Thanks for watching!
I'm convinced 100% that the people of my generation who call everything embarrassing and cringe are just deathly allergic to fun.
Millennials were sending death threats and doxxing kids for being cringe on youtube back then
gen z is definitely not the worse generation imo
Yeah especially when it comes to Gen z ppl calling us Gen alpha "brain dead" when it's really just the 5 year Olds.
@@Guacamoleeeeeepretty much âskibidiâ and âsigmaâ are gonna die out quickly and as a gen z I donât think they are really what people would say âinâ but itâs more just what I think the younger gen alphas slang is mainly because they heard those words and thought it was cool to say that stuff and now here we are
not just fun but also sincerity and genuine emotion
As a gen z, nothing makes me more mad than seeing what new âtrendsâ this generation has set up. Could we all just agree that every generation is gonna go through things we all will look back at and think âoh my goodness whyâd I do that?!â
Gen z complains about bullying, but are the biggest bullies.
Because it's funny when you make fun of others but not when they make fun of you, they're very hypocritical.
Bigger bullies than we millennials were at that age? Nah. History keeps rhyming. Gen Z will get their inevitable comeuppance just like millennials did, and Xers and boomers, and Gen A will as well. None of us will remain cool until we die unless we die early.
@@annthesis so true!
Literally though!!!!
So tolerant they donât tolerate anything - cringe alert đđđđđđ
This explains why the kiddos have anxiety about everything.
So much judgement.đ€Ż
Frr
Can confirm. Got bullied because I always acted strange, didn't like things everyone else did, and was overly emotional.
â@@Selfdestructingwii ha, same. Then I found out at 19 that it was all due to my adhd, and suddenly it all made sense.
I love it here. đ€ /s
Also probably explains why my generation, the Millennials, have anxiety out the ass; we got it from ALL ends for a while until now, when some people started fighting back. Some things we deserved the push-back on though... like how a lot of Gen Alpha kids apparently can't read; that one's on us.
If I can't put my hands in the air, how am I supposed to wave them around like I just don't care?
hahahahha
There are so many songs that tell us to put our hands up and thatâs what Iâm gonna do đ
Oh god, that one track by Weezer that you have to dance to that literally encourages everyone to dance by singing "All raise your hands"...what do we do now...the shrug emoji dance instead?
they want us to do it cuz they sad cuz they have their phones clutched at all times in their tiny grabby hands standing in the middle of the club blinding everyone with the flash and our hands are gettin in the way ! we wont fight unless provoked
It's about time someone called us out for our bullcrap...
And Hayley saves the day once again!!
(And I agree, about time.)
Haley has saved me from multiple depressions.
I will never understand the concept of claiming something you didnât do or donât agree with just bc a group of people who have minor relations to you do them lol
Soon enough itâll be gen alpha đ
Duck face, peace sign, with a MySpace down angle is STILL way less cringey than a teehee scrunch face. You look like weird.
the moral of the story: just wear what you want (unless Itâs against school/work dress code)
Moral of the story I treat Gen x like I do all children I hate their existence and don't acknowledge them , the opinions of a child mean NOTHING TO ME đŻ
Dress codes _suck_ so much. I went to a school where I had to wear hot blazers and full length trousers during boiling summers. Shorts were not an option for the boys.
Being sent out of school for wearing a slightly short skirt or showing a hint of shoulders is just total rubbish. Wear what you want (just be sensible - donât wear a giant hat to block the whiteboard or anything seriously offensive).
dress codes or area codes
That's more or less what I have learned well with one big Caveat make sure what you wear is also not offensive to most people.
Honestly hate people who make fun of others for repeating outfits like yes I wear the same 3 outfits what're you gonna do about it đ Better than overconsuming and buying tons of outfits I'll only wear once...
Its no wonder Gen z is so unhappy, we really are getting worried about putting our hands up in a club? đ
putting your hands up like that is basically surrendering to the moment, itâs spiritual in a sense. music is spiritual so it makes sense why we do it. itâs just being present to the moment.
They're gonna have sooo much regrets when they get old
You know what makes me sad? Decades were defined by their specific styles, fashion and decor. They had their own unique, real "aesthetic" personality. It's easy to look at a picture and estimate the decade. However the later years from 2010 and on, feel so empty. It feels generic, sanitized, hollow and cookie-cutter in the blandest way possible. There's nothing that stands out because nothing stays around longer than a little bit. It not just social media trends either. I'm so happy it was brought up, but even corporations or companies and their logos are devoid of any creativity and uniqueness.
"Everyone" is so scared of looking dated, cringe or out-there that they've basically fallen in line, like a precursor to a dystopian future where it's uniformity above all.
It's terrifying how true this is.
hmm thats a REALLY dark adequate thought. as an older gen xer i just sit back and watch the insanity take place.
I agree with the cookie cutter feel. It's basically that this person got "likes" and views , this MUST be how I have to be. This is no uniqueness to anything anymore.
Other, more nuanced side of the side of the coin; decades are highly uniform in their aesthetic, precisely because everyone adhered to the contemporary trend, so well to make decades distinguishable. Ironically, you're very much quantifying the past as a novelty by their uncontradictory aesthetic. In many ways, uniqueness is actually more widespread and encouraged now. That doesn't change the fact that people are still people, and culture dominates lifestyles, there will always be a particular quota onstage. It's just now it's more fleeting, offset by the more prevalent individuality, disregard for trend, more open-mindedness, and probably most significantly, the broadening capitalistic market where mass variety over quality reigns supreme. Don't be fooled by the front page of a TikTok; media has a knack for positioning itself as a perfect portrait of the world, when in reality, they are still quite a ways distanced.

