Say what you will about Don, but he always gets it right when it comes to paying tribute to those we lost!
I have a 12 year old who plays in a travelling soccer team and this is one of those scenarios that you think about and simply pray never happens. I can't begin to imagine what words are appropriate or how to react to this. All I can do is cry and mourn along with everyone else, hug my boy a little tighter and be thankful.
Such a sad loss.
Condolences.
Humboldt Broncos &
all of Canada.
From WA state.
Touching our hearts in Australia too Our thoughts are with you all
A sad day here in America too. All of us who love hockey and admired these young men are feeling much sadness in our hearts.
Baitullah UlHaq Ul Islam gtfo
+W9K no Americans were bashing us...dont be ignorant right now
TY and GB you as well~
JOHNWLOUCKS Thanks for your kindness and compassion, neighbor. The hockey family is one big family. Bless you, from Toronto, Ontario.
JOHNWLOUCKS Thank you!
I can’t belive this happened last year. It feels like it happened yesterday.
To everyone affected, you are in the hearts and thoughts of a lot of people.
I'm a Swift Current hockey fan from New York, having started following the club as a wee lad after the horrific bus accident in 1986. I actually found out about the awful Humboldt news via the SC Broncos FB page...I thought I was dreaming as I was reading as it did not seem real. My deepest sympathy goes out to the families of these young warriors, their beloved coaches, radio announcer, team statistician, and bus driver. So happy to hear that assistant coach Chris Beaudry is among the living. Praying for a complete recovery for all remaining players who are hospitalized, especially those who are facing long rehabilitations. I shall be thinking about you all. Eternal blessings to the fallen and may the hockey communities of Humboldt and greater Saskatchewan be uplifted and comforted by the faith and compassion of their fellow grieving neighbors, countrymen and members of the worldwide hockey fraternity. So sorry.
Tears still fill my eyes as I view their faces. Oh Lord, give comfort and strength to all who mourn! Thank you to everyone and to our neighbours in the United States for their heartfelt condolences.
Evy Hannes one year later they still do from Saskatchewan
I'm not sure who sent the Tweet, but its amazing how the hockey community came together for this. And I know for all Canadian's who love hockey or may not even care for hockey but were affected by the incident. But love him or hate him. Canadian hockey fans everywhere weren't waiting for anyone else, not the Prime Minister, or even all the Coach's around the NHL...but Don Cherry to speak on the situation. And he did it right. Like I said, love him or hate him. This was special. And even though we are two months removed from this. This will never be forgotten. #HumboldtStrong
Who would have thought these two legends would be doing some of their best work on covering this story in my hometown? The very town that I watched the Leafs on Hockey Night In Canada with my dad and taking my first sip of beer. I hope Don and Ron can forgive each other too and be remembered for what wonderful memories they brought to our living rooms each week. They will always be attached to each other especially on a cold Saturday night somewhere in Canada. Cheers!
They left out Dayna Brons, the lone woman aboard the Humboldt Broncos' team bus when it collided with a transport truck on April 6. She has since passed away. Family and friends had been waiting anxiously, hoping the 25-year-old athletic trainer would pull through after she suffered serious head trauma, relative Dale Brons told The Canadian Press on Tuesday April 10.
However, on Wednesday afternoon, her family confirmed in a statement that she had died peacefully.
"She was surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her," the statement said. "Dayna will be forever remembered for her joyful smile, and her passion and love of sport."
There are no words ...
not just a sad day for the hockey world but for all of sports world wide - to all the families affected - thoughts and prayers from all over saskatchewan and around the world keep pouring in !
