Rio, The Linq, Treasure Island, MGM. We have had an overall good experience at each one. We have stayed at the Rio 3x! Within the past 5 years ( we liked it!) The Linq twice ( Hash House!!!! ❤). Treasure Island once and MGM once which we loved that pool experience too!!! We loved the pool experience at the RIO! lol (it was our first) oh and we LOVE CARLOS AND CHARLIES!!! been there twice, the environment is cool, food was good. Nachos!!! Never stayed at Flamingo but Go Pool twice and we have so much fun there!!! It’s a different type of fun from like the MGM pool. Awe I wanna go back to the MGM pool!! lol lazy river vibes!! Love it!!!

Not exactly debunked. You had an upgraded room so less likely to experience those problems. Thousands of rooms so probably a lot of different experiences. the ability and time the hotel can correct a fault is the BIG PROBLEM with the Flamingo.

I think to make this type of review accurate you need to look at the many different levels of rooms the Flamingo has. Thanks for the video guys, I have been with Caesars for 15 years as a Diamond member, and have stayed numerous times at the Flamingo, Bally's/Horseshoe, Paris, PH, and even stayed my first time at the Linq this past March, and let me tell you, that I have never experienced anything bad in any of my stays, and the rooms have always been clean, everything has worked properly, and I have always been very happy with my accommodations. I really enjoyed the Linq as well on my last trip so much, that I am now returning in 10 days once again to the Linq for a 7 night stay. Do issues happen? Of course, but the same issues happen in the nicer resorts as well. Do some people just love to complain, and look for bad things? Absolutely, but the same people will find something to complain about no matter where they stay, whether it's a 1 star, or a 5 star property. As long you guys went and saw for yourselves, that it's really not as bad as some people say, because many people are just miserable these days, and complain about everything, and love bashing business establishments, whether it's a hotel, restaurant, etc.

We used to stay at Excalibur A LOT! We were fine with it because it was cheap and we spend so little time in our room anyway. Never had a problem until they started pumping in some really nasty fragrance, and our tastes changed area-wise. Then we started staying at Imperial Palace (for a show time it then became The Quad, and now it’s The Linq), but got screwed when there was an unpredicted storm that resulted in the parking structure are getting flooded, they wouldn’t wouldn’t give us a room and frankly treated us like garbage (yes, we were nice and polite). They couldn’t possibly have cared less. Fortunately we got a room at Harrah’s. So after that, we began staying at the Flamingo, and we’ve never looked back. For example, my family stayed at Excalibur a half dozen times and never had any problems with their rooms. I will say you were given an upgraded room, and that really makes a difference.
I only venture to the Flamingo now to walk through the Wildlife Habitat with the flamingos, pelicans and various waterfowl. My parents used to love watching the penguins they used to have.
It’s interesting how different people react to the same experiences. I would take NY-NY over Flamingo 100% of the time. For me, the Flamingo has the better bathrooms and pools, and NY-NY has the better rooms, entertainment, dining, casino, atmosphere and location. The biggest factor, though, is that I feel much safer and less crowded at NY-NY.

Last time I stayed at the Flamingo was 6 years ago for EDC. I was given 5 days comp and no resort fee but after 4 days of not getting my room serviced even after calling multiple times I left a day early for the MGM. I posted my issues with photos on Twitter and as I was checking out a manager came over and talk to me and apologized and gave me his card saying that he will take care of me on my next visit but I never returned. When I first saw the title and thumbnail of this video I thought you were going to destroy Flamingo and I was NOT happy. Very happy to see the objective review. I think online reviews are a combination of isolated experiences, poor guest behavior, and Sore Loser mentality where it somehow gratifies the author to slam something publicly. I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in about 20 years but am glad to see it's mostly the same. Your room was definitely an upgrade, just based on the floorplan alone. I remember when the "GO" rooms were new and how avant garde they were at the time. Those are probably the older rooms now. The pool grounds are beautiful but - and this is so funny - the water was freezing 20 years ago, too! They've GOT to do something about heating those pools; that's ridiculous. One favorite spot in the property now missing is the buffet :( While not incredible food by any means, it had a beautiful huge viewing area out to the flamingos while you dined. I wonder what that space is now. Also, sad about Margaritaville's closing - I always thought it fit very well into the theme of the place. The attached themed casino was great, too - now gutted and apparently becoming something else.

