I'm so sorry about the delay, we had to take a little break for a while because things were getting a bit overwhelming.. I always wait to water my succulents, at least a week after repotting. This allows the roots to heal up, settle in and take root to the new soil medium. After a week, I go ahead and water gently and lightly, being careful not to pool the water on top and just giving it enough to moisten the soil through. Then, I let the soil dry out completely, all the way to the bottom. (sometimes letting it stay dry in-between the waterings for a few days to a week.. the amount of time the soil stays dry inbetween the waterings, will depend on your type of climate, type of soil, type of pot and the size of it, how much sun it's getting, etc..) When the leaves start wrinkling on the bottom, I go ahead and water again. I'll be posting an update soon on how I take care of them, just as soon as I catch up around here. Sorry again for the delay. Let me know if you need anything, I'm back and answering questions. I usually get back to everyone within a few days or so.. Thank you for all your support and patience! I couldn't keep doing these videos if it wasn't for you watching and following along. 😉

@@StaceyHerewegrowagain Hello, Stacey Just to share, I bought a Jade plant at the supermarket, when at home, took it out of the pot and they were 4 small plants which I put in smaller clay containers with the "net" at the bottom adding "Cinnamon" to help rooting and overall. Leaves I cut put them in water, it roots better and faster. Let you know how it goes, after next 40 days. Blessings 🙏🪴
Thank you for your tips! I heard of using cinnamon but never tried it before because I usually use my rooting hormones if I need to. I'll have to give this a try because I see a lot of people using cinnamon to root things a little faster. Thanks!
Yes, sometimes when repotting succulents the bottom leaves can start to shrivel a little bit. (Especially if it wasn't watered beforehand. I always water my succulents a few days before repotting so the leaves and stems are full of water which will decrease the chance of the leaves wrinkling. I just make sure the soil is completely dry before repotting them) As long as your leaves are not mushy or wet feeling it should be ok, it sounds normal. You could give it a drink a few days after repotting if the roots weren't messed with too much and you think its looking thirsty. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply.
Hi Stacey your video helped me some. I just separated a large jade. I have stems to report but I also have a few large stems with the roots still on. Should I let them soak in water over night or are the ok to leave dry over night or got them in soil right away???
Hullo thank you for this video. I live in Canada. My Jade plant has not grown since I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. I want to repot it now to make it grow. It is quite cold here -16 celcius yesterday. Is this the right time to repot my jade plant? What is the best soil to use? Please let know. Thank you so much.
not really relevant to this video but what should I do? I just got what I thought was one cactus, turns out it's two small round cactus crammed into one of those tiny plastic pots you get at stores, the cactus are both tiny and I want to make sure they have the best chance of survival, so any help would be appreciated, I don't know how to safely separate them, since it looks like their roots are all tangled, not sure about pot size or soil either, they came in a plastic pot inside a novelty ceramic looking flamingo thing which had no way of draining water
I always make sure my soil is completely dry before transplanting or separating my cactus/succulents. This way, when you seperate them, there is no chance of moisture getting into any open wounds. I plant them in succulent soil and add perlite to it.
Hi there. I'm sorry I dont think I had the chance to give an update on these last time. All my jades are doing really well and starting to come into their growing season again. They are getting big and shaping up nicely ( I like to train my branches to grow a certain way). If you need any help just lmk I'm always here to help when I can😁
Sounds like it could be mealybugs which are very common for succulents. You can treat a few different ways. With a insecticidal soap, using 100% cold pressed neem oil, or you can treat with a qtip and 50- 70 % isopropyl alcohol. (when the mealybugs get bad, I take a qtip with some rubbing alcohol and just rub them off the leaves and stems gently, as I see them appear.. It usually takes a few treatments to get rid of them, especially if you have a bad infestation going on. I recommend rinsing off the alcohol, after treating, so it avoids any possible burning that might occur) I've treated my jades with the alcohol and neem oil before. Both seem to do the trick and work pretty well. It all depends on which way you want to go with treating. Organically or by a chemical pesticide? I like to choose organic pest control this way, I'm not spraying chemical pesticides in and around my home😊
I usually don't repot my succulents unless they're growing out of their pots and need an upgrade. On a very rare occasion I'll have to discard the soil and repot the plant. That's only if its a severe infestation and I can't get it under control.
Hi Stacey. I’m having trouble with my kalanchoe mother of thousands. The leaves are very droopy and turning yellow then falling off. I just love this plant. It was doing great until last week. It gets indirect morning sunshine. Can you make any suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong. Thanks
What kind of soil is it planted in. Is it in the ground or a container? Are the leaves mushy and exploded? or crispy and dry.. I'll try to help you figure out what it could be... It's hard without a pic🙄
Ok.. so that might be the problem. I use the Miracle gro Cactus, Palm and Citrus Mix for my succulents and just add extra perlite to the soil. (I also plant everything in terracotta pots.. I'm in zone 9b). Succulents really don't like the regular potting soil and their roots tend to rot out really quickly from it. (even letting the soil dry out in-between the waterings, I've noticed it's just too muddy for them). It sounds like you might have a little bit of a root rot issue going on, since the leaves are becoming mushy. Usually when a succulent stops taking up water and the leaves start becoming rotted, it's a root problem.. from my experience. What I do in this case, is repot my succulent into completely dry soil and let it stay dry, for about a week after transplanting, so it can recoup (Sometimes it can take 2 weeks). If you do repot, try and make sure the soil is dry when you do, so no open wounds are being exposed to any moisture. I also make sure to inspect the root ball when transplanting, to make sure I remove any roots that appear to be unhealthy. I really hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I wish you the best of luck with your little fella. (Yes, these are succulents😊)
Hi my crassula ovata is nice and healthy looking however there only one peice of leaf that has a Black tip and looks like it’s melting. That is only one leaf . All the other leafs are okay. Any idea why it’s like that? Should I be worried? How to fix? Also what are some signs jade plants need watering? 😊 thanks
It sounds like what usually happens to mine sometimes, during the rainy season here in Florida. It's caused by too much humidity and moisture in the air. Do you have it in too much sun by chance? I only keep my jade in about 4 to 6 hours of Morning Sun where I live because it's just way too intense. Is it in succulent soil or a good draining Cactus potting mix. The root system might be struggling if the soil it's not drying out quick enough
I moved the whole plant with the compact soil into the new pot and new soil. My thinking was I don't want to give my plant shock therapy. The plant with the old soil around its root, can't do any harm! After that, I put some cool water into the new pot. I hope to make it quicker to root with new soil. What do you guys think?
Plant food and fertilizer are the same thing and I don't fertilize mine because the soil I use provides food for up to 3 to 6 months. I only feed 1x a yr, if I do feed and they have specific succulent food you can use for them. Or I just top off with fresh succulent soil in the beginning of spring each yr.
It adds extra drainage to the soil medium and provides good air flow around the roots for succulents and cacti. Not sure of the specific material it's made of though.

How many inches are those new pots?
About a foot and a little bit lol. Not sure exactly, I didn't measure when I repotted them.
Did you water after transplanting and it gets sun after transplanting or shade time?
Hi Stacey, I need to report a 50+ year old plant, it's well over 5'-6' wide and at least 4.5' tall.
Any suggestions ???
Why do you wait a week before watering the newly potted plants?
I only do this for my succulents and cacti because they can't take up any water without roots.

Did you use any of the oil soil from the original pot? If not, why?
I used new soil when I repotted these. When my old soil is worn out I like to use it for composting.
The reason I didn't reuse it is because it was pretty old and compact, there was hardly any nutrients left in it. Hope that answers your question😊
