Sisters are the most Warhammer 40k army in warhammer 40k. Space marines while the most popular army are just generic super soldiers you could find any setting. Pretty much every other faction is just a trope taken from existing fantasy. The Sisters are much more unique, they are easily the most unique concept GW ever came up with. The models also look really good and have interesting lore. Or you could play Ultramarines whos lore is: We are the goodest boys ever.
Sororitas and Mechanicus are definitely the two coolest and most unique human factions, and they're both extremely 40k, which is why I'm collecting sisters, and of course always the contrarian I decided to go with just about the least known minor order there is just because they featured in a really fun 4chan /tg/ collaborative writing thread I read when I was much younger. I might end up regretting that once I start sculpting all their green stuff fur scarves.
I would suggest for new players to wait to buy named character for when they have already painted 2-3 boxes so they are used to our color schemes and how our glazes and so intersct with each other. Having a textured Celestine can be disheartening when you willsurpass that level of painting in two weeks of practice on regular sisters. Edit: Its still a good idea in order to know in which direction to build a list, just paint it later.
If you have the seraphim box and novitiates, instead of making novitiates you can make them zephyrim. The seraphim box comes with 6 flying stands and 10 jump packs for 5 models, so that is doable.
..Novitiates not Repentia, but yeah! The key issue is NEVER glue the stands to your models, EVER. Poster putty, magnets, bailing wire, chewing gum,... never glue them to the stands. And clear aquarium tubing makes better stands to begin with - just saying.
For those who are interested in the Combat Patrol: -The Battle Sisters have one Flamer, one Artificer Stormbolter, and no Cherub. The Superior has a Boltgun and Chainsword, though these can be swapped out if you have parts from another box. You may want to add a proper Battle Sisters box or Retributors to use for the Cherub, special/heavy weapons and Sister Superior options. -The Canoness has a Plasma Pistol (stuck on her cape), Powersword (which I guess you could also call a Blessed Blade) and Rod of Office; you can stick a younger head on her and say she's a Palatine, or you can remove her cape and equip her with whatever you like from other boxes. -The Seraphim are all dual Bolt Pistol with their left arm stuck that way, the Superior with Plasma Pistol and Powersword. If you buy a Seraphim box you can build 3 as Zephyrim, 2 as Seraphim with dual Hand Flamers (or Inferno Pistols), swap those for two from the Combat Patrol, then give the CP models a Powersword and Zephyrim jetpack/helmet. If you bought a Seraphim box and also picked up a Novitiates box to make all those special characters as shown in the video, another use for those spare Novitiate bodies is to put jetpacks on them and give them Hand Flamers/Inferno Pistols (whichever you didn't already use). There are a few with a dynamic stepping/leaping sort of pose that can work for it. Alternatively, if you bought a Battle Sisters box just to build extra heavy/special weapon options for your other squads, you could use any spare Battle Sister bodies together with Novitiate arm parts to create the Dialogus, Hospitaller etc, and then just use the Novitiates as Novitiates.
a vtuber about Sororitas? Subscribed! Sororitas are the best! And this video is awesome and full of good tips! Btw the codex for sisters has been announced to release in summer 2024!
You do fantastic work, your editing is good and I always like listening to you when I'm driving in American Truck Simulator. Here's wish you the best in your games!
Definitely go with what you think is cool. My wife collects sisters (and now nids with 10th), and I have no issue saying I was jealous with 30k points of Imperial Guard. Saw it in passing at the game store. Came home with a box of Sacresants. Love the fantasy Paladin look. Guess I’m starting a sisters army
this is sure to be helpful , starting it as my second army after TAU , although ill probably have to pass on the combat patrol , the fleshy lobotomized units , make me uncomfortable so i wouldnt be getting the full valve , but am looking to snap up one of the boarding patrols
I just want to say I got lucky as hell and wish I saw this video ahead of time, I 100% would have started with Celestine. But I got a Palantine and a Canoness and learning how to paint them was really fun. Starting with a character really is the way to go! Great video :3
My friends have finally convinced me to play 40k, and I chose Sisters. First picked up the Boarding Patrol and Combat patrol. Just picked up Morvann Vahl and the War Suits! My friends have been super cool about the mono-posed minis and just stating which has what (as long as it can be marked). I’m about to play my first game at 500 points and I’m really excited!
