Man. You're a real one to take time to explain why things work the way they work for those of who want to know WHY things work the way they work. Thank you!
no cap
Clear and concise. Maaan, great work throughout. You helped me figure out a few things with my audio. Was wondering why my volume was so low for starters. Nice video though brother.
THIS. I gave up on streaming because I couldn’t figure out the audio!!! You’re the best!!! Finally figured it out over a year later 😂 thanks!!!!
THANK YOU JUST THANK YOU! The streamer set up is a nightmare and you made it simple for people like me who need to replay things multiple times to understand it. Thanks a million!
I've been screwing around with trying to capture my audio for three days now. One day it works one day it doesn't and after watching 5 videos no one gave me a full solution I've just been trying to piece all the information together to get the best results but this video truly solved my problem thanks man!
hey bro im having the same problem how did you fix your audio?
You need the chat link cable I just now fixed it that way
@joke1294 would that fix my no audio coming into my headset problem?
All day I’ve been trying to figure this out. Method 2 worked great for me thank you so much! Simple steps, easy to follow! Thank you!!!
If you’re using regular OBS, go to audio input capture in sources and select the capture card. You literally have to add it in like it’s a microphone in order to get gameplay audio. I know it’s weird but that’s what worked for me.
godsend
You are amazing.
How do we get our voice in there tho
This is literally what u have to do to get the audio
@@donrightgaming1455 yea how tf do u get voice tho?I have a microphone and if I put the mic input the sound sounds retarded it's either one or the other
Man oh man you don’t know how much I appreciated this video…I was fixing to throw everything away because I couldn’t figure the sound out and tried everything…I can finally stream now thanks to you!!!
Excellent video! Clearest explanation I've seen for this process!
Wow dude. You are so far the best guide I've ever seen for live stream setups. Keep up the work 💪💪💪 and you've got a new subscriber 👍
Omg thank you!!! Been trying to figure this out all day. Elgato's official video on this wasn't very useful but this was!
God bless u bro.... U saved me a ton of work and overthinking why sound isn't playing while recording...
THIS! This is the best and easiest video I have seen that has helped me so much! My streams are now clean and clear with the second method! Thank you so much MidnightMan!! 👌🔥
If we do the hdmi tv method won’t the two mics in close proximity cause that echo/static/screeching sound? I just want to know before I purchase a second mic.
@@youknowcwilly6700 I haven't had any issues, since doing this. I have 2 Blue Snowball mics and they are fairly close together and I have had no feedback at all
I appreciate you bro, my brain was so clouded on where to start and how to start. Everything seems a little easier now
Great video thank you. You make a complicated process easy to understand.
Went above and beyond on this video. Greatly appreciated!
it doesn't work tho
Very thorough, thank you. I am having every issue you covered and I am exhausted trying to find the correct method for capturing game sound and mic sound together at the same time. As of now, I get one or the other, but never both. Thanks again.
Thank you so much bro, fire video. If i ever see you in person I’ll be sure tho thank you for helping me start my streaming career 😂 awesome stuff
Incredible video understood everything and also expirenced 2 methods beforehand
Your videos are really helpful man. Thank you
OMG FINALLY! Thank you for this video
Bruh. Life saving video. Thank you !!!
you are a legend mate, helped me make my live stream amazing, thanks heaps. liked and subscribed. really appreciate it.
This helped a lot!! Thank you so much
Dude, you're a genius. i wish i knew this earlier, but I'm eager to try the second method for sure. Thanks
Great video! Helped a ton, thanks
Been trying to find this answer all night, thanks bro. I subbed too
Thank you so much! I have been searching for months how to make analog audio louder as it was soo quiet compared to hdmi audio 😅 this is the fix I’ve been searching for!!

@@MidnightMan appreciate it bro.. yeah that video was awesome and high energy definitely need to try that & order a original hexgaming controller even if it’s $300 least I know it works
This is why I subscribe, great way in explaining everything!
Hey man Ik you said you gonna take the next few days off for the new year and you definitely deserve it I juss wanted to say thank you for this video. I was trying for months to get my party chat audio and desktop audio to work on stream and it finally did thanks to your help. I really appreciate it and hope you have a great holiday!!