As a writer, I have done a great deal of research on this tragic event and I am very sad to have to tell you that I discovered a lot of disturbing information since. Firstly, the accident itself happened for one simple reason, the man driving the truck ran a stop sign. I don't know why that information seems to be hidden from people but I've never once heard that point brought up in any news coverage or even trial coverage. But worse is that here in Canada we have a very dangerous thing going on with trucks, drivers and companies which involved drivers on our roads who are not qualified to drive large trucks in the first place! If you do a simple google search on truck accidents in Canada involving deaths, you will find that 90% of the drivers are "newcomers" to Canada. And those people are cheating or falsifying their documents in order to secure truck driving jobs. I have spoken to people in the industry and they are in a near panic about this trend and our roads are becoming more and more dangerous. If you live in a community with roundabouts, have you noticed that there are a lot of accidents on those roundabouts involving trucks? Same reason and the drivers are almost all newer drivers and immigrants. I am afraid that due to the political sensitivities involved, this information is being kept from the public. But if you do your own research, you will undoubtedly come to the same conclusions as I did. Be careful on the roads and keep your distance from the trucks!
So sad to see Don as quiet and reserved as this. This really hit him hard. I've worked with him in real life and he's ALWAYS got a ton to say, and is loud about it too. He was really at a loss for words here. Sending positive vibes to the families and friends of these kids. RIP.
A very, very sad day in Canadian hockey history.
more like hockey history
Just a sad day for Canada.
Baitullah UlHaq Ul Islam you are sick you ignorant piece of shit. It was an accident and you should have some respect you sick sick piece of crap. Have some respect for these lives that were lost way too soon
Baitullah UlHaq Ul Islam what kind of loser are you. You're not welcome on this channel and we don't want you here, so once more take a hint and get lost.
Jimiel Joseph I’m Canadian and at my school we are all wearing hockey shirts jerseys. If you that have a jersey or hockey shirt you wear green
I wonder why they missed Dayna Bron the physio trainer that was the only woman on the bus who also passed away in this horrific accident RIP Humbolt Broncos

daryl hodkinson it is hard to watch anything on this tragedy, without tears in my eyes. So very sad.
It wasn’t just men, they had a female athletic therapist named Dayna Brons who also passed away in the crash, she survived the crash but passed away a few days later in hospital, they just forgot her picture so sad
Couldn't imagine,....waiting at a rink where your son is to play.....cousin,....brother....nephew.......and getting that call/finding out that you'll never see them again. Hard on the heart......goodbye is so tough, but when you don't have the chance to say it.....weights heavily! Sad.

9 dislikes terrible god bless these great people thanks for this
Dayna Brons, their cross trainer was on the bus when this accident happened and as a result she died from her injuries. Not a single mention of her on this tribute. Some one should have notified the person who made the video.
A sad day for Canada, and therefore the world...
As a hockey dad, this is the worst thing that could ever happen and I she'd tears for all of the people who died and the families that loved them. Sticks on my porch 💔
I’m so sorry
My sincerest condolences to the family's and loved ones. you'll be in my prayers. Rest in piece. And may god be with you all.
Not to takeaway what he’s, Saturday’s are just not the same without him.
Our prayer's and condolences to family and friends, and to the community of Humboldt; though I know this tragedy is hitting hearts from coast to coast.
Right on Boys!
Thx. From Sk ♡
Such a tragic accident for everyone. God Bless You All in your healing.
How could someone dislike this video! Smh
Here as well.
One SJW bitch from Quebec is already saying on social media that the overwhelming grief for the victims is only because they were white. That's what society has come to in 2018.
Be strong from Woodbridge Ontario
RIP
They left out the only female on the bus Dayna Brons. She remains in hospital.
Nadine Arcand
And, unfortunately, she passed away this morning :(
Heartbreaking for the parents of these kids who dreamt about making pro one day. Thoughts and prayers to them
Miss my old coach Darcy
Bless you Boys...
💔💔💔
This is going to make history
#SticksOutForHumboldt
Very nice. Peace to the families.
james alexander “very nice.” wtf man
Draco. Very nice tribute. Showing them as a team and not who lived and who passed on. I said peace to the families.. How can you find anything negative in anything i wrote ? Cherry and Mclean are a class act to show the team undivided and not fallen or broken. They won as a team and they have lost as team. Very nice tribute.
a sad day in Canada . in hockey in everything may flights of angels sing these boys to their rest. we are #humboldtstrong
this is the sddest thing ive ever seen
Rip boys much love
today we are all broncos
What class you have Don Cherry GOD Bless You
RIP.
