I have recently acquired a new Triton, and I must admit that I am a bit apprehensive. In the past, I had a Bosch GOF 1600, and it was not a reliable machine. The Bosch required frequent servicing, which was a major inconvenience for me.
However, I am delighted with the performance of the Triton. It's a great machine!
Thank you for the informative video.
Did you get the 3hp triton? I’m concerned about the weight.
I have the TRA001 in my router table. For the most part, I love it. The one thing that drives me insane is that stupid switch lock. The TRA001 provides you the option to change bits above the table, but I still have to reach under and around to get to that stupid little door before I can get it over the table top. I get the safety aspect, but it's still annoying.
And it usually takes me a few tries to get the height adjustment to engage properly.
I finally lost patience with my multiple routers being too difficult to adjust and change bits, and took delivery of the 3 1/4HP model last week. Been thinking about one of these ever since your first video many years ago. I suffered needlessly for too long! I'm actually looking forward to cutting out my next neck pocket!
My TRA001 is in a Kreg router table! It’s really nicely and thoughtfully designed and boy is it meaty to use - love it! 🥰🥰🎸🎸
I still haven't had a chance to use my Ninga turtle one yet, looking forward to that.
Can I ask where you bought your Triton TRA002 router I’ve been looking everywhere for one and I can’t find one for sale in the uk.
Thank you
I use the lighter JOF001, and even at only 1050W it's still plenty powerful enough to handle anything I throw at it! The only feature I don't have with it is the rack & pinion plunge.
Mine is only missing the rack and pinion adjustment, but it does everything else. I wouldn't downgrade it for anything else.
What is your recommendation for small band saws. I've been looking at a desktop Axminster Workshop but wander if I could get better value for money from a different brand. Triton doesn't make those yet.
Nice routers. However the moving "this is so real and raw" style camera work is just painful...
Crowe Jr was on a work experience day with dad recently, shadowing him with a webcam. It's unusual for them to tie up a staff member with cam zoom duty, so maybe this is a one-off from that day.
@@PaulCooksStuff not the first time I've noticed it on the channel...
Well, I've seen less positive reviews from carpenters without business relation to Triton.
That's what kept me from buying one for so long. But then James Hamilton of Stumpy Nubs Woodworking (who does not seem to have a relationship with them) gave it his blessing and that kicked it over the top for me. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks for not being one of those people that stands at a workbench using a battery powered router. All of those would have been in the landfill 8 years ago if battery powered.
