  • Anubis: the Ride is a Gerstlauer launch coaster at Plopsaland de Panne. Themed to Het Huis Anubis (House of Anubis), this Egyptian themed roller coaster features an intense launch, two top hats, and three inversions. Trees conceal much of the layout, making the elements even more exciting since you can't see what's coming next. Is this ride a hidden treasure? Find out in this review!

    100% agree with you. I really liked the launch, the tophat and the smoothness on this thing. 2nd half is a little lackluster.

    Great review! I like how Anubis' and Gold Rush's Dive loop and Immelman feel similar. It raises the hypothesis that Gerstlauer is much better at dive loops than they are at immelmans.

      The dive loop on the infinity coasters are snappier and more intense.

    The fact thet the launch is tucked away after the building made the first ride on this coaster as an unknowing guest very surprising! Especially because you gently turn out of the station in to the launch.
    Great review!

    This thing kicks butt. The positive Gs in most valleys in the first half were really strong, and the airtime surprised me as well. Launch is absolutely wild. This ride is better than Karacho for me

    Everyone is talking about ride to happiness but this and Heide the ride stick out. This is a very cool. Trains like DDD at SFOG but still has an intense launch and inversions. Not the longest ride but definitely a fun one.

    For people that don’t want to travel to Europe to ride this, there’s a clone of this called Dare Devil Dive Coaster at Six Flags over Georgia. Same layout, only with a vertical lift hill and beyond vertical drop, rather than a launch.

  • @alexbaker7722
    @alexbaker7722 Před 2 lety +1

    I really enjoyed Anubis, its got a pretty funky layout, and that barrell roll is sweet. I also thought the launch felt punchier than Fluch von Novgorod, which I didn't expect, but I'm not complaining. Good fun ride.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      This launch may have more punch, but the enclosed setting of Novgorod's amplifies the speed.

    • @alexbaker7722
      @alexbaker7722 Před 2 lety

      @@CanobieCoaster I tend to disagree, but maybe it's because people had overhyped Fluchs launch. I actually preferred this all round.

    • @mrgrass1232
      @mrgrass1232 Před rokem

      Maybe it’s because in Novgorod you have a bigger starting speed making it feel less punchy while it’s accelaration is more impressive, on another note I don’t know how consistent the accelaration is in novgorod but this ride got more accelaration in the beginning than the ending so if flush von Novgorod is consistent in its launch the jerk of Anubis is just as strong as Novgorod but Anubis is less consistent

    @lemonbread8019 Před 2 lety +1

    I've been on the other Gerstlauer 6-seater launch coaster, Lynet, and it makes Anubis look slow (pacing wise). It still looks great, but the pacing on Lynet is just comically fast.
    And regarding the strength of Gerstlauer launches, the reason they're so fast is that the trains are very small, so they weigh less and require less power to launch, meaning that the same amount of wattage can give a lot stronger acceleration.

    @Paolo8772 Před 2 lety +1

    I think it's time the coaster enthusiast community have a little talk about the exact parameters of track profiles that constitute a "top hat" element. It used to be a name for an element only found on TTD and K.K; the two tallest coasters that both had 90 degree approaches and also drops following the apex of each hill. The way things are going: in 20 years they'll call Steel Vengeance's fast yet tiny speed hill following it's 90 degree 200' drop a "top hat" (as though it wasn't bad enough people refer to it's following twisted giant camelback a top hat which is actually inferior to the outward banked hill that follows), thereby replacing every camelback with the term "top hat". Enthusiasts let this happen, the way they let the terms "beyond vertical" gain the meaning it does too.
    This isn't to criticize your review; I found it to be entertaining and I think it's a great coaster. As usual, I like this review. Thanks for posting!

    For me, Anubis was pretty rough. The ascent after the launch is the roughest moment i've ever experienced (granted I only have 78 credits). A few of the valleys also delivered some headbanging. Rest of the ride was pretty good though. The launch is exceptional. So... I prefer Heidi.