Thanks for the vid! great content!! Agree with you on the meta, even tho its always changing I find that it doesnt matter on local games shops.. the trick to 40k is to know how to score points, use stratagems and tricks, and ofc.. know you army really well!!! In 9th I got a Palatine cause it was one of my favorite models, but it was TERRIBLE.. but now in 10th she is AMAZING and the lesson I take is, buy what you like and feels right!
Sisters are what have finally convinced me to get into 40k. Nothing about the setting has grabbed me the way these psychotic, murderous, zealous, beautifully stupid fanatics have. They’re absolutely everything wrong with the Imperium, and I love how they just lean into the crazy as hard as they can. This video was super helpful, I picked up and Imagifier for cheap a few weeks ago and was wondering what to do to really get started. Thanks to this, I think I’m gonna pick up a Celestine because she really is just really awe inspiring (and maybe I’ll pick up a cheeky little Greyfax, too :3 ).
If you build a regular box of zephyrim along side the combat patrol, you can do it without any cutting and it comes out nicer. The 4 sisters are actually 2 mirrored sisters so if you build one set of them as zephyrim by just giving them powerswords and a bit of fanagling on the jump packs you end up with 2 more diverse squads with minimal conversion.
My Sister army is a few Serephim Squads with a few Exorcist Tanks as support. The Serephim have the hit and run ability. They hop into melee range and gather the enemy together in a small circle then can hop out of range for free. Allowing the exorcist tanks to demolish any close knite squad.
1 thing not talked about with Celestine is that her and the gemini shoulders are not sculpted into the torso. So, you could technically have unlimited push molds for conversions.
Adepta Soritas are one of the most selling armies, prolly not going anywhere. Also Soritas are fine, they are pretty meta now. I play Tau, so yeah. Soritas are fine.
Sororitas are a decent army and we have a ~50% winrate right now which is perfektly fine. They are, however, harder to play due to the fact that they are a low toughness army that requires some finesse if you want to win
I love the aesthetic and models of the Sororitas but man it feels so bad when you're taking them off the table by the handful. The Miracle Dice mechanic is cool but too swingy without some very specific model support; Retributors with attached Dialoguses within aura distance of the Triumph of St. Katherine. Sororitas are an awesome army with rich history and lore, but the learning curve is steep and it's very easy to loose faith in the army if you jump right into 2000pt games and get steamrolled. My advice would be to start small, 500-1000pt games so you can learn the army mechanic without having to deal with the cheese that other armies are capable of at the 2000pt level.
Im new to 40k and I have chosen the Adepta Sororitas as my first faction and army choice I already know what to get but I want to run more things but I know I can't because of the points restraint and stuff so I'm going to be everything going into this first list
I picked Adepta Sororitas because they looked best [from all available combat patrol boxes in local shop]. Man I really screwed myself up. So expensive boxes with little points, 2000 pts army is so hard to get even with knight allies...
Through TV Tropes and Idioms on Ominous Pipe Organ I found out that the Adepta Soroitas have an APC mounted pipe organ that is also a missile launcher. I need no other reason to assemble an Army and start playing. I don't even know what a 40K is, is it like Total Warhammer? If it's anything like that I'll be fine.
