Barry Sanders had inhuman agility. The man could start, and stop at damn near full speed. He was quicker laterally than most running backs were when they were running north to south.
One of the few guys who was just different than everyone else.
He was amazing. Though I still think Payton and Sayers were even more so.
Athletic, anklebreaker, and humble player
That Marion Barber run was legendary.. best 2 yard run ever
Old school runs are so badass
Sorry u didn't get to see Chubb run up in this bich
It's absolutely criminal that Emmitt Smith doesn't have a highlight in this collection...
Agreed. 18k yards and they couldn’t find one 70-80 yarder.
Agreed. Though, if my memory of being glued to ESPN in the mid-to-late 90s serves me well, some of Smith's most incredible runs came the same season Barry Sanders was chewing up yardage. Week by week, it was like waiting to see who would barely upstage the other.
Those were some great plays. RIP Marion Barber ✝️🏈
And Sweetness.
@@aspenrebel Yes, the great Walter Payton!
Barry Sanders is unquestionably a top 3 running back all time. And he only played 9 Years.
Ain’t that insane bro? He only played 9 seasons and left so much of a mark he will never be forgotten. That is insane to me man
10 season
Just like Calvin Johnson too, retiring after 9 years lml, if Aiden becomes a generational talent, he’ll probably keep that tradition going 😭
Sanders played 10 seasons, which for a runningback isn't bad. runningbacks are out of their prime by then anyways.
He is my number 1 draft pick. Without question.
For those who don’t know. Look up javonte Williams run against the ravens last season. That was by far and by definition the most dominant run in 2021
Dudes gonna be a beast next season too
That and practically any of TDs runs would've beaten Elway's Helicopter.
2021 on this list wasn’t even dominant. Taylor is good but that specific run was not dominant.
@@kalof3l51 10 defenders in the box, with two veteran former All-Pros unblocked within an arms reach of JT. JT’s dominance is shown in that the Patriots played the call perfectly, but JT is just that good, it doesn’t matter what you do.
@@kalof3l51 called game against the colts biggest rival in prime time with everyone in the box. If that's not dominant idk what is
I don’t care if it was a super bowl, James White did not have the best run of 2016
Lol it was a 2 yard stretch like how hard could that be it’s not too impressive
Correction: He DID have the best, just not the coolest-looking.
It's the best because that one run had a bigger result, a super bowl victory.
Edit: I forgot that it says most “DOMINANT” so nvm 😂
@@Noah.Nation but I wouldn't really call it dominant. Something dominant would be Marshawn Lynch's Beastquake run
@@Noah.Nation in what way was it the most dominant run that year tho? The most significant sure, but I’m pretty sure he had better runs in that game alone
Bruh as a falcons fan you better be kidding me..they obviously set a precedent for the type of run this list was looking for... And if thats really 2016s... How about devonta freemans 10 yard touchdown against the 49ers in 2016 when he broke 3 facemasks.
Bo Jackson looks like he’s gliding along while everyone is stuck still. He has a different gear that I don’t think we’ll ever see again.
Lamar Jackson's Run vs the Bengals in 2019 was crazy. His run vs the Texans takes the cake for me though.
One of the few times commentary (almost) overshadowed the play! Kevin Harlan is just a maestro on the stick no matter what sport he does.
You’re crazy if you think it was better than Mahomes’ run in the playoffs that year lol, the fact that Lamar made the list over that is criminal.
nah, this Bengals play was the more memorable.
@@treyjuarez4692 Maholmes is in no way a better runner than lamar, your just in your feelings stop it.
I know this was the 2019 selection before i got to this year... 🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️
Three of them are Bo Jackson and two are Marcus Allen. The Raiders backfield with Bo and Marcus is hands down the best backfield in NFL history. Bo was a cheat code.
Those Raiders' teams were deprived of Super Bowls, but I know for certain no team won more Tecmo Bowl Championships than them...
Bo Jackson's speed was unreal!!!
That radio call for Steve Young's run is an all-time great one damn.
Gets away again!
That call goes along with that run perfectly.
That call was decent. I am glad we got the Frank Herzog call of Riggins; that is one of my favorite radio calls of all time. The emotion of it is perfect for a high stakes play that went for a TD in the SB (recall that the Dolphins were down and called that play on 4th and 1).
As a Ravens fan I’m extremely happy to see Jamal Lewis get some love. He was a dominate power back in his time with very underrated speed and vision.
We had 4 total didnt we? 2 jamals, leron, and jamar
Bo would have been the best ever. It was a pleasure watching him play.
The fact that Bo Jackson had a 3peat without training camp speaks volumes about his dominance.
