- Yes this is yet another NZ Pils, I love them, what can I say?
This one uses Citra this time and is yet another 40 litre batch. Both kegs have since kicked and the next version is already kegged but here is my final goodbye to this beer. Lay it on me.

That Cascade and Nelson pils you sent me a while back was one of the best lagers I’ve had!
Yeah think that's the one that was best out of all the variations I'd done. So far at least.
Yes that's ok with me😅. Great video and just really making me want to get a brew down pronto . Powers on at the house so I could throw a quick kit brew down. Thanks for the inspiration as usual. Cheers. 😎👍
That looks great..Good head retention as well. Love the overhead brewing angle, 👍🍺
Cheers slurpy, trying to do different things rather than make the same video
Interesting difference between the Citra and Nelson kegs. I've only brewed with Nelson once (a pale ale), courtesy of Finnroo, who kindly sent me 100 g. It turned out fantastic, one of my best pale ales of 2023. Great video. Cheers
Love Nelson although I think I need to back off a bit before I get sick of it, next one I intend to leave it out (and probably regret it)
@@BigBananaBrewing 😆🤣🍺
My experience of it has been harsh bitterness when used hotside. Ill try again but keep it for low temp whirlpool / dryhop.

Never brewed with Nelson as not a white wine fan, Still that said It looks good and sounds lovely so you never know. Cheers Big B \_/
It looks a brilliant pint
It's a decent drop tbf
I much prefer Citra over Nelson. Not a massive fan of the winey/gooseberry flavour. It has its place and can be quite refreshing but Citra will always knock it out of the park in my book.
Brewed a lager a couple of weeks back - first I’ve done in ages. It was a clone of the Utopian British Lager and with the yeast (saflager W34-70) the recipe called for fermenting at 8 to 9 degrees which I thought sounded mad.
Was a proper slow but continuous fermentation took bloody ages. Now I’ve got to wait another 2 - 3 weeks while it’s lagering at 0 degrees.
I now know why I don’t make many lagers - too much bloody time and effort!
Anyway cheers Triple B. 🍻
That's the good thing about pressure fermenting, you can ferment at ale temps and it is done in a week. I find that that gooseberry flavour pairs well with grapefruit but it tends to take over if you don't get the mix exactly right. Might try next one without nelson altogether
I'm sitting at home drinking my version of the cascade one. Funny how a week or so later from my video the Nelson is taking over. I wonder is it cause I'm listening to you talk about gooseberry and grape the power of suggestions and stuff.
I'm definitely gonna invest in a snub nose, I never ever collect the yeast so the full system is wasted on me.
Did you ever do Manda-thingy-mabob bavarian? A sort of orangey-gooseberry-y mishmash might work?
Good vid as per usual.
Your thumbnails are knocking it out of the park fantastic. Have you not got a new BIG whisk yet ? That thing was tiny ( or has your hand grown 🤣 ) 😂 I love citra don’t think I’ve used Nelson , great looking beer indeed. Great vid as always cheers 👍🍻
The brew day was after whiskzilla but before whiskzooki so I was stuck with the baby whisk. The thumbnail was supposed to be the princess looking in the mirror and seeing someone else but it was too funny not to put me in there too. Tash and all.
@@BigBananaBrewing I’d love to have better thumbnails but I just don’t have the talent 👍🏼🍻
@@BrewabitRick artificial intelligence is the answer 😂
Nelson is my galaxy, I cannot stand it in any form in beer. Avoid the new world my friend…there be dragons.
Pretty Fly for a white guy.
