As a veteran myself, I can vouch for all these tips. I have stressed about buying games too much for many years. You inevitably will miss out on that one hot game that's sold out in the first half day (looking at you Ark Nova), but don't stress. If the game is a hit, it will come to stores anyhow. The one thing you can't buy later in the year, is the experience of meeting people. Sitting at a table with literal strangers from across the world, who enjoy games just as much as you do. Or Talking to the game author, who is just as much a geek as you are. With very few exceptions, I've met hundreds of kind and fun people at Spiel. And if you're staying at a hotel, the fun just continues for the rest of the evening at the bar.

Give us a wave if you spot us in the halls! You know what my face looks like 😊
Thank you for the tips. They were very useful for my first Spiel adventure.
Confession: we forgot to bring a big bag and enough to drink. We should watch our own videos...
Looking forward to seeing you there! :)
Thank you for this guide! I will be a SPIEL newbie for the first time this year, so this was really helpful! 😍
And you are in for a treat: busiest Spiel (number of exhibitors) in history! Enjoy
@@BoardgameNinjas Yes, I just read that on the SPIEL website! Well, getting the feet very wet for this first time, I suppose. ;)
@@CardboardGuide How many days are you planning to go?
@@BoardgameNinjas I will going from Thurday to Sunday, purposefully going all days, to allow myself a break and not stress too much. ;)
@@CardboardGuide You won't get bored, or just get at a table and play with a total stranger... ;-)
25 years! You must have been buying from the HABA booth when you started attending.
Oh that is so sweet! We immediately feel twenty years younger. Thanks 🙂
