  • I'm not to sure on this one, I know the start and end of it is a redo of "Come on down"
    but I believe the the middle portion is used for grocery items.

    This used to light me up as a kid. Nothing better than being a kid in the 1980s when you miss school because you're at home sick with a cold and then you wake up with this playing on the TV! Bob Barker, Campbell's Soup or Cup O'Noodles, Vicks, and 7Up were the remedy to beating any cold!

      Television City is no longer owned by CBS.

      @@Rlotpir1972 Nope. Sold to a private investor in 2018. But CBS is the only tenant, and although their exclusive lease ends next year, I'd be surprised if they went anywhere.
      The CBS logo is still on the front of the building, facing Beverly Boulevard, and if you're shopping at the Grove, you can see a smaller logo on the south-facing (back) side of the studio.

    It's the original "COME ON DOWN!" cue music & the "Item Up For Bids" cue music in it's original form.
    Edd Kalehoff's a musical genius!
    ...and Bob Barker's a great game show emcee! He cannot be replaced, especially as host of "The Price is Right!".

      I couldn't think of the actual names of contestants three & four, so I thought up two other "pseudonyms". Paul Levine was invited back as a contestant in 2010. He looked as if he put on a little weight & his hair was whitish-gray. He looked good after nearly 40 years between appearances!

      Paul Levine's bid on his showcase was $2500 and the ARP was $2504!!! Paul didn't win both showcases, because the DSW rule wasn't put into play yet in 1972.
      Paul Levine is STILL the KING of THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!! Even nearly 45 years later!!! Bravo, Paul!!!

    Dang what great memories. The REAL L.A. music scene, 1974-1977. Cruising in Century City. Night drives down Beverly Blvd. Fast wheels down Ventura Freeway. Great escapes to the Santa Monica pier. To turn back time again.

    Whenever I hear this theme music, I always picture the original 'Barker's Beauties' (Janice Pennington, Holly Hallstrom, Dian Parkinson & Kathleen Bradley) modeling an "IUFB" prize!
    Bring back the good ole days of "TPiR!". I wonder what all of the above ladies are doing now?

    So they used the beginning for Come on Downs during the show, the middle part is for grocery items, most notably during "Hi-Lo", the end is the Come on down that's used at the beginning.

    I'm glad I've found this one again. I'd always think it was a part of Come On Down. But at 0:38 I was back in time. I'd almost hear it when they played the Grand Game, Grocery Game, Take Two, Temptation and Hole in One.

      I’m not good at adlibing, but I have considered going back and watching a few episodes and transcribing the copy and just try doing it myself while I’m listening to it. I guess you could almost call it Johnny Olson karaoke

      Keyboardist I believe was Edd Kalehoff, who wrote the tune. I'm not sure about that, but Kalehoff wrote a lot of cues on TPIR with Robert Israel, and keyboards were his first instrument.

    What you hear at the beginning of the clip entitled "The Price is Right, Come on Down 1979-2007" begins with what's heard at the 1 minute, 40 mark of this track. I just think it would be neat to edit the two track together accordingly.

    here's what i thought, should Price see 50, and Bob and the originals that still are living, I thought this theme could be used, and if only for this huge show, bob and the originals let bygones be bygones, and all come out through the double doors and grace the audience with their presence. also, the originals could work alongside the new models, just to show them how it's done.