Also, GenZ can call Millennials âcringeâ all they want, but at least when Millennials were younger, they were having fun. Who can say the same about GenZ when all theyâve known is how to criticise everything around them? đ
Gen Z also calls us Gen alpha cringe even though it's really the 5 years Olds, it's like they forgot that Gen alpha started in 2010. We aren't stupid lol, I'm pretty sure all the generations except Gen Z can all agree that Gen Z sucks.
All generations are cringe and suck, why do people care so much
As a Gen Z I agree, this is all so ridiculous. My generation is so worried about what other people are doing rather than focusing on themselves and that's why they're all so generic and miserable. I'm also tired of seeing them treat Gen Alpha (all of Gen Alpha) like they're idiots when that's not true. We're always REACHING to pick out the worst in people, smh...

Same, I carry a backpack and people find it funny until they need ibuprofen, a bandage, a spare carrier bag or a change of trousers for their kid and then I'm like OH I WAS FUNNY WAS I
this really is weird, I'm the self identified mom friend of my friend group, you need pain killers, I've got two flavors of pain killers, I've got cute bandaids, i have hand sanitizer and hand lotion, tampons, hair ties, protein bars, etc., gen z doesn't have mom friends??
They are probably too young to go to a restaurant without parent supervision so ofc mommy and daddy pay for it
Have to carry medicine with me at all times due to medical conditions. People always gave me shit for wearing cargo pants/shorts up until they ask me to hold things because they have no pockets, or those super tiny pockets you can't fit anything in. People are idiots.
we need to stop calling things cringe and literally just deal with things people do as things people do
It seems Gen Z is so preoccupied about being unique and complex that they seem to go about that by catching and calling out random things just because a previous generation did it, instead of focusing on actually either being unique or indifferent and letting others do the same.

How did we get to the point where WALLETS - something just about everyone has - have become cringe? It's also not as convenient as some people think...
There are still many places that don't allow you to tap your card.
Also, at least as far as I'm aware, you CANNOT put any forms of ID in your phone's digital wallet. Plus not all store membership cards are compatible with a digital wallet.
You said it perfectly - when your phone dies, then what?
Yup, yup, and yup! I live in a place where most stores DON'T have digital pay for their pinpads, but that doesn't stop our local Zoomers from playing dumb at checkout. đ Then they get all angry because it's the only way they can pay, like...what??? Imagine leaving the house with only a phone and no drivers license or debit card. Digital pictures of ID's are NOT legal, do they even realize that?
The ones who do bring cash or card don't even know how to pay with those either! I had a girl who looked no older than 13 throw a mini tantrum at me because the self checkout wouldn't take her $20; she was literally shoving it in the bottom slot that *gives* your change back. A lot of people think they can tap their cards to the screen to pay since it must be the hip new way to pay now, and when we tell them they have to insert their cards chip-first, they get really confused, and usually insert it backwards, or swipe when their cards don't even have a strip to swipe...
They're throwing a tantrum over something that's their own fault because they were not better prepared.
And if they drove, they probably don't even know (or care?) that they were doing so without a license, which is - you guessed it - illegal.
Recently in the US, the cyber attack caused phone service to go down. Lucky for me, I use my phone for very basic things
Louisiana has an official digital wallet. I uploads our ID, immunization records, hunting license, etc. It's accepted as a physical ID. It's insanely convenient.
My brother also added that Gen Z is the most intolerant generation, specifically when it comes to differing thoughts, ideas, and opinions. I donât disagree with that. He also mentioned there is a good subset of Gen Z that cannot stand or be around other Gen Z. Also donât disagree with that.
I agree gen z is very intolerant

Yes, it's your own bias. I'm a younger millennial. We were exactly the same when we were 15-25 years old. Then we got 'old' and now we whinge because we're not the most important know-it-all part of the society anymore.
@@Killjoy_MelI'm an older Millennial... I remember the exact same shit. Fortunately, I was never really hip and trendy with my generation, so I didn't have that pressure.

