The El Cortez Hotel & Casino is a classic Las Vegas venue without seeming "old" inside; it is pleasant and even boasts a few coin machines for those interested in the sounds of clanking coins.
Thank you for the wonderful video! I have fond memories going up and down those stairs by table games to Room 222. What's nice about Nevada gaming (unlike Indian gaming in many States) is win percentages are reported to the State Gaming Control Board. So the El Cortez did not pull those slot "win percent" comparisons in the advertisement out of thin air. If you play slots, the El Cortez is the place to play. And if you enjoy the ambient sounds of the El Cortez, visit Slot Lady's channel. She loves the El Cortez and you'll hear the action in the background of her videos.
Thanks for the video. In all the years I've been coming to Las Vegas, I have never gotten to the El Cortez. 1941 was an important year for me too. It's the year I was born. I like the comments of yours about the music. The Sammy Davis and Frank Sinatra songs are more my kind of atmosphere. Thank you!
We enjoyed staying in the annex building in a funky green room, a little noisy, but the people that work there are super. I liked the coin slots. My friend had a room above the casino overlooking that big neon shoe. Didn't have luck on the slots, but that's not unusual. Did pretty good up the street at the D, with the old mechanical horse races. Thanks again for your videos!
Tracey, this version is slightly improved over the one uploaded just a day ago -- so the old video is no longer available. Thanks for making your comment in both places!
Great job on the review. I spent 4 nights in early December, was very quiet due to low season, will be going again in mid Jan. Just a real nice, classy casino and you did a nice job showcasing it.
Luv this place. I always get the free matches with Bugsy's picture on them. I add them to the souvenir bags I buy for friends. They always like them. Is there really bodies buried in the basement,
The El Cortez is my favorite place to play craps. I love the history of this hotel.
Great video. Pleasant voice. I can't wait to stop here. It seems historic and I can't wait to visit 12/18

I had never considered the El as a home base in LAS, but your excellent tour puts it on the radar.
You provide such great details both in your narration and the images you capture!
You are a class act Darlin......could listen to you forever.......!!!......
Years ago, during one of the recessions, El Cortez was advertising rooms for $6.
So in other words it became the "other" Motel 6.
Very nice tour, thank you.
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
The food at Siegels 1941 is excellent. Cafe style, lots of local regulars.

Thanks Tom. Enjoy your January visit.
Were the room rates cheaper in December than at other times of the year? And how about the resort fees? 😊
Dec is their slowest time so rooms are very cheap until just after Xmas. Yes, they have a resort fee but very reasonable ($13).
Staying at the El Cortez of Christmas 2019. Looking forward to the experience.
The way the casino is divided , it would be easy to break into. Oa
