  • Amazing Mixing and Mastering Tips reveals Ugly Truths. Why repeating after legendary mixing engineers can be harmful. How you got trapped by Studio Monitors and Studio Acoustics market. Why a Mixer is often not the one who defines the audio quality. Why you shouldn't learn how to mix in specific DAW. And why you should lean Mixing, not mixing in specific genre. To Attend a free trial Class of this Audio Engineering Course send email to: mixingcourse@andrewzeleno.com
In This Video We Will Talk About:
We will start with examples and reasons not to repeat after famous mixing engineers. Real reasons, examples. Then we will go to a very common trap related to how you buy monitors, headphones and acoustic panels and bass traps. Who this market tricks you. Then we will go to the common misconception that mixers define audio quality of the song alone. Honest talk about recording engineers, producers and mastering engineers. Then we will go to the last one but not least one. It's about how to learn mixing. Is it needed to learn mixing in specific DAW like Cubase, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic Pro. Also if you need to learn audio production or how to mix rap, how to mix rock, how to mix pop music, how to mix EDM?

!!! I use the most fair approach. No prepayments. You get a free trial class which is an online class with my current students. If you like it, you enroll. But still no payments in advance. You will pay only after you start the course and you can do it during the first week of a month. Not in advance. Also we have monthly payments. So you don't pay for the whole course. I will be proving that it's the top quality education class by class to keep you enrolled in. 99% of students finish all 9 months of the course. I've been doing it like that for 8 years in a row. Get the Free Trial class - it's a fair approach!

And again this is why this course of Andrew Zeleno is the perfect foundation for anyone that wants to take Audio engineering as a serious matter. It is no joke and believe me you will gain a significant number of years as a head start, without losing and sometime get confused over random CZcams "lectures". I a consistent very well crafted course that covers everything you need to find your path. I am personally already on my own path since I finished the course 2 years ago. Keep up the good work Andrew !!! you're number 1!

This guy sounds like the real deal. He's telling it like it is. It's about critical thinking, experience and real learning. Not superficial money based "education". I was always a little shocked when I'd encounter "professionally trained engineers" who knew how to mix one genre on one platform but were completely lost mixing any other genre or on a different platform. It was like, wait, are you an engineer or not? Listen to the genre, learn what option does what and MIX.

Thanks god i attended this course, its typical that some mixer says "i love this preset" and he is mixing tracks recorded maybe by Al Schmitt in Capitol Studios with a Neve 88RS or Joe Chiccarelli, guys who are already mixing while recording, then you try to copy this preset with tracks recorded at your home studio with your friends, it just wont work. This course makes you think like a real audio engineer instead of following your favourite engineer presets, and you learn to separate bullshit and marketing garbage from real needs and stuff that will work for You. The best investment i made in audio engineering world so far.

Hey Andrew, thank you for sharing all the valuable stuff on your channel.
So i had a question which has been bothered me since long...
I have heard that analogue moddeled eqs add harmonics, have unique curve and Q behaviour,
So i tried using analogue moddeled eqs from acustica, ssl native, softube, tdr and many more on a sine wave.
I didn't find any sort of harmonics being added but that was not the case for analogue moddeled compressers which did actually add harmonic distortion....
I'm really confused, does this mean that analogue moddeled eqs don't inherently add distortion like real analogue equipment unless they have some kind of drive/ thd knov?

    • @AndrewZeleno1
      @AndrewZeleno1  Před 3 lety +1

Thanks for the question. However due to the policy of my course I have this huge subtopic on this subject in Compressor Topic and in EQ Topic on my course. I have to share it only with my students. Anyway check the previous video where I exposed SSL channels emulation mistakes and I have Rare plugin secrets video which contain a couple of secrets.

The best song of the year (Grammy) VS my mix: czcams.com/video/00xu2IAbZtM/video.html
Ice Cube song I produced and mixed: soundcloud.com/andrew-zeleno/ice-cube-we-be-clubbin-remix-3
famous video game title theme I produced and mixed: czcams.com/video/WZ9QhP26bJg/video.html
But make sure you understand I was a senior audio engineer/producer for the biggest broadcasting company in Ukraine for 10 years. I'm not supposed to be a mixer for songs but in broadcasting. Now my occupation is a full time audio engineering teacher (full time since 2016). I'm not supposed to have my own work as songs as my job was broadcasting and later teaching. But you can check these song examples from above.
As you request to show my own work and my work is teaching here's an example of how I teach:

But still the best stuff I keep for the course. As I mentioned in the beginning of this video my videos are just light entertaining addition to my course. I provide a free trial class where you can see how I teach. So it would the best example of my work.

Based on my previous experience my comment section was commonly used to promote plugins/other engineers many times. I created a strong rules not to allow these activities. Even if you are genuinely discussing those things with each other here to keep up with my policies I have to stop this discussion as it may be one of those promotions. Nothing personal.
