While I'm not interested in painting the PS5 I don't even have yet, I've been researching those paints for other purposes, in my case, backdrop for my style of gaming videos, and there's a way you could achieve it: the Musou black fabric. You could buy a replacement PS5 shell, and wrap it tightly with it, and cut it in the shape for the middle bit. No fingerprints, no scratching, and the look you wanted.
@@RomanDoes Well you have to do more Coats. I use that stuff a lot if you contact the company they tell you basically the best primer. There's a few good water based primers. However there's a few other things he could have done to his playstation so it grabs the paint easier. However you can make it smooth the paint if you just take longer and be more patient. The black 2.0 is the best primer one code of that and then wait. But you have to do it in the right temperature of the room. If the temperature changes it you have to start all over again. Solve it in the instructions video.
@@RomanDoes I have plastic panels in my car that have that paint on it and they don't peel. It just means that you didn't put enough on it if it peels off that simple with your finger.
@KC G primer is not protecting paint from fingerprints and scratches... you can prime it 10 layers if you like, paint is on top of the primer. How is primer protecting the paint from fingerprints and scratches?!! 😀
Yes it will you have to print it if you watch the video from the manufacturer? It tells you step-by-step. You have to have a heated room as to the right temperature it lasts I put it in my car. It doesn't peel or flake. This guy won't let it go
It's a water-based acrylic paint. If you are going to spend 25$ on a tiny bottle of musou black, why not spend a few more bucks on a protective matte finish and priming the cover? Buying a new black cover for your PS5 is completely different from trying to customize the original. Sony doesn't make a cover that absorbs 99.4% of light. What's the point of this video?
@Flying Pussyfoot where does it say I did it incorrectly? I don't show the painting process in this video. It's your assumptions telling you what's wrong. All I imply is that this paint is too fragile and retains dirt on it.
@Roman Does Consumer Tips so you did put a protective coat on it? If not, that wouldn't be the right way to do it. If your point is that water-based acrylics aren't strong on plastic, why use musou black? It can be done without it scratching off when done properly. You obviously didn't do that, so I don't need to see the process.
Dude WDYM “nobody talks about”??? Literally EVERYONE talks about how handling this paint in any way ruins the effect. Fonzie from Dip Your Car was the first person to use this paint in TWO major projects (cars). Throughout both videos he REPEATEDLY states that the stuff is fragile and cannot be encapsulated because anything touching it ruins it. Every other video I can find has said the same about ALL the hyper-black paints…Vanta included.
it defeats the purpose of all super black paint as any top cover will limit it's absorption hence it wont absorb the light as intended and will turn into plain matt paint instead
Do you know how all these super black paints work? They absorb the light energy. The colorless top coat will make it shine, how will it absorb the light then?
It's not he same as vantablack or black 3.0 either. I guess it also has thermal reactions and melts some of the things people are painting it on. That and you have to use a respirator with this paint. Also he was showing clips from black 3.0 and not this Japanese paint and I always hear that black 3.0 is more matte and this one's shinier. Sorry I've been watching a lot of these black painting review videos.

@ELW Picaro with this paint sanding, primer won't help. The paint itself is not durable. It's too textured

Sanding, primering, PAINTING, adding protective paint layers. Thats the way to paint something, otherwise just buy thick protective paint altogether.
There is no protective layer on this type of paint. It supposed to absorb the light, not reflect it

You didn't put the primer on right and you didn't do enough Coats? Probably didn't. In the room temperature that it needs to be done.

nah, it adds an extra thermal insulation layer to it. Better go with prefab panels.