They didn’t put the picture up of the athletic therapist Dayna Brons she also passed away in the accident!
So sad.
Trying to think of something to say....still have no words.
The donations flood in, ceremonies are had. The anniversaries will come as they always do. And nothing will change. Our empty empathy and false respect for each other will continue. How about we pull our heads out of our asses and start to treat each other better all the time. Not just when tragedy motivates it
Nobody ever mentions the bus driver, Glen Doerksen. He deserves to be in the tribute. Fucking disgusting. He's a human, too.
Can't even watch. Thoughts to all these families.
I say forfeit the season and give the Broncos the Championship.
...sundown in the Paris of prairie.......gutted
betteryoubetter brought me to tears the day Gord died. Once again watching this video.
Still upset that within this tragedy that everyone is still forgetting the bus driver too
I just put my stick outside the front door! Sending prayers from Manitoba! #sticksoutforhumbolt
So tragic
Sad day in Canada.
Unfortunately, their physical therapist has passed as a result of her injuries in the crash. God Bless you all.
So a trucking co. hired a 21 year old who ran a stop sign.
The company is Adesh Deoi Trucking.
Wow, he was 21??
God bless
You forgot about Dayna Broyns the trainer , she was the only female on the bus.
A picture of the young female trainer who lost her battle and passed making her the 16th casualty was not pictured here, :(
Our loss.
Why didn’t you show their trainer Dayna or the bus driver? They both passed away as well... such a heartbreaking situation.
The bus driver not only didn't pass away, he was essentially unharmed.
@@treygray2817 No, he did die. I am referring to the hockey team’s bus driver… not the transport truck who hit them.
@@treygray2817 I should have been more specific. Glen Doerksen, 59 years old, was the driver of their bus, who worked for Charlie's Charters in Tisdale, Sask. He is remembered for his passion for hockey and for being "a great family man."
@@J-B-P You're right, I forgot it was a truck, not a bus they collided with. My apologies.
@@treygray2817 No worries. Easy mistake to make.
we live in a world with no rules or safety nets and time to time we'll have extremely rare freak accidents from vehicles or planes or machines
a world of suffering is just a daily routine
Wheat Kings... RIP
the 39 people that thumbs down this video are all wrong.
Disappointed the bus driver and Women therapist were not included in this
No picture of the girl who just passed away today :(
You what the saddest thing about all of this is. The fact that just the other day I heard that a bus in India crashed and killed all 24 people on board and saw nothing on the news. I understand that these were kids and rip to all of them but seriously, this is one screwed up society. Not to mention the fact that this truck driver is being talked about in such a negative light, you think he woke up that morning and wanted to kill 15 kids?
No pic of the bus driver?
The video is from the day after the accident, so they didn't have any at the time. They have a picture of him on their web site now: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/bus-driver-killed-humboldt-glen-doerksen-1.4610652
#humboldtstrong💛💚
Teammates
Very sorry for this loss. Nothing could have saved them from a transport truck Tboning a Tour bus. There are however preventable safety measures that everyone should bare in mind when booking tour buses or putting their children on school buses of any kind. Make sure they have lap and shoulder belts installed. The newer buses are legislated in Canada to have them and the new coaches come with them installed but the older ones did not come with them installed and are not required to at this point by law. When you are booking a tour bus request the bus with the shoulder and lap belt. Safety First for this precious cargo. Email Justin Trudeau re this. ALL buses regardless of their age should be made to equip them with lap and shoulder belts and if they are unable to be retrofitted then they Should be taken off the road.
50hellkat2 email justine trudeau he is busy installing seatbelts in muslims busses .
cathy9160lol
Why was the athletic therapist Dayna Brons not mentioned she is hospital and was also on the bus.
😭😭
They forgot the trainer.
#putyoursticksout
R.I.P. Boys!
