  • My review of a great and affordable 12V portable air compressor I've been using for years. It's one of the faster filling air compressors available. This is an essential part your vehicle emergency kit!

    I'm surprised it didn't blow a fuse, since the instructions clearly state to turn on the compressor first, then connect the hose to the tire to avoid blowing a fuse. Recently, I discovered a flat on one of my tires and drove to buy this compressor. It worked great and the gauge reading was accurate.

      In this case it worked just fine because the tire was flat. If the tire started with a reasonable amount of pressure in it, then you do need to turn it on first to avoid blowing a fuse.

      I can't stand the tip, we must thread onto the tire valve. I'm in the process of replacing it. Anyone know the inner diameter of that yellow coiled hose? I've got a temporary regular style 1/4" npt connector on the hose end now so I can use a regular tire fill chuck. It's a million times better than that idiotic threaded tip. I'm gonna use straight hose but need another connector to attach to the pump, which I can't fine, it's an odd one. I'd also like an extra stud that sticks out of the handle. Harbor Freight sucks, they don't have any parts for this pump. Otherwise it seems like a decent pump. Please help, thank you

      The tire was totally flat, so there was no load on the compressor. Therefore it did not matter.

    I no this a old video but there a big difference in the way this pump performs if throw the lighter socket its not to good specially if car not on for best performance get a battery to lighter adapter and turn the car on the speed and fill will increase alot faster than anything else. If threw car lighter and car off it really struggles to reach the fill and will get quite hot specially if it a truck tire. Just a fyi tip.

    I have one for each vehicle. They could improve the product by including a small supply of the correct fuses.

    Thanks for great review. What type of quick connect is used on the hose? Can you get replacement hoses?

    • @RS-oo5jo
      @RS-oo5jo  Před 3 lety +2

      I'm unsure exactly what type of connector it is. I can tell you it's not the normal automotive/industrial quick connect. It does not connect to any of my air compressor fittings or nozzles. I'm also unsure on replacement hoses, although I've had mine for maybe 5 years now and the hose still looks like new.

      @@RS-oo5jo Thanks, that the hose is long lasting is good news. I haven't bought it yet but a forum said its a NITTO coupler, a Japanese type, now I need to confirm the size.

    • @Hundert1
      @Hundert1 Před 3 lety

      @@artyzinn7725ohh, excellent! Please keep me posted as soon as you find out about that Japanese Nitto coupler and where we can get them, like on Amazon. I hate that threaded tip. I'm in the process of building my own hose so I can put on a regular type tire fill chuck. Do you know what the inner diameter of their yellow coiled hose is? And where we can get that coupler/connector that attaches the hose to the pump handle? Where can we get more of those and the male fitting that sticks out of the handle? I removed that stud sticking out of the handle and it's not regular 1/4" npt type. Otherwise the pump isn't bad. Thanks

      Does the coupler weaken after use??? It does not hold when I release the spring!!!

    The manual says to lubricate the shaft and piston ring after using 20 times. (by a certified tech) Has anybody had this done? Has it failed anybody for skipping this?

    I picked up Husky 12v inflator today at HD on sale for 30$ just because of the sale. Saw reviews that ut HF and Husky at a tie but HF has the nice bag and you showed the quick disconnect which seals the deal for me. I'll return the Husky and wait for the HF pump to go on sale this Christmas season. I recall a review where someone said the internal piston was metal, most are cheap plastic. I think that was project farm, anyone know if it is metal?