The fact that Bo only played 4 seasons and is on this list 3 times goes to show how amazing he was.
Him and Barry and goats
@@kittylarkin1236 Walter Payton & Barry are my personal top 2.
Right and all those runs with Emmitt Smith over that huge career......oh wait
Those 3 80-90 yards runs account for almost 10% of his career rushing total
@@king_supreme1102 Well, when your entire pro career consists of only 38 games and you share a backfield with Marcus Allen...
Where’s Emmitt Smith? Most under-appreciated player ever.
Watching Barry Sanders run was a treat. Growing up in Austin, I saw a lot of Emmitt Smith and he was great in his own right. But Barry kept you glued to the set because you never knew what he was going to do. Even his 2 yard loss runs kept you on the edge of your seat.
As great as that game winning TD against Minnesota was, I'd argue that Vick's best run in 2002-03 was in the playoffs when he threw a GB defender down with one hand and completely reversed field from like 10 yards back to a first down. He was one lucky hand trip away from running it all the way.
I remember the coaches on the sideline pointing like he was outta bounds it’s laughable how Vick managed to get outta that one
Yes he didn't score on that play but the run agaisnt Minnesota was in Overtime which made it way better.
"Green Bay Defender" hehe. Are you referring to KGB?
@@crash5842 yup
Thanks to Vick I won a lot of money on that Minnesota game. The only way I could win in OT was with a Falcon TD and those were the days when OT games basically always ended on field goals… so I’m ok with their choice
Bo Jackson was way ahead of any running back from his era. The injury to his hip cut his career short
In case you thought Tecmo Bowl was just a video game, Bo shows that he was not being exaggerated.
Exactly!!
While I was too young to remember the Elway run, that wasnt a dominant run. That was just iconic. There has to be better runs that year, especially with Davis alone pounding the rock on his own team
Same with James White in 2016. Sure it won a super bowl but it wasn’t dominant.
@@dafuzzbear7711 I agree, but I commented before I saw that one 😅
@@Yearofthebows24 fair enough.
My favorite is Steve Young's run in 88. Cause he stumbles into the end zone without being touched. I could do that! Not the run, but I could trip myself into the end zone. 👏🏽
You’re a decent athlete. I mean not many compare to sy
@@Ynkno Steve Young was deceptively fast.
Legendary 💪🏼 I also noticed none of his receivers gave up on the play and Jerry Rice came back to get that last crucial block 👊🏼
Bo Jackson might have been the greatest athlete who ever lived.
These bring back some memories. Thanks for the highlight reel!
Marshawn Lynch is such a beast when nobody wraps him up
Bro, Bo Jackson was quick!
Jeez Marcus Allen, Walter Payton and Bo Jackson’s speed where truly unearthly.
Some if the most memorable runs I've ever seen in my life. Thanks Throwback
Mist
Yes! I’ve been waiting for one of these types of videos!
Barry’s Playoff run I’ve watched at least 1000 times and I could watch it 10000 more!
So happy to see John Elway’s run included. I remember it and it elevated the entire Broncos team from just wanting to win to knowing the inevitability of winning
I respect John and am happy he got his rings at the end of his career, but I'm sure there were better runs that year. I think the helicopter moment in the SB is slightly overrated.
@@robsmith961 Absolutely agree, at the end of the day Elway's run was just 15 yards without breaking any tackles or scoring. Nothing dominant about it.
Emmitt Smith's run against the Giants in the 95' playoffs is snubbed, ran for however many yards with a broken shoulder
This run vs the falcons in 92.
His run in the opener vs Washington in 91.
Exactly!
Not quite sure how Smoth isn't on this list. Pretty sure he broke all but 1 rushing record and is at the top still
On Garrison Hearst's run T.O blocked like 6 or 7 defenders down the field to make it all possible.
I kept getting louder saying
" Go, go, go" Then cheered with joy as he crossed the goalline.
Blocked half the damn defense by himself.
I saw Barry Sanders at OSU when he won the Heisman- best running back I’ve ever seen
& this is why Techmo Bowl was the way it was... Bo was unstoppable
Most dominant run last season was Javonte Williams’ run vs the Ravens
Bro I was gonna ask why that wasn't on here.
1000000%
either that or Chubb’s TD against the chargers
This makes me realize how dominant Bo Jackson was . I’m a 90s kid
Man, watching this again, so amazing. I'm a 60's and 70's fan, remember this.
The best part of this video, in my opinion, was hearing the plays called by John Madden and Pat Summerall. I miss those guys.
Damn right
Still the best to ever do it. I quite enjoy Aikman and Buck as well as Nantz and Romo. But they are still well behind these 2. Something about Summerall and his play by play style was great. Maybe cause he was a former player idk. And of course Madden was the perfect compliment to that.
