Blue-Moon Emergence of Cicadas (PC-98 Touhou-style Original)

Thumbnail image by Journal-News. 2024 also marks spectacular phenomena in the Eastern US - two different broods of periodical cicadas emerging at the same time. We know these guys usually have red eyes, but only one in a million have blue eyes.
I envisioned this original as a summer version of The Dark Blowhole from Subterranean Animism. This is the last of my inversion series where I take the first stage theme of a Touhou game and invert the seasonal feel.
This is only the beginning of summer. I will be going back to PC-98 remixes for next week.