40K is the sci-fi version of Total Warhammer. If you want the computer game equivalent of this tabletop game look up Dawn of War sisters of battle. That will show it off well enough
Starting a 500pts is a really good idea. Me and my buddy's don't have a lot of income ( colledge or / minimum wage jobs) so 500-1000 games make up all of are games

What does it mean for the faction to not be well supported? Is this not a faction i should pick up if i am looking for a long term main faction? I'm going between, nids, sisters, necrons, admech
it means GW hasn't given them a lot of models and updates their rules last (in the editions it has updated them) It means it is useful to have back-up factions you also play
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber thank you for explaining. I probably won't pick up sisters but do enjoy your videos. (New to 40k/models, leviathan nids are still being painted. Maaaaybe gene stealers in 2024/25)
Sisters suck. Suck to build, suck to paint. (I have shaky hands. I suppose there are armies with worse trim and detail, like Chaos, but still. Ugh. All the filigree...) Slowly working through my ~1600 points. I did commission a Celestine, and am planning on running Greyfax, althought 10th means I should pick up some henchmen... I just want to PLAY.
I hands down cannot say strongly enough how AWFUL the Sisters Combat Patrol box actually IS for a new player in 10th edition. I cannot believe he actually even talked about this thing with anything other than utter contempt. Its purposely designed to be useless to expand upon. You cant even buy 2 of them to complete the unit sizes because they are unique monopose models that leave you short/stuck to complete full units required for 10th Edition. (lookin at you Sisters Repentia) Or they give you one model... of a unit of 2 ... and then sell boxes of ... TWO models. So no matter what you do.. that model will always be useless. (Lookin right at YOU single penitent engine.) Or give you 3 models of a 10 man unit, and sell boxes of 10 models.. this is just embarassing. (Lookin at you Arco Flagellents) This whole box is just cancer. The only things viable in it are the sisters squad, the cannoness (and there's WAY better versions of her out there.) and the Seraphim.. (cause they come in boxes of 5 for 60 dollars, which is a fucking joke of the highest possible order, but at least viable.) ... and then they add.. a Rhino. Cause lemme tell ya.. Rhinos are absolutely KEY for a good Sisters army... Oh wait.. no they arent. They're fucking garbage.

What does it mean for the faction to not be well supported? Is this not a faction i should pick up if i am looking for a long term main faction? I'm going between, nids, sisters, necrons, admech
it means GW hasn't given them a lot of models and updates their rules last (in the editions it has updated them)
It means it is useful to have back-up factions you also play
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber thank you for explaining. I probably won't pick up sisters but do enjoy your videos. (New to 40k/models, leviathan nids are still being painted. Maaaaybe gene stealers in 2024/25)
lol at UK...and Europe. But on a more serious note any affiliates for us Yanks?
nothing so far unfortunately for Cowboy Land but I keep working on it
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber *fires guns in the air* I look forward to it if ya'll in the old world getting 21% off
I must say, dear sir, that you do have a most cromulent gib.
Sisters suck. Suck to build, suck to paint. (I have shaky hands. I suppose there are armies with worse trim and detail, like Chaos, but still. Ugh. All the filigree...)
Slowly working through my ~1600 points. I did commission a Celestine, and am planning on running Greyfax, althought 10th means I should pick up some henchmen...
I just want to PLAY.
for building I prefer the metal models: just add backpack. The plastic ones have too many parts
For me, it's the cut off your jib. Keep it up.
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like the combat patrol. The lack of customisation and weird small size units just doesn't sit right with me.
I'm not a fan of the models either but it is a good way to start, especially if you haven't tried warhammer before
Misunderstood instructions. Watched a minute of the video, bought 200€ worth of Sisters, continued watching, bought more. Help.
;P
hey, don'T shame my gry nids. XD
(Lookin at you Arco Flagellents)
This whole box is just cancer. The only things viable in it are the sisters squad, the cannoness (and there's WAY better versions of her out there.) and the Seraphim.. (cause they come in boxes of 5 for 60 dollars, which is a fucking joke of the highest possible order, but at least viable.)
... and then they add.. a Rhino. Cause lemme tell ya.. Rhinos are absolutely KEY for a good Sisters army...
Oh wait.. no they arent. They're fucking garbage.
Only one pose? That's garbage. I didn't know that. I think the best way to start would be a regular battle sister box..
And instead of a rhino, a couple seraphim would be better
