Big and strong 2-stroke engines in dirt drags, sidecars and motorcycles. I thank all motorcycle fans who contributed to my channel with their videos and motorcycles.
The Germans and Czechs led the way in developing two strokes with DKW , MZ, Jawa etc. The Japanese were hugely influenced by these bikes and refined two strokes and the rest of course, is history!
Back in the '70s I saw a drag bike with 3 Kawasaki 2-strokes (originally 750cc each) running on methanol. They called it "Achison, Topeka and Santa Fe"
Pffft....try three 2.5L six cylinder Mercury Marine engines, 2 stroke, EFI, turbo and nitrous. See Marv Jorgenson, Jaws III drag race snowmobile. 1989, record STILL stands today.
I remember the first time I rode a 2 stroke dirt bike and when it got to that sweet spot, it almost threw me off and I loved it, I cant even imagine what happens when the sweet spot on that v8 2 stroke kicks in
God I love a two stroke! I always had a dream it might be possible to combine the barrels from multiple RGV 250 engines into an RGV4-500 or better yet an RGV6-750. They would have been beasts to behold.
Takes a lot of patience to own one, especially an older one. I had a 96 banshee and it seemed that for every hour I rode it I had at least an hour of wrenching on it. But when it was on, it was ON. I often find myself wanting a quadzilla 500, but I have heard they are even worse.
Run forever if looked after - 2 trips I have made over 2,000 miles never missed a beat - Suzuki RG 500 CH Series (1989) Correct Oil and 95 Octane Petrol (Gas) Automatic Fuel/Oil and around 600 miles per litre of 'Perfume' Must admit (sorry Planet) only around 25 mpg !
Even those classic, small 2-stroke 50cc manual tranny bikes like the Kawasaki AR50 or the Honda MB5 were a pisser to ride! They felt more like a 100cc bike, given their 55 to 60 MPH top speed!
My dad used to work with powerboats and he took me along one time. I was 6 years old and standing next to a 2stroke v8 doing a test run scared the shit our of me. They were so loud, the regulators said they had to have silencers filtered, so this company designed state of the art exhaust silencers from them. On the first test run the driver opened up the throttle on the main straight snd the silencer just exploded
The most impressive 2-stroke engine I've ever seen is the 500ccm V4 Swissauto - Wenger engine. It was used 1992 - 1999 in sidecar and Moto GP, winning several prizes. Developing 210HP and weighing less than 40 kilos (including Clutch and 6-speed gearbox!) are still impressive numbers, but this engine is 20 Years old now!!! Btw: the actual Indian Thunder Stroke Engine is also developed by Swissauto-Wenger.
Reading comments pretty funny. One. None of them have cams. Maybe to adjust the chain. They dont like turbos too much especially when multiple cylinders are invoved. And the shape of the pipe is everything. Sends soundwaves back to keep the 2 stroke delimma to a minimum. Thats pumping half your fuel unburned out the funny looking pipe. Thats my 2 stroke comments comment. I love um. Really love the ones that say Merc. On the side. The genius of 2 stroke technology.
Boy, lol lol lol those neighbors must be tickled listening to that all day those two cycles are loud how in the Sam Hell do you shift to H ones or those H2S well how do you shift that damn thing.
Usually around 6,200 rpm things turn crazy, like Scotty engaging warp drive. What I did NOT like about 2 strokes was that there's f@%*k all outside that range. I passed my motorcycle test, bought a 350cc Enfield & discovered torque. I wouldn't want another 2-stroke unless it was Walter Kaaden's prototype. Yes, the god of 2-stroke tuning was East German. They had 125's producing thirty bhp in the late 1950's.
Hi. My memory exactly but I was somewhat addicted to the sudden rush of power when it came on pipe. I've since discovered torque though - way more usable.
The one at:38 seconds....he is not running that engine, clutch (sounds like a centrifugal clutch 🤔) setup at its highest potential. Sounds like those engines are just hitting the lower end of the "power band" range. Also, how's that power getting to the wheels? Sounds like some type of clutch with single gear? I guess it also sounded like a golf cart on...(pick your choice) Steroids, crack, coke, coffee, retard mode....because four 2 cycle engines propelling a human down a dirt strip quicker than any sports car I can think of off hand is insane....and looks hella fun.
