I might recommend you start with your meat sources first. Helps keeps you in the ranges you need to be in as far as your budget goes.
Beef Jerky is tricky, its not automatic "Keto". The Kirkland brand seems to be the best. 1oz, 4g of sugar. Ill go ahead and i'll get it.
One thing, i don't want to blow my whole budget on snack. Thats one thing you have to worry about. Costco, its easy to blow your budget on snacks. A lot of things in costco you have to be careful of but theres also some hidden gems.
Bone Both, its a cool item but a bit pricey. we'll see how my budget is looking throws the end. Now, Chia seeds you're mainly looking at a soluble fiber. Soluble fiber is one gram is going to hold a lot of water. Chia puddle makes it easy. 2.5 carbs i'll actually count.
Califlower rice packets. it's kinda cool its on the go but pretty pricey for the budget.
Ok, Tuna. What i love about Costco is they have the Chunklight options. Chunklight is actually better than albacore. People think that Albacore is the more higher quality stuff, its higher quality when it comes to dense. Chunklight is a small fish. Its better on your body.
Unfortunately, the sardines they have here are in olive oil. I'm not anti- olive oil, olive oil is great, good quality fat, good profile on it, its just going to be a little more fragile and since you can't cook with it. I go for sardines in water because you can control the fat content a little more. When you pick a sardine out of oil, you can control how much fat comes out with it. It's important to get the bone in.
People always have issues with can salmon. believe or not, i don't. it's actually wild caught. I'm not going to get this simply because i already gotten can fish and can tuna. But still, not a bad item
Rice, not going to work.
This stuff, frankly is just junk. It's more filler than it is meat.
Ok, here's something thats a bit sneaky: Sundried tomatos. People think "oh i can put this on my squash", 70 cal but 52 servings per container. You know how easy it is to eat one serving? pretty easy an that'll be 6 grams of crabs. Rice is the first ingredient.
Artichoke Hearts. These are pretty cool. Cool thing about artichokes are they are one of the most powerful prebiotic fibers.
I almost fell into this trap. Seaweed snacks. Seaweed chips. still have a bunch of carbs in them. Seaweed with almonds, but its a bit tricky. look at the servings per container. Seaweed is probably one of the best sources to get iodine. Seaweed flakes is a get way to get your iodine in.
ACV 3 for 6.99, great deal!
Coconut oil for 10 buck. this will last for at least a year.
Monkfruit is the way to go over other sweeteners. Lankato. Check them out. I like pecans and walnuts. high omega-3s. I can go organic or not, i'm going to Organic, higher omega-3.
People ask about lemon juice. This is a good time to bring it up. People ask "Can i use a bottled lemon juice instead of fresh?" always use fresh as much as possible but this is preserved pretty well.
Oh, Avocados. 7.99 for these big avocados is a good price. i can cut one of these open and have it for two or three days.
I'm happy to fly to a different part of the country to really done one other different grocery store. I don't have Kroger's on the West Coast so maybe I'll fly somewhere to do a Kroger's. Anyhow, thank you all very much. See you soon.

I LOVE that you focus on clean keto. A lot of other people don't realize how much corn and "dirty" ingredients in so many things we eat!. Thanks for digging deeper and spreading your knowledge.

What is this "budget" thing you keep mentioning? Any time I can escape Costco for less than $300 during my weekly run, I consider it a victory. 💰💵
Serious Keto so true lol!!!!!
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial Just wait until your boy is bigger than you, Thomas. When my son goes back to college next week, my monthly Costco credit card bill will be able to breath a sigh of relief.
You're spending $1200 a month of groceries? You need help!
@@NotoriousTSK I didn't say it was all groceries. Typically, groceries account for about 2/3rd of my Costco receipt. Plus, I have two college age children and very often their boyfriend and girlfriend eat at our house. It adds up.
Serious Keto what the heck? 2 older kids here too and no way is our bill $300 a week. Dang.
Great point on the cauliflower pizza crust! Eek. But most importantly, cauliflower is heavily sprayed with pesticides. Most Cauli products are not organic...
High Intensity Health so dang true. It’s gnarly out there
I prefer the no crust pizza. Just sauce, cheese, and toppings in a small skillet until cheese is melted and slightly crispy on edges. Much more Keto friendly

