In case you two were confused about the "Super Reunion" Skit, they were making jokes about how DBSuper takes place within those 10 years/after the Buu Saga & before the end of Z.

It's somewhat appropriate that I get around to this video the day after Dragon Ball's creator's death was announced.
Hearing MasakoX do the Super Saiyan 3 scream was immensely satisfying, because you could feel for that brief few seconds, his voice transitioning from TFS Goku to something more guttural and similar to actual dub Goku as he screams. Even when he talks in that form after, there's still this growling rasp to his tone that really helps sell the primal nature of Super Saiyan 3, and I'm sad that we only get to hear him use this voice for that brief little clip.
About the narrator coming back at the end. When the Buu saga finally came out in Japan fans at the time noticed that the narrator wasn't doing the pre ED narration anymore so Toei had the narrator come back to confirm Vegeta's death. In TFS's case the narrator also stopped showing up after the android saga started
Actually I heard it was because the kids didn't know if he was dead or encased in stone like Piccolo was during that arc so they had the narrator come back to confirm that he had died

I also love how T4S made Super Buu even more terrifying with the voices of people he absorbed
Yeah that part was truly creepy
And punctuated by their remix of the Super Buu theme from the original English dub. I was sad that they missed out on so many great tracks (like that and the Super Saiyan 3 theme) from the Buu saga due to the Kai dub only using the Japanese score, but glad they at least got to hear snippets of them through TFS. Especially given how opinionated Kaiser is when it comes to the Japanese vs English dub music for the show.
Fun fact about "Are you even allowed?" : Mr. Popo in some of the reruns of the whole DBZ series was actually censored and "dyed" purple, you know to give him more resemblance to genie from Aladdin (you know he already had a turban, vest, pants, shoes, earrings, flying on the carpet) because some people found out that his appearance might be offensive XD
It IS kinda funny how they have Goku suggest the Spirit Bomb here when it was actually Vegeta's idea, but hey, it was funny in this context
They def had some neat ideas here, getting some pay-off's for long-running DBZA jokes, it's nice
I doubt that there's anyone who can surpass TeamFourStar in terms of making quality good abridged series

Here the references to "a super meeting.":
1. with Black Freeza they mean that in the most recent chapters of the Super manga, Freeza reached a much stronger form than Goku's ultra instinct and Vegeta's ultra ego.
2. When Goku talks about how he was black, they talk about Black Goku, the villain of a Super arc where they face an evil kaioshin (Zamasu) who took Goku's body to eliminate mortals.
3. When Trunks talks about dyeing his hair, it is because in the manga, Trunks has blue hair like his mother's, and with Goten, once he grew up, his hair was no longer identical to his father's.
4. When Vegeta asks if the above was before or after meeting Broly and Goku asks him which one, they were referring to the two Brolys (the evil one who appeared in Z and the good one who appeared in Super).
5. When Bulma asks what happened to Beerus and Vegeta replies that he thinks he is napping again, they refer to the question of why in the ending of Z, Beerus and Whis are no longer with the Z Warriors (taking into account that Super comes before these chapters).
5. When Goku refers to Jiren, he talks about the fighter he faced in the Tournament of Power Super arc, who was so strong that Goku had to awaken the Ultra Instinct ability.
6. Bulma asking if they even defeated Freeza is because, as the manga goes, they raise the question of how this matter will end, since supposedly in this chapter they already resolved that issue
Funfact: Sean Shimmel the original voiceactor of Goku "almost" or actually did not sure.. passed out at the recording of the Super Saiyan 3 transformation screaming.. wonder why. 😆

As much as I love TFS that scene with Pan is one of my gripes about them. They re always quick to jump on the hate train for something. Broly is an example. I can bet you that none of TFS have even watched GT in at least over a decade. Because Pan in GT is actually not a "wasted character".
Yeah she is. She gets in trouble throughout the entirety of gt, she serves no purpose either. You could literally take her out of it and replace her and nothing would change at all. Matter of fact trunks can get in that same boat cause goku did most of the work himself
@@specialnewb9821Only because GT was supposed to be a Dragon Ball style "Adventure style" show rather than a Z type, "Battler". Like ofc there was meant to be fighting, but it's supposed to harkin back to OG Dragonball with Goku as a kid looking to find the Dragon Balls with a smaller cast of more diverse characters with a focus on comedy and exploring the galaxy. Fans hated the start of GT so they inevitably pivoted back, powering Goku up to SS4 and making him able to become an adult again to get the big fights going again.
The back half of GT is just Toriyama emulating Z again and Pan was designed to be useful in the classic DB first half, so she was put to the wayside. It's not just her, Trunks was supposed to be part of the line-up (Him, Goku, Pan and the little Robot whose name escapes me) and he gets done even dirtier than Pan. He did NOTHING during the Super 17/Shadow Dragon Arc and ofc they brought back Vegeta instead because that's what they needed at that moment to keep anyone engaged with the show as it was.
@@MrMeddyman The show runners for GT also admitted they hated Pan and refused to do anything useful with her and just used her as a element to make everything go wrong. That is literally her whole character from the writers themselves.
And Toriyama had literally nothing to do with GT, it was written entirely by Toei staff with zero input from Toriyama beyond a vague, "sure I don't mind if you do something with the ip". (which he regretted and took a more hands on approach to consulting for properties that came after, like Online (which Xenoverse is a somewhat spiritual/direct successor to) and Super).
I love what they did with Sharpener they made him a genuinely funny and likable character
Buu bits was such a fantastic return for the entire TFS team to Dragon Ball, just a bunch of these gags getting their final payoff, while poking fun as the canonical ending of Dragon Ball Z.
The scene where Buu’s taunting Gohan but then Sharpener’s voice pops out should be the main scene not an alternate
Always thought it wasn't fair how Vegeta blamed Goku for their sons dying. They were literally trying to outrun a planet explosion that was right behind them, it's not like Goku can just turn around and get their sons. I was like "At least Goku grabbed people. Why didn't you grab anyone Vegeta?!" Granted, I know Vegeta was just venting, regardless of if it was Goku's fault or not.
Without Vegeta buu would have never awaken. So..
I mean, Goku can teleport and Vegeta can't.

