    Great presentation and easy to follow. My only request is that you go into more detail for the different sections. For example, when you change a photo, actually put the new photo in, or add a favicon explain more about the file format and actually install one on the site. Do you have more detailed videos for each section?

      Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. My new tutorials shortly after this I start going into more details. I don't go into as much detail as the favicon and file format or changing spacing and stuff but will be doing that soon. Videos are sometimes over 40 minutes long. I am going to be doing over an hour of the complete process this upcoming year.

      You're welcome! To transfer your files and the database here are the steps below. Start by backing up your website files and the database. Plugins like UpdraftPlus or manually backing up your files and database are popular methods. Next export the database. To do this, login to WordPress. Go to Tools and Export. Choose All Content and download the XML file. This file contains your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms, navigation menus, and custom posts. Next, copy your website files. Connect to your current hosting server using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or use cPanel's File Manager. Download all the files from your current WordPress installation to your local computer. Next, set up a new database on the new hosting and note down the database name, username, and password. Next, you’ll import the database. In your new hosting environment, use phpMyAdmin or a similar tool to create a new database. Import the previously exported database (from step 2) into the newly created database. Next you’ll upload the website files to the new hosting. Connect to the new hosting server using FTP or use cPanel's File Manager. Upload all the files you downloaded in step 3 to the new hosting directory. Next Update wp-config.php. In your new hosting environment, locate the wp-config.php file in the WordPress root directory. Update the database name, username, password, and host details to match the new hosting configuration. Next, update the site URLs. In the new hosting environment, go to phpMyAdmin and find the wp_options table. Update the siteurl and home options with the new domain. Next, fix any hardcoded URLs in JavaScript and CSS files. Check if there are any absolute URLs hardcoded in your JavaScript or CSS files and update them with the new domain. Next, update your DNS settings. If you are changing your domain, update the DNS settings to point to the new hosting provider. Lastly, test your website. HostGator also has a service where they can migrate or transfer the site for you.

      @wpcupidblog  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thank you! You're welcome! Any theme would work well with Woocommerce. Some good free woocommerce themes that have great performance are Astra, ShoppingCart, eStore, Botiga, Neve Shop, OceanWP, and Storefront. The Astra theme using Starter templates like the themes shown in this tutorial has great multi-purpose themes that come with Woocommerce enabled and set up to make things easier if you choose an e-commerce theme.

    what is dedicated hosting ?

    • @wpcupidblog
      @wpcupidblog  Před 9 měsíci

      Greetings! Dedicated hosting is a type of web hosting service where an entire physical server is allocated to a single client or website owner. Unlike shared hosting, where multiple users share server resources, dedicated hosting provides exclusive access to the server's processing power, memory, and storage capacity. This means that the client has full control over the server's configuration and can customize it to meet their specific needs. Dedicated hosting offers higher performance, security, and reliability compared to shared hosting but is typically more expensive due to the dedicated resources provided. It is commonly used by businesses with high-traffic websites, applications, or those requiring strict security and customization options.

    • @wpcupidblog
      @wpcupidblog  Před 10 měsíci

      Greetings! A couple things could be leading to this. If you just purchased Hostgator hosting with a domain name the domain might still be propagating. Another reason could be if your domain is with another domain registrar and it isn't pointed to Hostgator this could cause this showing. Also, if you pointed your domain name from another registrar it could still be propagating. If you chose https instead of http when installing WordPress the free Hostgator SSL Certificate takes some time to generate which could lead to an error showing. Let me know if all of those things have been done correctly and I can dive deeper into this! Always here to help.

      My apologies in the late response. I'm not always notified so it's easy to miss comments. My favorite is Optin Monster but it's a paid plugin. Free ones consist of MailPoet, Mailerlite, Omnisend, Mailchimp, and Convertkit.

      Absolutely! WordPress plugins that are good for security are Sucuri, Wordfence, and All In One Security and Firewall.

    I keep getting a 404 error for mine

      Greetings! The 404 error could be caused if you chose https instead of http when installing WordPress at first. Let me know if you chose http and still getting the error.
