  • Dreaded Conspiracy brought us some new Labrynth support and in this video we'll go over the basic turn 1 combos for the furniture/Ikea build.
    If you never want to miss another screw for your Ikea furniture - click here: / @cognitivegrub0
    (Furniture) Labrynth has made some waves in the TCG the past few months, after the addition of Big Welcome and Lady Labrynth. There are 2 builds that go around, the previously mentioned Furniture build, using Stovie and Chandraglier, and the floodgate variant that uses... well, the annoying cards. It does make Labrynth relatively flexible in the current meta as both builds have different strong/weak points, so use this to your advantage. Although, I do not want to encourage the use of too many floodgates.
    Also, we do have a guide on what to do when your opponent goes first:
    Part 2: Turn 0 combos - • Today You'll LEARN abo...
    Hope this will help you guys play Labrynth in the future!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Disclaimer for these Basics combo guides:
    1) We will ignore the opponents' hand, unless we need them to do something to show parts of our combo.
    2) The searchers specified will be able to kick-start the combo by fetching starters. It is possible we use search cards later in the combo that aren't specified in the searchers at the start.
    3) The decklist(s) presented are often the ones used to perform the combo and may not be the most optimal for ladder (neither are the combos on occasion). Feel free to have a discussion in the comments on which cards should be replaced/added. However, there are multiple ways to Rome.
    4) The presented decklist may vary from the used list in the combo tutorial, as for the tutorial we want to increase the odds of pulling the combo off.
    The YuGiOh! Basics Series is a series of videos where we elaborately walk through different combo lines and combo strategies for different decks so you can learn how to win. Aiming to inform beginners of the deck, or just beginners to YuGiOh! in general and we perform these combos in Konami's YuGiOh! Master Duel, even though most combos work fine in the OCG/TCG too. We're hoping that these guides will give you the confidence of playing with a tier 0 deck, even though it is ranked slightly (or vastly) below that and not, as Seto Kaiba had put it, be a third rate duelist with a forth rate deck. Be as Yugi Moto, play, learn and believe in the heart of the cards!

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I agree that it would have been better to do so. However, since I want to show the most minimalistic combo (meaning that the combo can be performed with only the cards in the starter catagory - with using the cards in the searchers category to only search), I did not want to interract with it any further. Also, it would be a 4 card combo, over a 3 card combo, which I would classify as a intermediate or advanced combo line, instead of the basic ones that I'm presenting. But you are absolutely right in saying that it would have been the better play here!

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 8 měsíci

      I'm not a Lab expert, but what I do know is that no one is playing it. Also when reading its effect, it sounds ok, but also situational (the trap set only activates when an attack is declared).
      Perhaps there is an actual Lab player who can tell you why this card isn't played exactly.

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 11 měsíci

      You need some for Dogmatika Punishment (N'Tss is a prime candidate as it pops another card, otherwise add high attack monsters. Five-Headed Dragon is an UR which you can access freely). All the other cards are situational, but can be replaced by any card as fodder for Prosperity or other Pot cards. They do occasionally come up, so expect the power level to be a little lower than with a proper extra deck.

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Don't think it will be better per se. The cards you've mentioned definitely have their strong suits, but so do the furniture cards. It will be meta dependent and since the meta hasn't fully settled yet, I am not sure which is better. I can only say what I personally find more fun, which is this version.

    • @cladiosanchez6865
      @cladiosanchez6865 Před 11 měsíci

      No. Been running ladder with this deck, and tbh I found myself wanting to open clock more often so I cut in another on over punishment since tear is still around. The furniture is the linch pin the the whole engine. The loop with stove, and chandelier is so good at generating advantage you can't cut it. The cards you mentioned seem more of a traptrix style of play, this is a trap deck in name only, but plays more like sky strikers than anything since it's a control based strategy as opposed to stun.

  • @user-mu9rd5sy5o

    Is dogmatika punishment just a pop or does it combo wit what u send. Tryna avoid getting another ultra rare if the combo is t the hest

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 10 měsíci

      Dogmatika Punishment is exactly as you thought it was, a pop plus an additional effect with what you'll send. So does N'tss allow for another pop, Bucephalus + Garura allows for a draw, Mereologic Aggregator for a face-up card negate. If you just want to go for a 1 for 1 pop, you can always put in a five-headed dragon. And a 1 for 1 pop is already quite good.
      Furthermore, in the (near) future, we'll be getting some other extra deck monsters that want to be send to the GY, so perhaps one of those will be cheap.

    How about a labrynth combo guide specifically for the new event deck? I know that these hold up there too, but we don't always open full combo in our starting hands.

    • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 11 měsíci +3

      I fully agree, but I also feel somewhat conflicted, especially with Labrynth. As aside from the turn 0 and turn 1 combos that I've showed, I've only seen variations of those combos or just the basic 'set a few traps and pass'. Labrynth is not an extensive combo deck such as Dragon Link, Adamancipator, etc.
      Furthermore, the videos and combos presented are a starting point for getting into the deck, everything else I cannot do for you guys. E.g., getting experience with the deck, getting accustomed to match-ups, what to do when you've bricked, etc.
      I do like your idea though, but I really need to find some inspiration for more Labrynth combos to present (whilst keeping it fairly basic for everyone to be able to follow, so I will limit myself from using more than 3 cards as a starting point). Perhaps I can start a series called 'Test Hands', if you'd prefer, but that limits some of the decks I can do guides for as I do not have all the cards in the game (also, I was very unlucky with my Lab pulls, so making a Test Hand guide for that one will be a little more difficult).

    • @Wortigon2000
      @Wortigon2000 Před 11 měsíci

      @@cognitivegrub0 I can totally understand not having all the right cards. Gacha systems are always a pain to deal with. And it requires 3 other UR/SR to craft one card you really want, while UR's and SR's are already quite rare in comparision.
      Especially painful for people who, like me, don't want to dismantle cards they see some potential in (even if they lack the other cards to make it useful), unless they have over 3 of them. (or whatever their limitation is at the time).
      Like how I have a few boss monster cards that I can't even bring out, but are powerful enough, that I don't want to dismantle, because it'd be a pain to craft again if I ever decide to build such a deck.

      @@Wortigon2000 I do think it isn't that bad for MD, in a sense that you can definitely play dedicated decks. But if you want to play more (as I want to do for content on this channel), it gets expensive quickly.
      And I know the feeling you are describing, I dismantled Fur Hire Folgo and Rafael when going for Plunders about a yr ago. That ended up being a mistake, so I am hesitant to dismantle any possible relevant cards, limiting myself access to full decks. I do want to invest in decks I think are fun to play though.

      Yes, but it is not essential to play this deck. You will lose out on some extra power without certain ED cards (especially Chaos Angel). • @cognitivegrub0
      @cognitivegrub0  Před 11 měsíci +2

      On the bottom right corner there is a button which usually states 'auto'. By clicking on it, you can change the responses to 'off' (skipping all possible interruption opportunities) and 'on' (which give you every opportunity possible).
      In this case, whilst having the setting to 'on' will give you the opportunity to start playing on the opponent's draw phase. With the setting to 'auto' you can activate your cards after the first action your opponent takes (either playing a spell card or summoning a monster). Sometimes you want to perform certain actions before that.

      Good examples are Dimensional Barrier, Skill Drain, Gozen Match, There Can Be Only One.

    This deck can be played with more floodgates. I don't not recommend you play floodgates

      Oh with plenty of floodgates. But now with Transaction Rollback, you'd probably be better off playing the 'regular' traps.

    No extravagance in furniture variant, or is it viable as well?

      It is definitely viable, but is takes a quite expensive extra deck. You want to run multiple Garura's and Bucephalus's to gain the most benefit out of the situational use your ED will give you, for example. I simply do not have those cards, but still want to have access to those cards, thus no Extrav for me.

      @@cognitivegrub0 i played today against labyrinth deck it was no fun. 5min combo from him in his turn and then again even in my turn. How does yugioh is fun today? If you play some older archetypes you need the same 10 cards like everybody (maxx C, ash blossom, Niburu….) so you can‘t play the full archetype and labyrinth is broken. I don‘t see the fun of playing Solitaire in a two player game with 5min + Combos in each turns. Its just watch amd wait for a long on going defeat or give up right after start. Also many cards are banned because yugioh has a major flaw. It needs no cost to play cards! Pokemon, Digimon, Magic, Force if will did all a better Job…

      @@demyxix1273 I agree, there is often very little interaction possible. So you end up watching someone else set up about everything they want for the next 5-10 min. And every new release is even more convoluted to overpower the previous top deck(s), so much so that after 25 yrs you are ending up with what we have now.
      I think there are many flaws in the game of YuGiOh!, but for now, I am still often enjoying my time. Then again, I am not a high-ranking competitive player striving for the best results every month.

      @@demyxix1273If you really think Labrynth is broken, it must be literally the only deck you played against, and only played once.
      Labrynth a lot of times loses to Ash, and Lady Labrynth can get interrupted from literally anything so you can easily prevent them from setting new traps, you could literally chain Mystical Space Typhoon to one of their traps and Lady would be unable to activate.
      Now compare that to Dragon Link, a deck where you have to pray they go first, you draw Ash, and they have no way to chain block stuff (which they usually do), you'll be looking at a half hour solitaire play being unable to do anything.
      Or look at Branded Despia, a deck that can currently play through Ash, Imperm, Nibiru and still recover, and let's not forget that Maxx C is almost pointless since if they went second you're screwed and if they went first, they can just go by without special summoning in a lot of cases.
      Or look at Kashtira, or Mathmech with their one card combo, almost guaranteed to OTK if they go second, or Tearlaments or any pile with Punk, etc.
      Just because you play some rogue deck with no hand traps or board breakers doesn't make Labrynth broken.
      Like bro, you can beat Labrynth with True Draco, lmao.