@@kokolatte825 Ill give you a hint, its animal proteins.
@@HomeostasisDiet Sorry, I know this is an old comment. But the definition of animal protein is pretty broad and the only animal proteins there is strong evidence for according the WHFC is dairy and processed red meat.
There is limited evidence that fish reduces cancer and red meat causes cancer according to them. This could be outdated. But I'd like to see more evidence.
I love how honest Mr T is with these shops. U see him thinking and analyzing and being budget wise
I went in to costco and I got that coconut oil when my wife saw it she said 'why did you get so much coconut oil!?' I said 'Thomas DeLauer told me'
she said 'wtf !'
😂 😂
Hahaha cute.
sgreen4 cook with it, pour it over steamed veggies
i buy a tub of coconut oil from costco mainly for popcorn and skin treatment. don't really cook with it cause it is a bit too rich for my taste.
I like to just use it as a spread on bananas 😋
I walked in to Costco for a hotdog, somehow left with a new AC unit and tires - all happened so fast!
🤣😂🤣😂knowing
Hate to break it to ya buddy, while tires and AC are essential, they are not on the Keto diet ha ha ha.
Oh I feel you. I go in with 6 things on a grocery list and walk out $400 later. Our family motto: today I saved $497 by not going to Costco for a hot dog.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How much did you spend for the AC?
I spent 319 dollars at Whole Foods and got half as much as this hall! I'm heading to Costco more often for sure.
Thomas is one good looking, educated man.
I love how you're visibly upset at the bill. This is exactly how I feel at the supermarket.
This video is chock-full of useful information, much needed for newbies like me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Plus I had so much fun watching you shop. I’m going to follow suit and do the same when I go grocery shopping from now on.
Costco is also a much healthier store for the economy. They treat their employees EXTREMELY well and are less profit-driven than a lot of other stores (we're looking at you, Walmart!).
They're both profit driven and both great for the economy. They're both publicly traded companies as well.
@@JohnSmith-zs1bf You're demonstrably wrong. Walmart is HORRIBLE for the economy, both local and global. They exploit their workers and knowingly, actively are a drain on society. I suggest you stop being gullible and research things before displaying your ignorance in public.
@@JohnSmith-zs1bf _10 reasons why Walmart is the worst company in America._ www.dailydot.com/via/walmart-labor-unions-bad-company/
@@dienekes4364 Actually, Walmart is one of the largest employers nationwide, and if they were to go out of business right now, 1.4 million people would be without a job. No one is forced to work there, or anywhere else in the United States. You can always learn new skills and apply to other jobs. The term "exploit" implies that people are being forced to work there which isnt true. If you want to make more than minimum wage, you need to develop more than minimum skills and have more than minimum enthusiasm. If walmart were to raise wages, they could no longer afford to have the low prices they do, and they would no longer be able to employ so many people. Walmart has made basic goods available at extremely low prices thanks to their ability to commit to such large quantities. If you apply to Costco yourself, you will discover that they only hire seasonal employees, part time, and in some cases (like butchers) pay about 25% less than the competition. You do have the ability to get called after the season for a full time offer, and I have nothing against this practice, as its determined by free market forces. No one is forced to work there either. The most basic skill you can do in our economy today is run a cash register. If that's all you have to offer, you arent in a place to ask for higher wages. Theres people without any wage at all that will happy replace a minimum wage cashier for the same postion. In fact, theres a large line of people waiting for that opportunity. When you apply to and accept a job, you are agreeing to exchange your time and labor for the agreed upon rate. That's not exploitation, that's a mutual agreement and exchange. If Walmart or Costco goes out of business, the owners (shareholders) will take huge devestating and permanent losses, meanwhile the minimum wage worker will be compensated with unemployment and without taking the risk of owning the business, can simply get another minimum wage job somewhere else.
Every business is profit seeking. Even the companies that treat their employees great and provide great benefit packages do so to attract better talent who will in turn provide higher quality work which will turn a better profit. They are two strategies with the same goal. Costco isnt a nonprofit. If you expect your employer not to care about profits, you shouldnt care about getting paid.
@@JohnSmith-zs1bf _"Walmart is one of the largest employers nationwide"_ -- When you start out with a fallacy, it's hard for me to go further. Again, this is MEANINGLESS in whether or not they help or hinder the economy. Exploiting more workers doesn't mean they are "good" for society.
When he walks past the sweets/cakes, and says “these things don’t even look good anymore”. Why is this so true?!

Stumbled on this video, and this guy is absolutely straight up intelligent
I KNOW RIGHT
This video is so helpful - really appreciate how detailed you got on a lot of the product and in explaining why or why not to buy them!
The Kerrigold Dublinger cheese is amazing! Pick one up next time...it is grass fed & a raw milk cheese. It's super tasty!
really? does it say boiled to 130F or real raw cheese?

If there is a sprouts near you, down the app and there is a $2 kerrygold in app coupon. The 8oz kerrygold butter cost me only $1.79
darren alan it’s not raw, but it is grass fed
Dublinger is literally the shit. I'd be fine with it kicking me out of keto. 💪
We shop Costco quite a bit. I get avocados, fresh mushrooms, macadamia nuts, organic eggs, and the lakanto monk fruit among a few other things. Thanks for the video.

Miss Misto what staff? You are highly misinformed, show your receipts (proof) if not stop spreading rumors!
Easy trick at Costco. Every item you put in the cart is $20. Quick a simple math. Also, don't use the cart if you are on a budget. Carry your items or use a Costco bag to carry your goods.
Or order online and pick up... Sam's Club does this as well.
I NEVER pick up a buggy when I am at Costco. If I can't carry it, I don't need to buy it. So helpful

2.) Frozen Wild Alaskan Salmon fillets (didn't see them in this episode)
3.) Dry roasted macadamia nuts
4.) Organic hemp hearts (24. oz. for $14 is incredible) I guess they're not at every Costco tho
5.) Kirkland Organic ACV "with the mother" 3-pack (just as good as Braggs)
Fun fact of the day: The majority of the Mexican avocados sold in the U.S. are controlled by the drug cartels...
Good list. I haven't seen the macadamia nuts at my costco.
Bonus question: Who controls the drug cartels? It goes much higher than the dumb, belligerent hollywood-like caricatures that we are supposed to believe. Helliwell plan (1946) in full effect.

FYI: Costco gets its lamb from outside the US. If you don't mind "well travelled" food, its from Australia or NZ. These countries don't label lamb as grass fed because that is simply how the sheep are raised. Its a pretty good option!
Similar to Europe with their dairy and meat products. The standards in the U.S are so lousy its quite insulting to other countries.
For real. Why does the U.S have such low standards?
@@Dina-qk4qk how is it "insulting" to other countries. If anything, the low standards in the US are insulting to American consumers. I also wonder why most other countries have healthier food and in the US the FDA allows anything. Even fast food in Europe is higher quality!