Bo was so freaking fast, the defense always looked like peewee players😂😂💪🏼
Wow great highlight video. I thoroughly enjoyed that.
Barry Sanders was the most amazing runner I've ever seen
Marcus allen is one of the must or maybe even the most underrated runningback in the NFL history
Until you saw him play with Bo Jackson. Bo made him look like a chump.
@@davidsullivan5231 I actually think that allen was more talented as a runningback but he didn’t get as much shine because of bo jackson
11:16 I forgot about Derrick Henry’s 99 yd td, 2018 I thought I was gonna see Nick Chubb’s 92 yd TD that year
3+ years separated us from seeing HOFers Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Franco Harris, etc...but that's OK, we share the collective memory of those Epic runs.
No Emitt Smith
Some guys are just built different, such as Marcus Allen, Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Adrian Peterson. Absolute beasts as runners. Derrick Henry isn't on that level yet but if he keeps going, he could be. (Forgot to mention, Steve Young's 2 runs were legendary.)
Those were some amazing runs. Hard to pick a favorite. Bo’s sheer speed was crazy. Walter Payton showed why they called him Sweetness. Beast Mode threw Tracey Porter out of the damn stadium. Derrick Henry was amazing. Steve Young’s run was something.
Lorenzo Neal in “93 for the Saints, then later in the list he’s busting holes open for LT for the Chargers
If there was ever a player whom I wished could have won a super bowl, he would be towards the top of the list. He made all his halfbacks better wherever he went, he was a player who was as tough as they came, and to top it off he started with the ball on the Music City Miracle play.
5:36 is a blantant face mask crazy to see how much this era of football has changed
The fact that Le'Veon Bell doesnt have any in here and he has a few highlights between 2014-2017 better than most of these runs, is pretty crazy!
2007, I was totally expecting a run from Adrian Peterson. Definitely not that run by Marion Barber that ended up going for 2 yards.
It was a great run for 2 but you look, you’ll see an obvious hold in the end zone which should’ve been result of a safety.
Marion was the first beast mode. And sad he is gone.
Can you Do a deep dive on Lorenzo O Neal? Top 5 fullback all time and I never knew he was on the saints, would be interesting to see his career retrospective
I think fullbacks are boring unfortunatly
@@Ynkno not back then
I seen him play in high school. He was our school rival, I’m from Hanford High, he couldn’t be stopped. Great to see he had an amazing NFL career.
Awesome video. I never get tired of watching Barry Sanders break ankles.
I didn’t see Cam Newton on here any where and I know he’s had a lot of dominate runs through out his career that was better than a lot of running backs
There’s something about Bo Jackson. How is a human being running like that with a helmet and pads?
I thought the same thing! Redonkulous!!!
Bruh he was so fast omfg, that shit inspired me I’ve never seen something like that
Only Bo knows.
His stride is insanely long.
It's amazing to me that Barry didn't get every single year in the 90s. He was the embodiment of a highlight reel. Loved to see the love for the great, great RBs of the Raiders in the 80s. I believe it was 2 from Marcus Allen, including the iconic Super Bowl run against Washington, and 3 from Bo including the also iconic MNF run into the tunnel.
Mostly this was an awesome video but as other have stated, a few of these runs didn't belong like the John Elway play (although impressive), and the NE run in the Super Bowl -- James White I think? The Jonathan Taylor one was nice but I'm pretty sure there were more dominant runs last year than that.
Jamal Lewis 2 years in a row post ACL. One of the most underrated backs ever, he should be in the HOF
I agree. He gets forgotten about but was so dominant when he was healthy
M. Barber with the greatest two yard run 🏃♀️ 🙌🏼
I swear, everytime I see that run from Lamar Jackson vs the Bengals in that 2019 matchup, it always looks like he takes off like a turkey from the way he sort of squats when he starts running.
1997. Really?? John Elway's 10 yd run for a 1st down was "the most dominant run" of '97?! I find that hard to believe.
Thank you ref, the run at 1:00 couldn’t have been possible without your elite blocking skills
I've probably seen that run 20 times and never noticed that.
Watching sweetness run is like poetry in motion. It’s so smooth. Like he’s floating lol
Beast Quake is the all-timer for me. He caused broken / missed tackles for 9 of the 11 players who lined up for the Saints at the start of the play. 56 and 96 for New Orleans are the only players that don't think they have him in their sights.
"Crowd silent now..."
Seconds later they are loud enough to literally shake the Earth.
I don't think you know what "literally" means.
@@isaiahayers1550 Oh, really? They call it "Beast Quake" because it caused seismic activity and registered on the Richter scale.