If you don’t mind me asking how did you get it to work I’ve used the chat link but nothing seems to go through audio wise
very helpful video i couldn't capture any game audio during my stream this fixed everything in 5 mins !
Thank you, your videos are really helpful 😊
just found you with this info and so glad i have as it looks like its worked for me so thanks pal
Thanks!!! This helped a lot.
well done! great video very informal and to the point
Been having this problem for like 2y, this is my first comment ever watching yt for over 11 years, Thanks! ❤
Thanks man I had no clue what was going on but I got the cable and I'm good to good.
Ily midnight man ❤
Great video! :) Thanks mate!
This video has saved me multiple times.... today it helped me fix...
1. Plugging the chat cable into the USB mic first and wondering why it cut out the capture card audio whenever I plugged in the controller. Solution: plug the chat cable into the controller.
2. Whenever I have my controller plugged in, the sound cuts out from the capture card and doesn't get recorded, so it's just my voice and no gameplay audio (although I can hear it though the headphones) Solution: go into legato software and change audio capture setting from hdmi to analog.
After so much troubleshooting, everything is finally running smoothly. Thank you, sir!
Deserved a Sub! Beautiful Explanation
Hello I have a question I hope you see this and can reply!
There’s a 1 second delay between elgato capture card footage and the pc. If your voice audio is recorded from the pc mic, and the console footage audio (other person talking) is 1 second behind, won’t that make the two voices just overlap each other talking?
Thank you so much for this useful video! I usually use Discord while I play with my friends on stream but some ppl still prefer the PS5 chat. The second method was great since I already have a ton of cables for my streaming setup.
Does it record your Discord chat audio into OBS? I am totally new to this and just doing some research for when I start uploading videos and streaming.
Yes it does!@@ProspectGaming_
Love this ..thanks for this tutorial.
👌🏾 I truly appreciate you my boy for real.
Appreciate this video
Very helpful. Thanks.
Friggin genius this man is!!! Thank you lort!
One word. Legend.

ur the goat fr bro thank you!!!!!
very helpful vid!!
thank you sooo much it finally work
Thanks for helping me keep going 😅
Great video, very helpful! I do have one question about method 2. Do I really need 2 separate microphones or can I plug one microphone in the ps5 and use my pulse headset as the second microphone?
YOU'RE A GOD!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Hey great video! Just a question. Is there a way to use a headset mic (connected throug usb on ps4) on the ps4 for microphone?
While anothere pair of the headphone connected throug the monitor.
this guy is the audio king
Question for you. I'm using Streamlabs OBS and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what to add for the Input Audio and Output audio scenes. When I have the Elgato plugged in, headset and chat link connected, with an external mic, should it all be set up automatically when opening up Streamlabs? Or do I need to add in each source separately? Issue I have now is I can hear gameplay audio through my connected headset, but my viewers cannot hear my gameplay audio. They can also hear me just fine.
I use an HDMI splitter with audio extractor it works but the downside is I can't play in 4k or use HDR
Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same issues
@@c4_da_great Nope, I'm back here again trying to get the gameplay into my stream. It's the one issue I have now, so frustrating.
Great video, so just to confirm, using the Astro A40s and A50s are the only exception that will work to capture the game chat and party chat audio to record with OBS?
I love your vids keep it up
Thank you for watching! 😊
This is fax tho, nice video! Even though I don’t play on it, I understand because my brother sometimes streams on ps.
Perfect thanks!
Thanks so much!!
Thanks bro😊
Wow insane I been trying to figure it out for like 2 days
Thanks for helping keep going
thx for the heart
THANK YOU !! Im so mad because last year i bought the chat link for my series x (before watching your vid) ... a complete waste buying ... Now' over the last hour ive been trying to get this stupid game audio through streamlabs obs .. i watch your vid and you mention the chat link ... i hook it up to the ps5 and it works lol
So I’m using a 2020 MacBook Air with the elgato hd60x. I just opened it up and figured out how to get the video part working now. After I watched the stream and I noticed the audio wasn’t playing making me realize I really do need to do a check up on that before my next stream.I didn’t want to buy the chat link cable just yet before trying your method. I stumbled upon a method of my own following your steps. Im using my computer built in mic as my secondary mic being that I already have one port used for my elgato that’s already on an adapter and the other for my charger. I’m using my headset to talk to my team and I don’t mind if they aren’t heard to the stream because I usually don’t want their commentary anyways included. For gameplay sound I added the elgato video capture source like you said and changed the audio monitoring to monitor and output and it’s capturing my gameplay sound perfectly. 10:00
Great video! But was just wondering if i’m using 4K Capture Utility to record my gameplay and audio, is there any way to make the audio louder on that?
