Exactly! I'd chose those three as well. I was living in London in 1984 (from the US) and remember hearing "Absolute" (song) for the first time in Camden Town Market (the song was released at the end of May, 1984). I was so excited because, already in 1984, I was wondering if the musical halcyon days were over and what I heard come through those speakers was beyond fantastic.
Remember hearing this for the first time on my family's brand new Sony stereo system that our father bought us in 1982. Have to think my big brother for introducing me and my sister to Heaven 17. Still sounds amazing!

This was and IS a badass base line!! As much as I love this song, and as tight as it is...that bass line drives it! Thanks for sharing! So much for electronic music being push button no effort junk. TIGHT band!!

Can you imagine both Phil Oakey and him standing side by side today. They’d pass up as brothers. Lol! These were the same guys that were originally members of The Human League before they went their separate ways to form Heaven 17.
To correct an earlier comment, although Angie Brown has worked with Heaven 17, the exceptional blonde singer at this performance is Billie Godfrey, who's been a member of the band since the mid 90s.
Billie Godfrey is sensational. The rest of the band aint bad either. That bass and drum combo is spotless, super funky, super clean, super groovy. Amazing performance.

Brilliant. The only problem is trying to match 80's production live. Difficult. And nobody can get close enough to Carol Kenyon on Temptation. Never head anyone match that vocal.
I have the album, so great to see them perform it live. 'Witchita Lineman' really surprised me. It's a beautiful song by Glen Campbell, and they did a wonderful rendition of it...that, and 'Boots' showed they're not afraid to step outside of their 'box' and try different things. I liked the fact that they gave the bass player the role of 'lead guitar' as it worked well and he was fantastic, as were the others. Wished I could have seen them live.

Fantastic group , extreme good singer and the back up vocals of the man on the synthesizer is making it unforgettible ....
The man on the synthesizer would be one of the founding members of both Heaven17 and Human League - Martyn Ware.
This band is all about the bass player. That's how it was in the eighties and still is. Amazing.
