The Hudson Valley in NY had a storm come through a few years ago and did exactly as you described with the corn stalks - they laid them down in a neat area. It was interesting to see the path the storm took by looking at the corn field. Within a week the stalks were back to life.
Corn, so many ways to prepare it. If I put it in a pot on low, I turn it up and add honey butter and stir, stir, stir. There is never a single kernel left in the bowl Fried corn with butter and I use bread crumbs. They scrape the sides of the pan to get it all. Scalloped corn in the oven. Corn, bread crumbs, egg, honey butter, salt n pepper, a dash of milk and a handful of angel hair cheddar cheese.. Always a holiday favorite. Oh and corn bread. I always made mine. Then one day my kid sister brought me a pack of ChiChi's cornbread mix. Put the mix in a bowl with a stick of melted butter and a can of creamed corn. Bake. WOW, goes great with a dinner or even as a dessert to snack on. No one locally has advertised kohlrabi this year. What a disappointment. I love it fried. I will take a large head of it and literally julienne it almost as those tiny angel haired cabbage that I cut up. I add it to cabbage along with angel haired carrots and it makes on great cole slaw. Great by itself or grill up a beef hot dog, on a bun. then add a nice slice of mustard and some cole slaw on top. Fantastic sandwich. Watching these video's of Logans always makes me hungry.

I am enjoying the summer harvest Logan. I think I enjoy the corn picking the most. Good to see Sammi there on her day off from Pharm school...her smile and laugh always makes me smile too :) Question....you ever considered doing Okra? I know it's a southern thing here in TN and the south in general but was curious if it would be profitable or if folks up there know how good it is fried...yum!!
Me and Pickles corn didn’t do so hot this year it didn’t get very tall and the raccoons had a block party out there that lasted a week. I plant3d another stand but they are looking kinda burn3d up. The beets were insane though giving them away to the neighbors more than we care to jar. Picking the last of the Romas rtm the chimkinz have played hell on all the tomatoes,have you ever seen a chickinz jump like two feet off the ground to peck a tomato? I have and a plenty😢
In the less modern times people picked rocks hence stone rows where animals sought refuge Picking rocks was a thing rocks work their way to the surface no till farming was supposed to be initiated to eliminate erosion
Sammi is a really hard worker and so committed to farming when she is not working. Will make a good farmers wife. Hint, hint! Not my business for sure but enjoy seeing her around.

I still don't understand why you don't sell the beet tops they are similar to Swiss Chad and far better than Kale you leaving the money to buy a rock picker laying in the feild

I'm sitting with corn on the cob straight out of the 4 min microwave cook . Salt and butter ! Great snack