That 2stroke V8 was something I didn't know I needed!
Imagine the trees you can cut 🤣
Idle sounds like a v8 full throttle sounds like a dirt bike
Giedrius Paulauskas Same here! Dammit, son! 😎
300 hp Mercury BlackMax ?
That 2 stroke V8 needs to be in my motorcycle
The V6 that was up on blocks, those were the most beautiful expansion chambers I ever saw. Really , made by an artist.
I want one
@@jasonwilliams2341 I think about all the Kawasaki's and GT 750s I would see at wrecking yards in the 80s and 90s . Wish I could get a few back.
@@Beemer917 wooow me too nothin like a 2 stroke and the sling shot power band
That V8 sounds like a top fuel dragster and "Hot for Teacher" at idle.
It's an outboard 2 stroke power head probably for Unlimited outboard engine Drag .boats
Awesome comment
I got myyyyyy pencil ;)
Love the craftsmanship on the expansion chambers!
They called it "Achison, Topeka and Santa Fe"
nope those were Honda 750 4 cylinder 4 strokes, built and ridden by Russ Collins.
Hal Casey?? used be a bike shop Hamburg NY named that when I was a kid.
Pffft....try three 2.5L six cylinder Mercury Marine engines, 2 stroke, EFI, turbo and nitrous. See Marv Jorgenson, Jaws III drag race snowmobile.
1989, record STILL stands today.
Somebody may have had a triple Kow but that was Russ Collins Honda as stated.
Henk Vink used to ride a triple 2 stroke drag bike engine Kawasaki in the late 70s early 80s
I remember the first time I rode a 2 stroke dirt bike and when it got to that sweet spot, it almost threw me off and I loved it, I cant even imagine what happens when the sweet spot on that v8 2 stroke kicks in
well being that it's an Marine outboard Drag boat motor I'd say it get's up and boogies but not like your thinking.
What happens is you put a CVT on it, so it's always in the sweet spot. CVTs and 2 strokes are made for eachother.
@@akabiscuitwaffle dude... that V8 always in the powerband will VAPORIZE tires
@@davonmulder5272 Yep, ALWAYS on the pipe! Total bad ass engine!
That 2 stroke V8 is an awsome beast of a motor...
Want one !!!
T shirt and jeans racing on gravel. Yeah, 'Murrica.
at that speed it is shithead
imachynn Anybody calls this land 'Murrica comes from shithead gene pool.
Mama aint raised no punk bitch!
i love 2 stroke smell in the morning smells like victory
Smell of childhood in dad's sidecart bike.
The exhaust pipes on that v8 2 stroke looks like the legs of a spider
is the 2 stroke v8 california emisions Friendly?
Michael Kreiner. . A paper airplane isn't California emissions friendly.
fuck california.....shame it hasn`t fallen off into the ocean yet
Jimmy Rustled you mad bro?
Jimmy Rustled
You should keep outta here just in case it does fall in the ocean. We'd never forgive ourselves if you came here and got hurt. Honestly.
Freddie, I'd hold his head under water and enjoy the gurgling and thrashing, something to remember and smile about when I'm old and in a rest home.
(3:10)I wonder how to sat on the bike? 🤔
God I love a two stroke! I always had a dream it might be possible to combine the barrels from multiple RGV 250 engines into an RGV4-500 or better yet an RGV6-750. They would have been beasts to behold.
I could smell that V8 through my screen
I owned several Suzuki GT 380’s and 550’s back in the day. Man I miss thoughts old 2 stroke triples
1:14 one of the best sounding engines I ever heard!
Love two strokes .
I had an H2 back in the 70s .. I wish of all the bikes I have had.. I kept that one..
Lets drive a dragsterbike with a tshirt and jeans!
wow. that v8 reved and sounded like the most powerfull thing eva.
it's a outboard engine...OMC!
Ruzedon volvo
I bet that middle rear cylinder gets Mighty hot!
Looks like a school project that V8
2strokes r messy, stinky, smokey, dirty, and require constant attention and matainance... but goddamnit when they run right, THEY RUN!!!
Max Power If by maintenance you mean mixing your gas, then yeah. Lotsa maintenance.
Ok, a ring now and again...
Takes a lot of patience to own one, especially an older one. I had a 96 banshee and it seemed that for every hour I rode it I had at least an hour of wrenching on it. But when it was on, it was ON. I often find myself wanting a quadzilla 500, but I have heard they are even worse.
I race 2 smokes and 4strokes....in the racing world a 2 stroke is far cheaper and easier to maintain than a four stroke.
If you have a 50 year-old 2-stroker that's been built right but not meant to race, they last

