I know this is a really old video, but it's nice to see that DFD has been keeping it together in the years since I temporarily departed. I hope when I get back to perhaps get a ride-along with them and the department in my hometown.
Engine 53 Needs new lights. I really don't like the strobe light effect on the engine. I want to be able to when I hear the sirens to see the flashing lights.
How is the department doing budget wise? I hate to see Detroit in poverty and all that, my pet peeve is when cities don't have a stable emergency services department D: Great video I subbed
Greater Toronto Area Emergency Videography Thank you! The staff do their best as they can. In the last decade a less of money or nothing was spent for the DFD. Detroit need a longer time to take the equipment on an acceptable situation.

The sutphen 95 mid mount, is the best looking fire truck ever made.

It’s probably the camera that had a similar frame rate to the lights strobing, so it happens to only record frames when the lights are off.

Do all of DFD's rigs keep a spotlight on during a response? Noticed several had a cab light on while responding.
Think if you switch on all the alarm buttons the spot-/searchlight goes on.
Just wondering. Several have the spotlight activated on the driver side...and some on the passenger side.
