- Ma'at Goddess of Truth & Justice from Egyptian Mythology is a fascinating member of the Egyptian Pantheon. She is a rare case in Egyptian mythology in that she was both a person and an idea.
As Ma’at played the strange half role between goddess and ideology in the Egyptian pantheon, this meant she had very few temples dedicated directly to her. Despite this however, she was present in almost every element of Egyptian mythology
The values of truth, justice, harmony and balance that Ma'at represented remain an integral part of her legacy to this very day.
An amazing story, told in the signature raconteur style.

Thanks for watching!
What do we think of Ma'at and what are your favourite Egyptian Gods or Goddesses?
Ma-at is wonderful. Please do an episode on the Egyptian god Heka, god of magic.
If you want a high-level understanding of MAAT, read "MAAT, The Moral Ideal in Ancient Egypt".
Great stuff, man! Love a bit of mythology as is, but digging the chill vibes of your storytelling too!
I know what it is you're reminding me of. I used have a VHS as a kid called Dragons, Giants and Witches, that I'd watch all the time. It was basically just a someone reading the Usbourne book with dramatic use of the imagery and some sound design, but it was enthralling, and what you're doing is quite similar.
Thanks man! Glad you are enjoying it
oh awesome! I will have to see if I can dig that out somewhere to have a watch.
@@AliLightfoot really. Maybe I want to say hello back to you.
Reminds me of Themis in Greek mythology. Really glad I found this channel. Thank you for sharing! 🙏 Great cover photo btw.

I have recently discovered that I'm a demigod of ancient Egypt. I have had ideas of creating being's similar to ma'at a few years ago.
Goddess of the Kemetic people... the Egyptians are a different people and era.
You mispronounced her name mate sorry bout that good vid though
Badu
Sounds like the 10 commandments
no it doesnt, unless you wana call these things demons
@@romanengelbrecht6717 maybe they were the fallen ones
@@ElevateMindVibrateHigh agreed
The 10 Commandments derived from The 42 laws of Ma’at originally before it was remixed and manipulated.
Says right there BRAE, Queen Erutet so I’m here just the Eye of Ra conduit, deliverer promised by Nefertari/Nefertiti to this world by her Parents myself Amun Re and Her HeavenlyFather Amun Ra much love three members only ever existed of Judah 💙💙💙✡️💜💜💜⭕️♥️🧮🪢
Ma’at is not the daughter , she is the mother of RA
How is she the mother of the sun when we are the children of The Sun (black people)
Why is she white in the cover photo?
Half of the Egyptians are all whitewashed it's nothing new
How can a goddess have a father but no mother? Was she a penguin? Even in the story of Athena, she was said to have a mother that was swallowed by Zeus when she was pregnant with Athena because Hera was on the warpath due to her husband's non-stop womanizing.
Because her father, Ra, was not a gendered being, but a primordial being that brought himself into existence. Egyptian mythology was highly allegorical in this way. By being created by and after the chief primordial being, Ma'at herself could be a primordial being. As described in the video, that is precisely the way in which she was viewed by the Egyptians..
There were no Gods
