This knife is a Beast, but with a weaker detent. Story: I purchased this knife because I love Spyderco and especially their k390 (also have Endela, and Delica in k390). So I live in Florida and on the last hurricane my brother-in-law’s home flooded. Long story short I used this knife the break the caulking seal and pry off every baseboard in the home (two Stanley utility blades failed). This knife would not quit. No damage no issues. Because I use this as a working knife and knot a fidget knife I can accept the weaker detent. The lock up is super solid. To end the story with a bang, I didn’t mention amongst the chaos, I thought I lost my new knife that night and it took a week for them to find it under some very heavy cabinets. Point being I loved the performance so much that I bought a second one right away. Of course my brother-in-law found mine within a week. Once I got it back, I decided to see how sharp it still was and carved a spoon out of wood. Again this knife (k390) is a beast on wood. This is the perfect woods/camping Folding knife companion. So now I have 2!! No regrets.
I am realizing how much I love Spyderco's FRN more than others I've tried. I do not have a K390 blade yet, but you have me intrigued about it. Just a matter of time.

I recently got the Police 4 , full serrated, in K390. The Japanese made one, because I hear it is treated at a higher hardness. It's a cutting monster with no mercy...I love it

I have a delica 4 in k390 I've had for a couple years now. It actually chipped near the tip in 3 different spots skinning a tree branch. Hope it was just some burnt factory edge. It's my favorite steel.

I'm going to do a follow-up video on it but the short answer is it's amazing! I have been carrying it nearly every day for work. If you just want an excellent, great performance type knife this one is perfect. Good action and ergos are just a bonus. Buy it!!

K390 for sure, just because it's better all around and very close to same edge retention.

It's definitely ugly, but so am I and my wife still found a use for me lol!