Hey man. Any recommendations for headsets?Mid range if possible as I've just blown alot of money on my set up😂 will 40mm headsets work with chat link method?
Hey question for you! I did the second method you have and I’m using a razer blackshark v2 pro on my Laptop, everything is working but I’m finding that when I’m in competitive games it always sounds like there is someone behind me, I’ve tried changing all the sound options on PS5 around but nothing is fixing it. Would you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
FINALLY!!!! 🙏🏼 I’ve been trying to help my daughter figure out how to get her party/game chat included in her PS4 stream and your video was the only one with a solution! 🙏🏼 Thank you! I do have a question though, she has the Elgato HD60X and the Elgato Chat link Pro and Blue Yeti mic streaming with PS4. Everything is working BUT her party/game chat echoes, not her, just party/game. Everything I find researching doesn’t fix the issue 🥴… please save us lol please
This helped me
czcams.com/video/1tpWXzcISQM/video.html
@@frostsixx4631 I fixed my issue already but thank you for taking the time to help! 🙏🏼 My problem was that I created an audio and video source for the capture card in the mixer when the audio part is not necessary as the audio is captured in the video source, essentially causing the audio to come through twice 🥴 I know, amateur lol
Well I ordered my el gato hd60 S+ & chat link pro. Once everything is hooked up I will def shout out your channel for helping me get started 💪🏾💯 thanks!
You're a hero
Quick question if you could! I have the Chat Link Pro and I have it set up with a USB mic into my PC ... But When I have my headset set up throigh 3.5mm aux, do I still need the USB that is originally with the mic into the PS5 ? Or do I leave it out? Also on my screen it doesn't say "Headset (Controller)" on my screen it says "Headphones (Controller)" am I doing something wrong ??
hi mate great video btw if i do the second method will i also get my friends voice also into my stream aswell as mine and people off game chat?
Thanks for your tips. Much appreciated!! Is there away to integrate Discord chat audio into OBS without using Virtual Audio Cables? I want to hear Discord chat and game audio output through my ps5 headset at the same time using my Elgato Hd60s capture card.
The “analog” part had me going crazy 😂
hey I know in the second way you said to plug the headphones into your computer, but could you get the same result by plugging them into the monitor if they had a headphone jack? or does this also prevent audio going to the PC?
Hey man, love the channel, I am having a problem with my setup, and maybe you can help. I bought a wired headset, the chat link, and the Elgato HD60 S+. I have audio coming from the headset perfectly fine but when I record it comes out choppy and there is absolutely no background noise to it. I tried the HD 60 X and had the same problem and I even tried adding them as their own audio input. Can you help?
Hey man, love your videos!!!
I have an issue and IDK what to do as I am not having luck with audio using gameplay/PS5 audio coming through my OBS. I have analog selected in my capture settings next to HDMI, but when I got back into OBS and try to do any of said things in 3 different videos I still can't get my audio to populate with my HD60 S capture card. On Mac, with PS5. My Mac has more than enough specs to run all of this, just not sure what else I should do. Kind of stuck here for a couple of days. Only gives me my USB audio device, or my macbook pro microphone. under audio settings next to Mic/Aux audio. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am about to just remove and re install everything haha
... So can I use Pulse 3d sony headset (wired)?? It comes with a 3.5mm cord.
This will work and the chatlink cable to record all things I need to record????
Hello mate, great video and just to clarify i would like to record my ps5 gameplay and party chat with my voice to obs using my capture card and all i need to do is buy a usb mic for the ps5 and change those settings in the second method is that correct?
This was all a great help? my question is when you're using the mic from the headset and the mic going to your PC, is going to make the stream hear you twice since IT IS capturing the party audio?
dude you're a genius
hello, hopefully you see this but i was wondering i use my an el gato hd60s+ and i use astros A40s and on my mixamp on the aux port i connected it to my pc to hear both pc and ps5 audio on one set of headphones but on streamlabs the audio is coming out from one audio mixer is it possible to split each audio? ( console, spotify, web browers etc) thanks
EXTRA INFO FOR THOSE READING THE COMMENTS!