I’m a Saints fan and when Lynch made that touchdown the broadcast actually said the crowd made a seismic vibration
Eric Dickerson, Marcus Allen, Larry Csonka, Bo and Riggins are my favorite backs to watch all time.
Jonathan Taylor is a monster. That run in the patriots game blew the roof off that place. I’ve never seen such an explosion of excitement. #GoColts!
I love how Steve young as a qb had the most dominant run that year and he almost fell 😂
Greatest Dominated Running Back In NFL History Emmitt Smith Dallas Cowboys From The Early 90s ☺😎🏈 Thanks For Uploading
He is definitely up there in for Best RBs though I would put him behind Sanders, Payton, and Brown
@@dmar28 Oh Yeah
Great vid, missing some CJ2K though
The best thing about this list is that you know football season is on the way. Every run I wanted to see made the list 👍🏾
The Beastquake run is still my favorite, Garrison Hearst is a close 2nd
That Elway run in 97 was the "best" that year? I dunno man...I call b.s.
do you know the context?
@@mmgen1711 Yeah, he picked up a 1st down in the Super Bowl. Whoopdedo
@@SchulzEricT He was old and had lost 3 super bowls also
@@mmgen1711 I think many of us understand that this was the moment we realized Elway would not be denied. But was it the best run of the year? Maybe the most memorable, but I contend that there were more impressive runs that year.
@@robsmith961 I agree it is not the best run of the year, but I also hate people being disrespectful
While some of these may not be the best runs of the year… still a good list, and more work than I’m willing to put in to compile a ‘best of’ vid. So thanks!
Great video
Don't know who noticed but Lorenzo Neal had his own run in '93 (lined up as lead full backin a 3 point stance in an I formation) and was also the lead fullback for both LT's runs and Le'Ron McClain's run. In sight lead full backs were awesome and Lorenzo Neal=awesome runs
Neal was a great blocker for sure and didn't even remember that run he had with the Saints
Elway seems a bit overrated in this circumstance
I get Superbowl bump
But eh
Update
The james white one is much worse
That game was basically over and that was a fine run
It was the latest if the video.
In Barrie's third seasons, people were starting to catch him at the goal line. The next season, he was faster than ever. I loved seeing Sweetness. I remember that particular run.
7:43 that was easily one of my favorites. The acceleration, speed, and agility are off the charts
Also I think Marshawn Lynch turned 2D for a seccond when he tip-toed the OB line in the play at 9:47
Barry Sanders is the greatest ever. Plug him into any era and he’d be the best
Wrong Walter was better
I agree 100% bruh I always say this. I always rewatch his A Football Life, so amazing
@@nascarandrc8296 no he wasn’t Barry literally had no oline
@@topflight9182 yes he was Walter had no line either but could do more could catch like a wr was a great blocker and even could qb
@@nascarandrc8296 LOL that’s true bruh I forgot he was QB. I used to play madden ultimate team and they had a quarterback card for him. But Barry was the better RB💯and stop bruh Walter had a good team. He had a good defense some years
"Marcus Allen, running with a knight".
*running with the night
great video
It’s cool watching the tv improve over the years.
No Mike Alstott?
where is 2018 Baker running from cops
Marshawn Lynch probably had the greatest run I’ve seen in a football game, it was so complete
Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Micheal Vick leap off the screen with there speed! AMAZING!
The fact that they didn't show any of Chubb's runs (who had more than one that was BETTER than Tailor) like against, the Chargers, or even the Bengals for 2021 is such a disgrace. Dude had the best runs among rbs last years and it wasn't even close. He's ALAWAYS second in rushing too when splitting carries. He deserves respect. 💪
I was going to ask about Chubb. No respect
1988 could've been Steve Young or Roger Craig's insane run vs the Rams at Anaheim Stadium.
3:18 How have I never seen this run before? That's incredible.
Honestly, This is the Greatest Compilation of Awesome Plays by Amazing Athletes that I've EVER SEEN! Added to Playlists and Shared!
I’d have put that Alvin Kamara run against the packers where he looked like he gave no effort that was crazy
As a saints fan it was amazing and easily in my top 5 kamara plays, but I don’t think it counts as a “run” because drew threw him a screen
Honestly I thought there’d be more runs from super bowl games
Great memories...
Lynch takes the cake with the best two runs.. but I say Faulk #3, Henry #4, and Barber breaking 5 tackles in the endzone has gotta be #5.
0:26 WOW he really just said Redskins 😱
ILLEGAL
Maybe because they were the redskins prior to 2020?
@@mariosnum1fan I'm still offended 😠
Got some good runs on here, but one question?
