What if there was a museum that contained every type of life form in the universe? This experience takes you on a tour through the possible forms alien life might take, from the eerily familiar to the utterly exotic, ranging from the inside of the Earth to the most hostile corners of the universe.
New research is upending our idea of life and where it could be hiding: not just on Earth-like planets, where beings could mimic what our planet has produced, but in far flung places like the hearts of dead stars and the rings of gas giant planets. Nowhere in the universe is off limits.
Only when we know what else is out there will we truly know ourselves. This thought experiment will give us a glimpse into what could be out there, how we might find it, and just how far nature’s imagination might stretch.

The narration in the episode is epic to say the least, it really captures the sense of curiosity, fear, excitement etc that humans would have making these discoveries
As beautiful and astounding as this video is, it is still ultimately limited by a human perspective. Imagining what life might actually exist out there that defies human understanding is amazing.

Because as crazy as this sounds, truth is that most education systems still desperately grasping in to a more than hundred years old model, which methods originally served the needs of the industrial revolution. To train a mass class of braindead work force who are absoluetly devoid of any kind of imagination or individual thinking. Some of our tools in learning might have became more "modern", but the methodics themselves are the same outdated crap as before.
I have a master’s in computer animation, with a concentration in Autodesk Maya. I don’t anyone here quite understands how impossible something like this is to make alone. The modeling of the creatures alone could take a year, full-time. Writing the concepts, set design, textures, lighting, render passes, hell, the music? If you said 8 months, I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that. I would use Maya and Next Limit, and put it together with After Effects. Truly astounding work.
I don't know anything about computer animation so this entire video is basically magic to me.

I'm an evolutionary biologist and I have to say, not only was this beautifully done and animated, but it was a perfect combination of science and artistry! And on top of that I learned quite a bit from this myself. This was nothing short of inspiring!
