Didnt think New Jersey had that much farmland in it
fastrac89 doesn't know his ass from his elbow...
What about a v rake or just not a fan f those just wondering cause we have a v rake and we love it it's a Massey and we've had very good luck with it only a few problems like the hose for hydrolics blew but I believe that was on us

have you looked at Rowse rakes built in Nebraska
Krone North America is developing a wheel rake. I can get you in contact with R and D if you want to try one out.
A heavier rake that may last longer might be better in long run than a decent cheap rake. Your business model is one that needs a much heavier and beefier rake that will last with your use

New developments and technology do more work better and faster. You're not talking about a tooth rake behind an F-20 Farmall, here!
Teasing us with the Big M... how rude^^
2017 sitrex 6500.u assemble 6200 ive seen em also 6800.7200.
I think a big m would be a good investment if you have the acreage
Can you do a video with messick's walking around looking at the stuff they have in there yard
M & W makes an excellent rake too
I really like my 1225 new holland rake
Some people don't realize there may not be a local dealer for some of these brands they're recommending...if the nearest Kuhn or Vermeer dealer is 200 miles away, what good is that? I'm sure Wes can be trusted to make a competent decision lol.
Honestly I think you do alot of acres for some of your equipment. Not to mention road travel is a pain on some equipment especially if you farm far from home.
That seems like a common h&s trend being built nice but not heavy duty.
You should get a Krone pto driven rake
need a new rake too I been using a nh rolabar for 20 years about wore out never used a wheel rake like to try one.
Great for grass hay and rough ground. Just okay for legumes. Fast field speed, though.
The only bad thing about those rakes and folding them on hills they roll easy.
Krone Big M are pretty good in my experience, but everyone has there own opinion.
I dont think I would trade my tr 96 on a 9060.... some say they are slower in some crops than the tr combines. Id go with a 9070 or 9080
thank God the wheels are all independent
I work for a JD dealer in North East PA not far from you at all would you ever consider a 12 wheel Kuhn SR112?
Why don't you trade your combine in towards something since your don't doing grain crops?
Just because one manufacturers tubing is larger means nothing it all falls to the tensile strength of the metal.
nice video
Did not know that Kubota made a MoCo
Did you see your old baler? I usually see it in the ad in Lancaster Farming.
Messicks don't seem to have much luck in selling Wes's old NH BB340 that's for sure, and the hay season is well and truly over now!
One of each!
kid in a candy store
*big kid
vermeer r2800. last you 4 times as long as any wheel rake you can buy plus your windows will be a lot better. I put buying one for years finely got sick of these junk wheel rakes breaking down halfway through hay season.

I hope no sky divers accidently land in that lot .
hey wes have you looked into an enorossi?
Is your one of your H&S rakes for sale. If so how much?
I'd go with a Kuhn myself...
I priced a new holland 8 wheel Vrake here in Ontario and they wanted 9000 so I bought a Kuhn
They wanted $9000000 for a rake, really?
AWFULCOLD MINER - nine thousand dollars 9000.00$
cody harrison That makes more sense but you say $9k or $9000 not both.
AWFULCOLD MINER sorry my bad
Atleast it's a funny mistake!
Those New Holland rakes are made by Enorossi, aren´t they?
Please support the local made Pequea over the Italian made New Holland. Of corse that is is price permits.
Pequea manufacturing is a great company.
Buy a Pequea. Keep me in a job. 👍
Maybe talk to them saying your compliment, complaints and recommendations and offer to test them for them and you never know they might be interested, as you have a audience; they get free advising and you get a free rake to use.
Have you ever looked at a Frontier?
I want Tim's opinion before we decide :P
its like being in a sweet shop but for farmers.....
