- Hey there NaviUpgrade viewers! I've finally upgraded a Ford F150 to have Sync 3! This video will show you everything you need to know about upgrading your 2015-2017 Ford F150 from the base 4" Sync system to Sync 3.

Great video. I do have a question, if I already have an aftermarket backup camera wired into the backup lights can I just plug it into the camera RCA jack in the harness? And... how does the unit know when the vehicle is in reverse?
Hey there! Absolutely. It knows it's in reverse via the CANBUS network!
The interior looks exactly like my dad’s 17’ model. Does the “Texas Edition” badge change anything from the base model? Also do you think that I, a 17 year old whose about to inherit the truck, could pull this upgrade off if i order everything from you?

How do I upgrade my speakers in 2019 explorer? I have no bass thumping at all. Guess very basic is installed.

Great vid. One question - The original front faceplate trim you start with is without seat warmers. The one you replace it with has seat warmer buttons. Is it okay to replace with a different configured trim/controls just knowing that those buttons will never actually do anything?
It’s okay it won’t hurt anything . My Taurus doesn’t heated seated seats . The heated seat icon will come on but if your vehicle isn’t wired for heated seats it won’t do anything .
I have a factory sync 3 8” screen to replace my 4” screen! Would I only have to buy the harness? Also the link is broken for the harness

Hey there. I am adding an HD/Sat ACM with my install. I see in the video where you talk about the connection on the harness for that. Does that replace the factory connection? Do I leave the factory connector unplugged and tucked loose back in the dash?

Hey Chris. It's only necessary to replace the factory connection with ours if you plan on paying for Sirius XM **WITH Sirius Travel Link**. If you don't plan on paying for or using Travel Link we'd recommend using the factory connection.

Yes, you can enable or disable massage seats(Multi-contoured Seats) feature in the following bit using FORScan.

Hey I had sync3 installed on my 2017 Ford F-150 base model with 4x4,everything works fine for me but the only issue I have is when some1 calls me they can’t hear me at all, I mean do I have to do something with the mic? Get a harness or whatever?!

would an APIM from a 2018 f150 work for this in a 2016 f150?
Yes, 2018 APIM will work in 2016 - 2017 F150. The only difference is 2018 APIM has 2 extra lines 7D0-08-01 and 7D0-08-02. You will see those 2 lines in FORScan when you will program the 2018 APIM for your 2016 F150. Those 2 lines are not used in 2016 and 2017 F150s. Just leave those 2 lines as is and do not modify them.
Do you have a 4” to Sync 3 for Ford Escape SE 2015?
I do indeed. Just no video on it as it's not as straightforward and requires dash modification to correctly work
Mine keeps saying audio off, any idea why?
Something is up with your audio control module (CD player). Either it's failing, which is somewhat common, or a wire has come loose or broken in the loom. I'd guess answer #1 though
What if you don't have a back up cam
You can add one or disable it in the FORScan drop down programming menu. Our harness now supports factory backup cameras without any additional pigtail harnesses. If you want to add an aftermarket camera it's as easy as installing the camera and plugging it into the RCA port on the harness
I have a 2015 with no sync, can I do this without sync from the factory?
I have made an addon harness to achieve this but I haven't found a vehicle to test this with, so I'm not quite comfortable sending it out until I find a vehicle to test on locally :( any chance you're in the Los Angeles area?

Why when I get a phone call I can’t hear them?
Go to Bluetooth settings and change the ringtone to default I believe and that should fix that
@@NaviUpgrade sorry I meant that when someone calls me I answer the phone call but then when they talk I can’t hear them talking.

Hi, I would like to the same on my 2014 F350 in Australia. I can purchase an upgrade kit in Australia with Australian maps but the APIM is a Ford European made in Czech Republic. My question is can I overwrite the vehicle specs with forscan and still keep the Australian maps or will I lose all. The APIM part number is: HJ5T-14G370-KDB for a ford Kuga / Escape. Thanks