You know, I actually can't picture TFS Vegeta _ever_ agreeing to fuse with TFS Goku. I mean, his pride is cranked up to 11 and he hates Goku way more than he does in the actual anime.
The fact that y'all went full buu story before watching this half is incredible resolve.
The part with Goku Saying it's Super-D-Duper Saiyan is from a callback when Vegeta first saw Goku and said he would go a level beyond Super Saiyan.
I could see Bethany getting emotional for Vegeta's death scene again, even though you guys already know everything works out. And that shows just how invested you guys are in the story. And I think that's great :)

I feel like TFS missed an opportunity during the Elder Kai scene, when Supreme Kai says "Kaio-what?" they should have shown Goku blasting Elder Kai in the face,.to continue the gag. Oh well.

Neat little tidbit about the music: I'm sure you saw lots of comments & debates in the comments during all the Kai episodes about dubs & dub music, etc. TFS themselves, I'm pretty sure, prefers the Japanese music. But, every once in a while, they'd throw in some fan service & use their own renditions of the American music when necessary.
Some examples in this particular episode are:
-The song during "I AM an adult part", which is called like Gohan's Anger or something like that. (Also plays briefly in Episode 60 of the Abridged against Cell)
-Goku's Super Saiyan 3 song (called "SSJ3 Power Up"), as well as the original "this is to go further beyond" line.
-The music that plays during the "Buutenks" bit where all the mouths come out is simply called Super Buu, originally. Probably one of the best & most iconic songs from the American OST, imo. Well, it's MY favorite, at least lol.
Some other examples I can think of from the Abridged series are:
-the piano theme when Vegeta hits Cell with the Final Flash (called "Vegeta-Super Saiyan")
-The industrial beat that plays sometimes when Imperfect Cell appears (kinda hard to find, but comes up if you search "Imperfect Cell Arrives Theme")
-And finally, probably the most subtle one, the Perfect Cell melody that plays during various moments at different tempos, including him humming it right before he absorbs 18 (Perfect Cell Theme/Cell Returns/Cell Runs).
End of Z the epilogue of Z takes place ten years after Buu is killed, but Super takes place a couple months after Buu is killed. Always funny seeing how End of Z is still canon, but acts like Goku and Vegeta didn't literally ascend to godhood over the last few years and fight multiversal-level threats

Okay time to react to the Super Clips, there's a compilation of them on YT, not uploaded by TFS themselves but the clips are yet not on YT, it was Facebook. They're a Quality over Quantity thing and worth it regardless of being shorter than Buu Bits.

I love how in one of the last ones Vegeta has grown to respect gohan's power enough to know that he stood a better chance against buu than both him and Goku did. Gohan at the time was stronger than ss3 goku. Especially with how much ss3 drains goku of energy so quickly. It also shows you just how much stronger Buuhan (buu with goten trunks piccolo and gohan absorbed) was than kidd buu. Goku struggled hard against buuhan but was able to go on equal footing with Kid Buu
Do Goku even fight Buuhan? I know that he doesn't even try in the manga, but I guess the anime might have added fillers.

DBZ had the 10 year time jump, where they didn't meet.
But Dragon Ball Super plays directly after DBZ, so all the Stories from DBS are talked about in their version.

So sad they never did the full season, because DBZA was truly something special. Crazy how they created their own little universe where lines like "No, I am an adult" hit on the same level or perhaps harder than "Fight you? No, I'm going to kill you".

Just a personal opinion, but if you want to continue your Dragonball journey, and continue liking Goku as a character, watch the 4 most recent movies instead of Super. No joke, the first two, Battle of Gods and Resurrection F, are the first two arcs of the show done better, and as a whole they are better than what the show put out. Again, just my opinion, you guys do you.
We are doing a hybrid. Episodes 1 and 2 for context then battle of gods and then 15-18 for context and then resurrection f 🙂

Some music is from the Z version by Bruce Faulconer, I really encourage you to watch this version because it is really excellent, much better than the Kai version. Much funnier, much more intense, much more emotional, better scripted. you will not regret it

If you ask 4Kids Ent. back then.. Mr. Popo was not allowed.. sure his design is questionable but thats it for me, i am not oversensitive, but in GT and the 4Kids version of DBZ he was like "blue" like a deep marine blue.. wtf. But this channel was infamous for it's hilerious and overreaction censorship.