I had an MB5 all cafe'd out chamber etc. I told my mom it was a moped and did 30 mph lol. Bought it used at a yard sale for $80.
holy shit that h2 x2 😵

I want that double 750 bike!!! LOVE IT!!!
@William KahleyThat must compact the spine with the push! Painful just thinking about it but WOW, twin triple 2 strokes? Or a modern H2?
The v 8 looked like an alien ....so cool 👌👌👌👌
Everyone in the comments losing their nut over the V8, is that the first and only time we're gonna see something like that lol

SH1974 a lot of the v42 strokes of that day made 200hp
You should check out dutch moped drag races. Those guys run ~30 whp from a 70~80 cc cilinder!
Junior has a Derbi GPR 80CC. it tops 145 KM/U(90 M/H) even daddy drives it occasionally..........
InIMoeK a dude named "zip stunter" has a 98cc scooter with 40hp and it goes 0-100 in 4,6 seconds
Also check TB tuning in the netherlands. They did a 0 to 100 in under 3 sec ( insane!! )
exhaust mod magic!
InIMoeK Thailand too
Ah two strokes, they fire every outher time.
Imagine the power band on that 2 stroke V8
That 2 stroke V8 sounds gorgeous
It's an outboard 2 stroke power head probably for Unlimited outboard engine Drag .boats
At the start it's like hearing the Beverly hills theme
Illuminati l look l just in u8 I in lodge pop p
Never thought the sound of weed whackers can be this exciting
One time ago, i drank a ecological beer. But i climate compensated by driving my 2 stroke sled.
Only gear heads know the motors filled with angry bees are torque-y

Absolutely brilliant video. I had no idea two strokes are still active to this extent. Bravo.
I like the boat motor with chambers
yes, I also would also like to motor boat miss chambers
Jimmy Rustled make sure you wear lip protection
Sounds like really powerful mopeds,
Since most mopeds use a 2 stroke engine you are absolutely correct
one question, on the Yamaha 700cc 3 cylinder @2:43. where the hell do you sit? on top of the pipes !!
im pretty sure there would be some sort of covering over the pipes and you lean over them like you would a regular sport bike with the gas tank
use a shit load of exhaust wrap and tell your wife you might not be able to have kids after the race
Doesn't matter that brazed frame will break on the first full throttle or first corner.
lol...i would worry about the frame also
Jason Strickland I think that this is just a project, this bike is probably not made for being ride
0:07 Like a jet ski in water this thing runs like a dirt ski the way it throws up dirt just like a jet ski does with water.
chambers on the boat engine was a popular idea for about 8 minutes
So relaxing.
The V8 at 1:03 is an Evinrude 300XP, repurposed for use in a Volvo Amazon dragrace car, project name Rudezon.
Guys you need to start buying up these 2 stroke's ! Won't be long till there hard to find
Red Green's advise to old guys "wear a shirt"
Imagine hitting the power band on that v8, jesus
The v8 is evinrude outboard. I saw a vid of it in a car. Looked pretty lame because of almost no torque or something was off.
no cam...no valve...no tension
The V8 on the dolly, I would like to see what they put it in. Looks like a outboard motor
It went in an old volvo drag car.

1:15 there went all that countries carbon credits
side hack also impressive
Insane🐴🐴 I wanna ride.

3:42 screw whatever the real term is I'm calling that engine a twinline six
Do a search for “freight train drag bike” 3x 750 Kawasaki triples I used to watch in the early eighties at Santa Pod what a bike!
never seen such 2 stroke dirt bikes,i like 50 cc about 230 km p/u topspeed KREIDLER JAMAHATIE saltplains usa. 40years ago

Proper ring ding ding!!
TWO STROKE RULES....
So what is that thing at 1:04?? The worlds fastest furniture dolly???
Ha ha ha
So the v8 has to be fastest motor stand
So do all of these machines come with a complementary casket at time of purchase?

The v8 is an outboard overhead probably an evinrude 300hp and would need a big radiator and fans to keep it cool. Awesome for dirt drags tho!!!
if u look up v8 2 stroke rudezon and go to the channel he has a video of driving it
The dude with the trellis frame sportbike needs to do a clutch adjustment.
Cool

my mx360 has torque