Method 2 must be used if you want to hear sounds from PC like alerts.
You can also use your headset mic connected to your computer by selecting it as your default mic in your operating system audio settings. Then in OBS just select the “default mic” as your microphone.
Hi MidnightMan! Question: will I still be able to play - and have 4K resolution with 120fps when using the elgato? I’m not sure if it will let me play at 4k120 and that it will stream at 4k60. I’m totally nee to this so I’m tryna see pros and cons of using a capture card
I have a problem. I have every audio that I need, but my ps5 group chat won't hear me. I have a blue snowball connected to my pc, and it's my stream mic. I can hear my desktop audio and my game audio (as well as group chat) through my headphones that are connected to my pc. I set my headphones as default on my pc, and in OBS i selected the default mic. The problem is now the mic in my headphones is used as the mic in the stream, and no one still hears me in the group chat. Is there a fix?
is it possible to use method 1 - splitter with wired headset and mic for game chat, then high quality mic via USB to PC to capture stream commentary, and then use PC to play message alerts / music out loud? I'm trying to use my headset and mic for game chat, but high quality mic for stream, while being able to hear the stream alerts and music on PC.... it seems there isn't a solve for this, you have to have two mics (neither connected to headset) is that right?
when u click hdmi tv on the ps5 won’t it play through the tv/ monitor?
yo man this video is great. but im having a hard time hooking up my snowball to my ps5. it doesnt seem to recognize the mic. do you have any suggestions on what to do?
Hello!
I’m new to the all thing related to the gameplay video recording. Right now i’m starting and new channel and i hope to grow.
Could you please help me with some advices related to this?
What kind of software should i use for editting the videoclips from PS5
Many thanks
Nice work
I have a built in 4K Elgato Mk2 capture card, and have downloaded the 4K Capture utility. Do I need to download the software for the HD60 aswell? its just in the settings for the Capture utility, there is no Audio option to change to analogue, as the line in goes into the PC, not the capture card. This is what ive been struggling with for months and nobody has been able to help. I can get gameplay and game sound to go through OBS into stream, but game chat comes through the speaker on my PS5 handset. Is it a case im doing something wrong, or do I have the wrong hardware / software?
Hello MidnightMan! I want to ask, I have the Arctis Wireless Pro with base station. Can it not transfer chat audio to OBS desktop? I only get game audio from the PS5 but not chat audio from my headphones… I am using Elgato HD60X and a audio splitter.
Tip on the first method: if your are doing that on obs one thing he leaves out or definitely don’t show is once you have you audio for your console from your video capture on the audio mixer tap the little settings thing (on the right side of the audio bar) tap properties then tap configure video!!! Just did that an boom it showed that I was trying to get my stuff from Xbox when I’m using a PlayStation (also make sure to check the box that says analog audio) an after you do that do the gain thing he said boom your freakin good your welcome everyone🤟💯🤙 the guy in the vid did big help though but he definitely don’t show that part
Im confused on method 2
Your a beast with these videos man !
Would you be able to make a video on how to edit the picture quality settings of the obs since it doesn’t line up with the quality of my monitor
You can add filters to your picture to adjust the quality. Right click the source and select filters you can start playing around with stuff there
Only question, so when you use the two microphone method - can the microphones be by each other or do they need to be away from each other so no interference noise happens?
There will be no noise when they’re close. Just do not play audio out of any speakers.
Hey when recording gameplay on a ps5 with the Elgato HD 60 s+ is it still possible to play in 120fps even tho the Elgato would only be recording in 60fps? Because I have the original Elgato HD Capture card from many years ago and immediately when I plug it in, it caps my ps5 frames at 60fps because that’s what it’s recording at. Is there a work around that with these newer Elgatos or even that old one?
Appreciate the video! I have been working on audio problems all day and this was helpful! However, even with headphones added as sound sources and HD60+ selected as another audio source, I still can’t hear the game. I hear myself over my XLR mic just fine. Any advice?
same issue. no sound coming from ps5 to mac
Mine just has a delay after I set it up like he did tried playing siege was impossible
