Hunting rabbits in th UK with high powered lamps and lurchers (hunting dogs) and shooting with rifle. Its a method of rabbit control used throughout the UK.The lamps are used to find the rabbits, sometimes the rabbits will sit very still hoping you you dont see them but unbeknown to them there eyes will glow red when the lamp shines on them. The dogs often used are called lurchers but hunters will also use other sight hounds like whippets to catch the rabbits. Most importantly the dogs need to be trained to come back and to retrieve the rabbits and to be stock trained. The law on hunting with with dogs has changed alot however you can still lamp and use dogs to catch rabbits and rats but not fox, hares or deer. However lamping has been given a bad name due to poachers using the method to catch a meal or two without the permission from the landowner.
In This video I'm out lamping rabbits with the bunny bashers.
We head to the same permission we were on last time but since then the farmer has taken off his sheep so the lads have more fields to go at. The weather conditions hadn't improved much since last time we went but you gotta be init to win it.
I follow Ryan and had brought both his dogs (SKY and MOLLY) hoping to give them both some exercise. Sky broke her Leg a couple years ago and has had plenty of time of to heal. She has a brilliant style to her lamping, side stepping the rabbits before striking at them. Molly also made some great catches.
Thomas from GT PESTCONTROL was filming Adam and his dogs and they also managed a decent bag of rabbits. Watch his video

To finish the night Dale was shooting some rabbits that weren't in the best place for running the dogs. It was another great night out with the bunny bashers.

Watch my new hunting video.. LAMPING WITH LASS THE LURCHER . Very clear footage and some great runs. This is one of best lamping videos with my new camera. Lass caught 41 rabbits on the night. Stick it on the tv tonight. Switch the lights and watch it in the dark. I hope you enjoy it.

I’ve always said if it gets away from the dogs it lives to fight another day and that way the fittest serve and that goes for all species.
Nice watch but that lad can’t hit a barn door haha
Dogs worked fucking hard there good on em was looking forward to watching this video and buzzing for the next ferreting one. Fair play to the geezer shooting it looked quite breezy so not surprised about some of the misses
Good man Andrew nice video 👍👍👍👍 looking forward to the next instalment
It's going to be nearly 20 mins long . Will try upload it in the new few days.
Cracking video again there pal
another enjoyable video. keep up the good work. it baffles me how Yorkshire can sustain rabbit numbers like this there are lots of lads taking big bags. rest of country is virtually dead. 👍
It really is a huge place. I don't know how long it will last for numbers wise though.
keep going while you can & enjoy it👍
Yep... another excellent vid 👍🏼 . What camera and infra are you using ?.

Camera is a sony fdr ax100e
Don’t think Iv ever seen rabbit sit so well! Nice work
With some strong wind you can get really close. I had to nudge one for my girl friends dog recently because she couldn't see it under her nose. Lol
Only comment that comes to mind is that, love the clips keep them coming,,, BUT THAT BOY SHOULDN'T BE OUT WITH THAT GUN UNTIL HE KNOWS HOW TO USE IT CORRECTLY.
Lee Coomber accident waiting to happen
Cracking video again ✌🏻👍
Thank you
Very professionally done video and your dogs know there job, Your lucky to have ground that holds a few rabbits.
However rabbits are really struggling all over England at thy moment 1 disease after another they have to contend with, I don't even think they should be classed pests anymore. Disease, Buzzards Badgers, rabbit proof fencing everywhere and intensive farming to contend with they definitely don't need shooting from 10ft away or any range for that matter with a bullet riffle!! As a Lurcher man I couldn't think of anything worse than doing what you're doing there shocking way to carry on.
It's a sad story to hear they are in such a decline. Yes mate I'm not a keen shooter but I wouldn't disagree with it. I wouldn't envy a shooter In that area. Imo a lurcher would catch more than a rifle.
Andrew I love ur videos how do u train ur dogs for the lamp please get back
@@cilliankeane5640 I have no method apart from taking them and finding them the easiest runs possible. The pointer x I'm running is new to lamping. I found a few squatters with her and could almost kick the rabbit if I wanted to. But to get the dog looking down the beam I find it's better when the rabbits are on the move but hopefully need to come back towards you. Making it easier for the dog.
Andrew Reynolds Hunting if u brought a lurcher out tho would he automatically chase or would u have to train him for that too ?
@@cilliankeane5640 the chase is instinct with most lurchers. Striking might not be though. But still need to get all the basic training done first like recall and retrieving, sit and stay and livestock training.
Please what is the name of the lamp and what is its type
👌
Nice1 mate
U can tel a collie cross they weigh the rabbit up ....i like a dog to run regardless if it thinks its gona catch it or not
Me too. We had an old beastie collie cross and she was terrible for it but clever. Watch in this clip. Fly was 25 weeks old and I was 16. Bramble the beardie x did a very typical collie trait. Watch this.
