Yes the Moi era was a disaster. This mess will not only be expensive to correct but also very painful because demolition will be the only way out for some of these so called investments which are nothing but an eyesore. I grew up in Jericho and we had more open spaces than Buruburu.
Great piece Kenyan historian. History should teach us, if only we cared. I am ashamed at the generation that messed this up, with little care for our children and generations that are yet to come. We thrive in disorder, shame😭😭
I spent sometime living in Jericho 40 years ago. It was breathtaking, I was in hog heaven living there. We lived in Kinangop and my mother was transferred to the Clinic in Jericho as a nurse. We also lived in Jerusalem. I now wonder how Jerusalem looks like?
You need to visit pipeline, the area is full of residencial apartments, there is no open spaces or playing grounds, No public schools, No public hospitals
Private public partnership is the only way out guys... Let the private developers build at most a five storey apartments and a cooperation be created for the maintenance of the estate. Nairobi is growing and a two storey residential building with such a prime land can't add up kabisa... Change the zoning laws in Jericho for residential buildings
Kenyan historian the person dealing with Subtitles needs to be more keen in his/her translations and meanings. For example kuna place one of the respondents talks about “fences on the road” and the subtitle is written as “Lenses on the road”. Am sure not only Kenyans will watch this and not all understand Swahili so the Subtitles should be on point. Just a constructive criticism. The documentary is lit i dint know what I know now. Thumbs up.
@12:35 umesema 30 decades. Proof-read your voice-over scripts. ** Nairobi population is now beyond 3m. Time for redesign of old council estates. Pointless in basking in their former glory.
The Moi era did alot of damage to this country. It will be very difficult and expensive to correct his administrations mistakes.

Moi left power 20 years ago, Jericho's down spiral has been in the last 15 years for those of us born there.