Also, always have the emergency card blocking numbers of your banks in your phone. If you lose your wallet you can still use your phone to block the cards, whereas if your phone is lost and all you use to pay is your phone... You're screwed. Replacing IDs is a royal PITA and you can't do it it without a working phone number and means of payment. While convenience is nice and all it is silly and downright dangerous to have everything in one place.

There isn't a damned thing wrong with being a Millenial! It's ridiculous how they make everything about age. They're incredibly ageist, which is dumb because everyone gets old - if they survive
Of course, there are decent kind Gen Zers, it's funny, ageists are hating on their future selves, and well hateful people generally age poorly. And that's the low-vibration Gen Zers Karma, they're aging badly

Man alive. I'm only 20 and I quite literally remember my family having an actual landline as a child. I mean, I won't say I'm above collecting older technology purely for display purposes (like my grandmother's camera from the 1950s). But seeing something I remember actually being used, something that I still use at my work even, being made into an "aesthetic" object with no purpose makes me feel like I'm about to turn into dust.
Again, not to say I'm above anyone else, but I at least try to see if old technology is still functional and, if it is (and isn't something I'm afraid to touch too much), I try to use it a little bit before I make it into a display piece.
Edited for clarity.
There are houses without landline phones??
As a fellow Gen Z-er, YES! Some of Gen Z is nuts, man. Eyeshadow is "old lady stuff" my @$$. The generation I've seen wear the most eyeshadow is Gen Z. Heck, I hate makeup, but my favorite kind is still eyeshadow!

The ageism in Gen Z is WILD.
I am with a person with ASD, born in 01 (I am a zoomer) and it scares me so much that what we were supposed to become has not happened and what we have become is something that scares me so much that I can't describe it, it's 2024, we could have become become a better society and instead all the development has been destroyed and we are going backwards, it makes me so angry
Same, '01 here, and I couldn't agree more...
Also born in '01, also on the spectrum (if that's what you mean by ASD). Realistically, everything shown here is just a bad vocal minority that gets overrepresented on social media. We're not necessarily going backwards (in most respects), there's always been ~30-40% of people that are just kind of terrible or hard to be around, Gen Z was never going to be an exception just because we started off with a little bit more hindsight. Most of that's not really important because all the terrible or dumb things people say sometimes (especially younger people) don't really matter at all. It's just noise you have to filter out.
Of course, some of these guys have a negative influence, but that's not new by any means. To the extent that it's exacerbated by social media, it's just one of many historical examples of a new technology with big ramifications that we have to adapt to & regulate as a society. I know, that in & of itself has uncomfortable ramifications. We all want the culture we knew growing up to be in a cozy stasis forever, but that's not really an option & the alternative isn't some dystopia to fear or resent (as alien as it may be). All you can do is appreciate the good stuff we still have while we have it & find ways to look past what we don't have anymore. Hope I've provided some value to anyone reading this.
@@zanzamanzaanza5981 Well said! We generally have the habit of overlooking the good handful of the generation that doesnât portray the entirety as a bunch of clowns. Those pants are giving âHowdy partner, this town ainât big enough for the two of usâ
The guy comparing the trends with gen z and millennials is SO accurate. Being a late millennial (â95) I have both fairy curtain lights AND an LED strip on my tv hahaha. Gen z picking apart Instagram stories? Super weird. Millennials grew up having FUN with social media and not following ANYONES guidelines. My MySpace had a hello kitty layout with brass knuckles scattered throughout.. we just had so much enjoyment with customization and never collectively followed a âposting guidelineâ to make sure your page looked the most aesthetically pleasing. We actually hated people copying us so badly, we would hide our MySpace music player in our layout coding so people couldnât steal our MySpace songs lmao. We all wanted to be different, so both generations have a wildly different outlook on posting currently on social platforms. Also cracking up at the scrunch face, I hate it so much, the duck face and the hair poof combo was a whole look. Yâall need to bring that back the âjersey shore circa 2009â aesthetic to come after the âmob wifeâ aesthetic IMO, Iâll dig out my bump its hahaha
I might blame some of that on Gen Z not really having anything like MySpace. Their idea of social media comes from the fact their social media sites had minimal, if any, customization.
At the end of the day, we're all just humans. We'll always find a way to complain, believe we're the cool ones and mock the rest for not understanding. Everyone in their generation had a clown phase, call it the 60's for boomers, the 80's for gen x, the emos on 2000's for millenials or today's fashion for gen z.
And before long, Gen Alpha will have their moment, too.

The beef between all generations is hella stupid. All of us are cringe. All of us are losing brain cells over something that makes us feel sensitive about other people. What else is new?
Precisely. I hate this. Sometimes I feel like millennials are equally hated by both the young and the old, but at the same time like... why should we care? We all get old. The old are getting their due, we're about to get our due, the younger generations will get theirs as well. Why choose this rotten division when we all will eventually go through the same things, even if the world around us is changing?

Let her live with her own consequences. Itâs better she learn now than when sheâs an adult. Thereâs nothing kind about letting her grow up to be irresponsible.
