    Hey everyone! When I was making this I didn’t expect it to get so many views (if I did I would have been a little more thorough lol). I made this just to do something funny with my friends and I’m used to literally getting like 60 view so if anyone has any questions feel free to comment or dm me on insta and I’ll answer them to the best of my ability!! Also if anyone has any video ideas or anything they’d like to see feel free to let me know:)

    I recently got accepted and I’m thinking about dorming (yay!) I was lucky enough to get a scholarship, thank god lol. But I was wondering what classes/dorm living is like during COVID? Also your room is so cute!!!!

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey! Congrats on getting accepted!! As far as Covid goes you can kind of make it work to your comfort level. I'm currently at home and have been taking all my classes online since march 2020 (which sucks but is actually saving me a bit of money). All of my friends are on campus and taking a mix of online classes and some hyflex (half online half in person). Dorm living is different (so I hear) because you can't hang out in each others rooms anymore and the capacity of common areas are super small. Covid has basically changed everything about my Pace experience but I'm hopeful everything will start to go back to normal in the fall! Just do what is best for you and know that it's only temporary!!

    I really wanna go here!! Do you have any tips on getting accepted??

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 4 lety +13

      Subrina Ally hey! So my best advice is the basic advice you get from everyone which is like keep a good gpa, get some extracurriculars on your transcripts (especially leadership) and have a killer essay. Don’t stress too much because Pace has a high acceptance rate but if you can I would strive for the honors college because of all the perks (early access to housing and schedule selection, also the honors college takes very good care of you). So yeah just keep working hard and try not to slack too much (I know senior year makes it VERY difficult not to), but yeah I hope this helped and good luck!!! :)

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs

      Ashley Quiroga hi! 182 broadway is a freshman dorm so as far as I know transfer students will either be placed in Beekman or John St!

    I loved this video 💕 I also have two questions. 1) is Pace University campus like NYU’s campus how it’s scattered around the city? 2) And my second question is for the residence halls do you pick which one you want to live in or is it randomly selected for you?

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 4 lety +2

      KaitlynElizabeth thanks so much!! Ok so Pace’s campus is scattered around the same few blocks, it’s much closer together than NYU’s is. It’s honestly nicer and most of your classes if not all will be in the same building depending on major (sometimes). The residence halls you get to pick for the most part but sometimes if one building fills up you have to go with/be placed in your second choice. Freshman year you are placed by housing and then from there you can either choose your room and building, be placed by housing (all gender, medical accommodations,etc.) or live off campus! Hope this helped :)

    • @kaitlyne4151
      @kaitlyne4151 Před 4 lety

      Julianna Lino H! I’m shocked your replied it means a lot. This did help but I’m sorry I have one more question. What do you mean by places by housing and when you say choose your room do you mean like a single, double, etc? And can you get placed with the opposite gender? Sorry for bothering you but thank you for taking time out of your day to answer me 😊

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 4 lety

      KaitlynElizabeth hahaha ya girl I got you! You’re not a bother at all!! Ok so with housing there are different things that can happen. So freshman year everyone is placed. You can match with a roommate (either manually like u find a homie and both decide to room and put it in your housing manually, which is what me and Liv did, or you can go random where housing places you with someone or a few people who have similar preferences as you like room cleanliness or bed times). Housing then picks your room in the building you place as a preference through the housing portal. After freshman year you are allowed to physically go onto a website (after you’re given a time and day based on grades, housing points, year and things like that) and you literally pick a building and what room you want. When it comes to singles, doubles, triples and quads it’s kinda strange. Ok so freshman year me and liv linked with each other and selected broadway as our preference building. We then got our room selections in like July/August and we got lucky with a double (there were only one per floor in broadway). In the upperclassman dorms there are mostly doubles with very few quads and triples. Everything with that is kinda linked with luck and honestly I still don’t understand it lol! Lmk if you have any more questions, I’m totally here to help!!! :)

      Roberto Ramirez honestly it was a bizarre twist of fate. We all randomly sat close to each other at orientation and instantly hit it off! Mind u there was some reworking of the group but all in all we just kind of got along and got really close at orientation. Friends honestly aren’t something u have to be really worried about. Just be open and nice at orientation and in class and you’ll meet some great people!!!!

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 2 lety

      Congrats!! Some perks are the scholarship money, first pick of classes, and also the community the honors college provides. They're some of the first people you meet at Pace as an honors student and are great if you have questions about your major (or what major you want to switch to), classes, and honestly just life. They hold your hand through the transition process from high school to college and are a great resource for pretty much everything. Plus, the lounge and events are cool!

      Bagel Chip yes all of us are in the honors college and I would 100% recommend it!!! They give u a really good amount of aid plus the honors college holds your hand through EVERYTHING! Idk what more u have to do to get in, I don’t remember doing anything specific but I do know a few people who applied to it (it was like 2 years ago and college applications are a blur to me lol) just have a good gpa and test scores!! 10/10 would recommend the honors college!!!!!!

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 4 lety

      Emily Breeden hey love! Yeah so my graduating gpa was a 3.93 (not weighted) and I did the ACT and my score was a 30! I know people in the honors college gpa ranges from like a 3.4 I think all the way to a 4.0 and SAT’s are similar. Just try to get mostly A’s and A-‘s and you should honestly be fine (a few B’s in there won’t kill your chances either so don’t worry). My best advice is look on the website at the acceptance averages for gpa and test scores and shoot for a bit higher than those and you’ll be fine!

    I’m a junior in high school and Pace is my number 1 school right now, but I live on the other side of the country and I was wondering what your experience with moving to New York was like?

    • @JuliannaLinoVlogs
      @JuliannaLinoVlogs  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey! A LOT of people I know at Pace are actually from the other side of the country. There a lot of people from all over the place so you need not worry! Moving in is a bit difficult, but I would take advantage of in-store pickup from like the Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond near school. That may make traveling easier! If you're worried about not knowing anyone, don't be! None of us knew anyone going to Pace but you meet so many people your first weeks here that making friends isn't really an issue! If it makes you feel better, Jon and I live 5 minutes away from each other but met for the first time at orientation so sometimes you randomly find people from home and bond right away! New York itself is a bit scary at first but it's really like moving anywhere for college. The school hosts a bunch of events to help freshman and transfer kids get acclimated with the city and the neighborhoods closest to Pace. After you get a routine down and start to explore the city you get WAY more comfortable and it starts to feel like home!:)
