- Another Allegromsn car, so it's obviously good! He brought it down for me to drive, and as I have never reviewed this specific car before it made sense to do so.

I like this; low mileage, necessary service done, wear items replaced. Allegro man has done a great job, well done!
Roverman - sorry - Allegroman does a very nice job of his cars. A fine specimen indeed 👍
He does indeed
Looks fab. Well done Allegroman.
I had a 416 GTi. Had it for 15 years and the build quality was amazing. The interior was like new when i sold it And no gimmicky touchscreen, lane assist and it had buttons and rotary heating controls for the heating. Simple but better abd safer to use than touching a screen. I miss rovers.
what a car,
Nice car 👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍
A few years ago my neighbour had a 216 and a then relatively new 25 with the project drive 'upgrades' . The vast gulf in quality was amazing. I remember the 25s interior looking knackered after a year while the old 200 despite more usage still looked fresh.
Yep, sad isn't it?
@@ProjectNigel if it were an American operation there would be Hollywood films staring Matt Damon made about Rover. I can only imagine the canteen with some suit metering the amount of marge going onto the thinly sliced bread whilst watering down the tea urn. Meanwhile the paint department are off to Poundland to get all the rattle can blue paint before it goes out of stock.
I drove my 25 1.6 from London to Birmingham on the M40 for PoL. No shortage of power. Complete shortage of sound deadening. Next year I'm gonna wear ear defenders.
I don't think they're that for long journeys
@@ProjectNigel Driving from London to southern Spain is a long journey (and why I have a Jag XJ diesel). London to Birmingham is in the same ballpark as a daily commute. The 25 is perfectly capable of it
Allegro Man always throws the Money 💰💵 in the right directions. 🚗......❤️.......🚗...........❤️................🚗........❤️👍.
I remember going to a rover showroom when I was 18 and wanting one of these, I think it was Tahiti blue si.
The problem was the price and the slightly haughty attitude of the dealer.
Great review.
Very Nice 👍
0:08 Yay ! Drive by shots! I can't do them as its usually just me.
I love them
What a lovely little car.A pair of foglights would complete it nicely.Ive added some attention to interior detail to my 3dr early 25 Paul.I definately wouldnt ever have a later one!
I had a 216SLi in British Racing Green with the beige dashboard about 20 years ago. This brings back memories. Would you believe it the head gasket went? 😂
Nice car, nice spec.
It sure is!
This is one of the last SLi-badged Rovers before Rover started fixing just '200' badges on the tailgates. This white SLi is amazing, just as I remember them when they were everywhere. Would Allegro Mann be allowed to work his magic on Dented Doris?
Getting to be a rare sight saved for many more years. Being 1600cc the £325 VED is a bit of killer on a small hatch.
Yeah that is quite a bit
@7:35 That would've looked like a street scene from a 1990s TV programme, if it weren't for the newish van and red Corsa spoiling the effect.
Would like to see it next to my MG3
Me too
Lovely car, shame its white!
My last Rover was a 216 SLi it was in Amaranth and it was named Purple Ronnie
It looks good in white
What the 25 "Could Have Been." Before the Cost Cutting ✂️🔪🤪 BULLSHIT Bean Counters came along....🚗.........🚗................🚗....................🚗.
Exactly that
The Mk1 25’s were decent quality it wasn’t until the Pro-dive things went down hill, I’ve got a low mileage early 1.6 and keep meaning to sell it then I drive it and love it’s nippy handling and don’t sell it 🤔.
Very good example I had a Rover 200 sli it was a good machine. But unfortunately the body let go😊
A really tidy car .
Are the lights glass by any chance 👍
No they're just a better grade of plastic
Who's Dee Tail?
A friend from Turkey
Nice tidy car. How much is it?
£1995 I think
It can be a sales pitch without letting us know the price? Guessing £1295
It's not a sales pitch, at least, it isn't until the end.
I would up you £200 to £1495, thats all the money I have 🤷
Cost of living crisis & all that. 😒
Another quality Allegroman car! Should be a dealer sticker! 😀
I had a 216SLi like this one (except black). I can confirm it was very nicely appointed and very well put together. It also drove very well indeed.
Allegroman turning into Roverman! Next thing he'll be turning into Bicycle Repair Man! (Have a search on CZcams for the Monty Python sketch - I can just see Allegroman fulfilling the role!) 😁
Yes I know that sketch 😄
Gearbox r65?
Yes