In the late 80's and through the 90's I stayed there many times. But the hotel was associated with the Hilton brand back then and was called the Flamingo Hilton (we got Hilton club points). Then in the late 1990's things started to change quite a bit. They did some room renovations and the rooms we got were not as nice as ones we had before. The Pool area actually had two pools; one was for quiet times and there was also a small water slide. Then they roped off the quite times pool and charged a fee to use it. I used the hotel's buffet many times but last time there the buffet was closed. I have not stayed there since the Vegas hotels began charging the "resort fees" and charging for parking. Those are the main reasons I don't go to Vegas any more

It should be unlimited and the parking. They have almost a whole floor for the Hilton hotel guests and they’re always empty and you can spent ages trying to get a space. It once took me an hour on a Saturday night to get a space. Advise if you have a car on the weekend park before 6pm otherwise you’ll be searching for a long time. Otherwise I love the Flamingo! 🦩

Stayed here many times..YES they do need some renovations but everyone was pleasant and kind..we had a STRIP GO ROOM and loved it despite it being a little older..being right next to the LINQ Promenade was great and being in the center was GREAT to get around cause I am older..they cleaned our room everyday and gave us all the extras we asked for…sometimes attitude will get you what you want or don’t want…just saying..LOVE YOUR STUFF JOSH AND RACHAEL❣️❣️❣️

Comments pertaining to hotel staff and those interactions are what I pay attention to. Room quality on these old places vary greatly and once, at The Stardust, we requested a room change and they not only immediately accommodate us, they upgraded us for the inconvenience. Probably unusual result there but, if you’re pleasant in your request, you can get a good result.

Stayed at the Flamingo for two nights a little over a week ago and for the price I was reasonably happy with it & would likely stay there again. It was very clean & I didn’t see anything that was damaged or falling apart other than that the buttons on one side of one of the elevators didn’t work., I did have the experience that the hot water in the shower only ever got lukewarm & no one came into clean the room but that could very well be because I had the do not disturb sign on the door until about 11am & that may have cost me my chance to get the room cleaned; still slightly annoying but potentially at least partially my own fault. The one other issue I had was largely my own fault (though things could have been a bit more clearly marked) & that was that the parking garages for the Flamingo & for the Cromwell are right next to each other & I accidentally parked in the garage for the Cromwell rather than the one for the Flamingo & it resulted in my overpaying for parking.

A year ago we stayed in one of the Go rooms. At that time they had no one at the reservation desk, it was all use the machines. When we got to the room, it had not been properly cleaned. It took over a day to get it cleaned. The water & shower were great, we were 3 floors from the top looking at the Bellagio(another plus). Not many places have a coffee machine or fridge. I wasn’t impressed with the pools(I don’t trust having to bring ID & have it laying around). My sister wasn’t impressed in the least with the state of the Flamingo from the first time she was there. It wasn’t grungy, it’s old & has the old Vegas feel. Would I stay there again…yes.

    • @JoshRachael
      @JoshRachael Před měsícem

We reviewed the room we had, we read a number of 1 star reviews that did not state what room they were in all with similar complaints which we condensed into the ones we showed. We can only share what our experience was, and we were not seeking a bad stay or room.
Not cleaning rooms, rude staff, leaving rooms dirty and hot water issues are not based on renovations, they show a system wide problem and if it was a consistent pattern we would have experienced them, but we did not.

Yeah that water at Go Pool is FREEZING!!!! But yes lots of fun! My husband and I are 42-43 and we love it!!!
But yes crazy crazy expensive for drinks. price a bit more than other pools. $39.99 for a Tito’s and soda water!!! And yup $79 for a “bucket” of like 5 beers! Would we do it again!? HELLS YES!!!! Getting a bed is so worth it!!! $175 ( what we paid) $100 minimum. We made a day of it, got food it was also sooo good!!! Pool water at Linq felt soooo much better but Go Pool we love❤
Just plan if you’re gonna go and you wanna do stuff like that just know you’re gonna spend money. Yep, especially on the strip. My husband and I have been going every year now for roughly about the past five years and we just got back here at the beginning of June, we went the end of May And I know everything cost even more than it did two years ago even a year ago. At the pool before we’ve paid 50 for the same bucket of beer I did see like some of the other hotels still have some buckets of beers under $70. But the Go Pool $79!!! It’s robbery at its finest lol BUT 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s a good time. We had fun. And yes I know cost up everywhere!!! But Vegas… it’s WILD!!!

Obviously, You must have stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms. That room looked pretty nice. Tina and I stayed at the Flamingo in 2017. The Flamingo had the worst check in experience we have ever had. It was horrible. There was no hot water then either. I complained. The room was pretty nice. We had a very large room with two TVs. The lady said the boilers were old. We stayed again in 2019 - the room was ok at best. Again, there was no hot water. Again we were told the boilers were old. The drain in the shower was clogged. They supposedly came up to fix the drain in the shower, but they didn't. I got down and actually pulled a rats nest full of hair and junk out of the drain with a coat hanger or something. It was nasty. But, I unclogged the drain. The entire atmosphere of the Flamingo had changed in a matter of a couple of years. We get comped rooms all the time at the Flamingo, but we have not gone back. We do like the casino floor. Maybe considering your review we might give it a chance - the newly renovated rooms seem better.

Oldest strip hotel, with little updates would explain some of the wear and tear. Since you’re center strip, not sure why you would need a car unless you’re driving in from out of town. Also, some resorts will waive the parking fee if you reach certain tier levels on their casino cards.
