The EONE ET201 is one of the most affordable tools to visualize waveforms. It is also a decent multimeter and a safety hazard. In this video I am showing all pros and cons I could find about the scopemeter.

The clip of Dave's voice gave me a chuckle. Beautiful isolation on that daughter board, they should sell it with a welding glove to hold it, rather than a carry case.

They don't bother because most buyers of this thing use it for low voltage/low current measurements. 99.9999...% of uses are continuity check and voltage check below 30V. For those this tool is good enough. And if resistance/capacitance measurements are quite precise then all is good.

    Got me too.
"The manufacturer can circumvent my biggest complaint"
This is a very very good point!
Manufacturers have no idea what we want.
Most of us would be fine with a 250v or lesser meter using glass fuses as long as it doesnt make bullshit claims!
When they do make the big claims though they are obligated to back them in the product.

    • @JAKOB1977

why shouldnt they..! I hope that every product on Banggood have this level of competence & neutral viewpoints.(non shill attitude.. that woulkd be something that would go a long way in my impression of an given product and shows that the seller have confidence in their product or at least willing to let reality stand on its own two feets.)
and yeah I also purchased one, Banggood had them going for 11.11 USD 2 weeks back at there 11 year anniversary delivered for the MT8205 model (though limited stock and VIP5 as I recall) but in the end 11USD aint a lot, and I usually pay more in just shipping here to Denmark and even when shipping inside Denmark, and here you get DMM 2in1 for 11USD with shipping from the other side of the world, nahh certainly not too shabby..
biggest con is lacking DC scope feature..
// some things that Marco didn't mention.. is has a memory feature where you can record your waveform and DMM readings to some crude extent and second its also has auto hold with a 4.line under each other segment where you can set it on that feature and when it then gets a steady valid reading it beeps and let you know it has taken a steady reading and record the measurement and go on to the next.
you can also vary between the settings with the dial and it will list the dial-setting infront of each reading if its AC or DC or some of the other dial settings.. recall it was 99 readings in memory and something like 3 or 4 for the waveform. (but im a noob on the matter, so I can easily be mistaken to some extent but at the price IM glad I took the plunge when it was going for that amount and imo looks quite decent in black colorway.. )..
here two pictures of the things Im refering too. imgur.com/a/3ca3Sq0

It's China bro... A lot of the manufacturers make tons off different items and just don't care, aren't qualified/don't know how to correctly engineer the product, and will cheap out are any chance they can get. Their main goal is to produce the cheapest products, even if that makes the profit margins extremely small. Their cultural norm is to go for the immediate satisfaction over the long term benefits. (They'd rather make $10 today than $1000 in a year.) They don't care about things like brand loyalty and repeat customers. Companies like DJI, Xiaomi, Huawei, the company that makes the powered screwdrivers/TS-100, WE Knives, Rike Knives, Lenovo, and others are starting to break away from this. But it's so engrained into their culture that even they do it. (Xiaomi or Huawei did some thing where they used an off-brand SMD in some of their phones to save some money... Micro cents.) And the bad part is, westerners will eat it up. That's why companies like wish.com and Harbor Freight are exploding... Especially the former.

If you actually work with 1000VAC or 20A much then you get a clamp meter ... and you buy a trusted brand like Fluke or Extech ... and I'm guessing the makers of cheaper DMMs know that, so they cut corners.

What has accuracy at higher frequencies and true rms have to do with each other? True RMS has to do with giving the RMS value of any AC waveform. This feature is not needed in most measurements since odd waveforms are measured in peak to peak. In the analogue era we did just fine without true rms. The rms value on the meter face was only good for sine waves.
