Let me put it like this: What would happen in the gym if refs were calling the opposite? It would be "war."
And by the way, if some player stimulates injuries, it is straight away tehnical. Especially because he got all instruction from the bench. The decision was made before the game. And it was something green with "in God we trust," which helps refs to get home happy. By the way, that 3 refs never ever was recruited to any Fiba championship after that game.

I remeber that game like it was yesterday. We managed to beat heavily favourite Spain team thanks to big balls Milos Teodosic, and then this game happened. We were so devestated that we didn't even want to play the game for 3rd place. If you look at the results of the Turkish basketball team in recent history, you will see that good results and medals were won only and exclusively when they played in Turkey at the EB 2001 and WC 2010. They never made a respectable result outside Turkey, even though they had top players and coaches. So there are all indications that this was deliberate, under pressure and that the refereeing when playing in Turkey is subordinate to the home team. All the decisions in the last minutes, from the blocking of Keselj in the downward path of the ball, through the acting of Asik, judged and unjudged fouls and the evident exit of Tuncery from the field in that last attack, directly decided the winner of this match and the participant of the final. It's a pity for the then young Serbian national team because they were literally stolen and this is perhaps the biggest shame that FIBA and the referee organization has committed against some national team at this level in recent history.

It honestly looks like refs have stolen the game from Serbia. Not saying that Turkey has bought the referees, but that referees have decided this game. Allowing Turkoglu basically 'hug' refs (WTF?) and all these honestly terrible calls (one super emotional) or calls not given when it should have been given. And when you take this into consideration, it does not sound crazy that this is one of the more controversial games ever in the World Cup history.

Up until 4th quarter you could tell refs were giving the benefit of a doubt to Turkey as the hosting team, but last few minutes were just awful. The fake injury, the fake foul and Krstic ejection, the no foul call on Velickovic, the no foul call on the inbound play, and the worst being the clear step on the line on the winning basket... Whether you think it was sponsored by the Turkish or not, it was a clear as day robbery by the refs in the final moments...

I have a fantastic question for you guys and all the viewers .
Lets say in a galaxy far far away there is a civilization like earth . but with a more advance technology than us . And some how since both worlds try to fight each other , diplomatic relations made it so the winner will be decided with a single game of basketball .world cup rules .
They also offered us since they have the technology to make any guy at an age and shape of his choosing , like make and retired guy 28 years old again with the skills ability and physicality he had at that age .
My questions so are these : First if you decide to choose a specific country team , make them in their prime again , from all times of basketbal history , which one would you choose ?
Second one , if you can make your own team by taking players from all over the world , make them young again if needed , which 12 guys would be you pick ?
And last question , who would coach them ?
