I want him to narrate my life... o_o
Ahaha then you can talk to me about your life to start! 😁
I miss this show.. Where are you taiyo mayu mochi saaan!
Your videos came up just when I needed them the most, the main idea of my comic was starting to fade while I was forcing it to be more interesting. Keep the good work thank you.
This series has been really interesting; I hope you'll continue it again soon!
Miss you a lot guys :(
Thank you Mocchi and Mayu! I am one of those with too many ideas and for a while I struggled with summarizing them. Thanks to your advice, I realized refining ideas are encouraged and it helps to narrow down into the main idea. I start to reach out to talk about my story more and it really helps.
I remember someone pitching a laundry-sport competition anime on twitter 😁 everyone loved it
Oh my I wanna read a manga on that too!!!! 😂 Hope that person creates it!
Thank you for making these. It's so easy to understand for beginner like me
شكرا ♥♥
This video not only educational but also entertaining 😆😂
This is interesting! Picking ideas is many things to create good oneshot! :)
Having this exact problem! Thank you for this! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you !
Our pleasures!
"In a paleo indian world where mystical beasts eat people, a boy risks his life to find his tribe new sources of food."
I can't wait for you guys to came back! Working on my manga and reading others honestly brings me so much joy and you guys defiantly help with that. Could you mabey touch on narrowing down the main plot? Right now my story is all over the place with many diffent "plot points" we'll call them, and I'm not sure witch to focus on. Is it possible to do all simultaneously?
"Fishermen groups compete on the most dangerous seas" - sounds simple enough :]
aha that is what we call a "setting". What will the fishermen do? 😋 is it instantly feel-able?
It's based on a story I learned when studying leadership-economy. Basically they are out to get each other and score more fish every day. One day a storm is brewing and one of the rival's boat's fisherman falls after locking the sales. The other boat hears over the radio "Man overboard! Man overboard!!" and the captain decides to go and try to save the man even though it means risking his and his crew's lives for their rival's crew member. At the end you see them all wet and bruised up but a million times more fulfilled than on a day where they got a giant haul of fish :]
"the captain of a fishing boat, goes to rescue a fallen man from the rival's boat, amid a wild thunderstorm"
This is the simplifed "WHO does WHAT" form ;) Now even though it sounds like a heart warming tale, it still lacks emotional excitement.
Can you make it, "The world's BRAVEST captain/WEAKEST captain/'Scrooge McDuck' like mean captain"? Can you IMAGINE if it were you, why would you do it?
How about "BIGGEST Thunderstorm ever to hit humanity?" "Ships must leave within next 30mins otherwise BIGGER storm will hit the area, killing everyone" ? What would make someone take such RISKS?
hints hints 😋!
Even though other fishermen are also important, make it a story of ONE MAN and see from his perspective, is another hint 😁!
I guess I am imagining this as a story in the more realistic "alternative" genre of manga :/
But I can already see how to change the story around this "the most ___" idea.
Thanks a lot :]
good advice, thank you! Arigato! Shokran !
ahaha such a simple tip but I feel many of SMA entries could have helped themselves with just this simple tip.
hope it helps you😁 Merhaba!
Enrico at the end made me lol
Ahahah, happy to read this! 😄
Maybe I should change job and try to be a comedian in Russia! 😝
Came back to watch this again.. im totally blank.. but oh well,
@3:49 Mayu, you're talking about my life story lol
yei!
And that explains why that plot bunny that's been stalking me hasn't quite worked: I've got about half of the idea: the "who" but not quite the "what"
got it!
and we got it you got it! 😋
Im gonna watch the whole tutorial because im planning to join maybe next year. By the way, how many SMA do you do every year? thanks
Happy to read this!! :D We do 2 rounds every year, PLUS some potential EXTRA round ^^ Take a look of our website to get a better idea of SMA and SMA rounds
got it. Thank you! expect me on 2nd round next year haha. I need to finish my studies first even tho i dont really want to do that ahaha
Woow me too o think I should get ready
I like to think that if you can't sum up your story in one sentence, you're failing at something.
I have a silly question, do you guys make SMAC for every country or it's just for japan?
I think it's worldwide, you can see eveeything in their website
Hi there again! I had previously asked a detailed question on my manga a few months back this year and you guys really helped me out, so I have another question:
If you've seen the manga initial d which I believe you're likely familiar with, the author uses cars in the manga, not made up cars such as when copyrighted things like youtube are used but, actual existing brands. You can probably tell where I'm going with this. I'm curious as to whether or not we need to get permission from these brands to use their models in our stories. Because currently I am developing a manga lightly inspired by initial d. However here is my next concern:
Are we allowed to use cgi in our manga? If this confuses you allow me to rephrase, you once told me creativity in manga is something that shouldn't limit "how" I layout or "present" it, so am I allowed to take an extra leap and use a 3d sculpting software to implement images in my manga? I feel like it would be very effective and far more practical as I not only suck at drawing cars by hand, it would take far more time than is acceptable, and manga us as you know time sensative.
So to summarize, would I need permission to use different brands of cars in a manga, or is it possible that I simply give them credit where expected? I'd think addressing the brand in the manga through the characters would in itself already be crediting the brand.
Lastly, is using 3d modelling rather predominantly in certain areas allowed
Basically, make sure to do just one simple thing before you write a whole compelx story, a Storyline. The core of the story in no more than 2 or 3 lines. And then show or tell that story line to some people.
i have an idea for a manga: "it's about a pervy mage that goes to high school. he only wants to live a simple life, but unfortanetly gets involved in allot of high school drama with other mages and vampires." ///I could go more in depth but i'm not sure if it's necessary.
The story has already potential! :) Why don't you join our SMA8 round and try to insert your characters and manga plot into the FAIR PLAY theme??
"gets involved in allot of high school drama with other mages and vampires." That really is the core of entertainment here ;) At this moment I can't tell if it's good or not. Do your ideas tickle other people's interest? Do you have ACTUAL EVENTS that happens between the characters? Food for thought ;)
My friend has been trying and trying and trying to research what you need/to do in order to start a manga publishing company with no success. :( Any ideas?
Kyrst O'Keefe He needs to create or get someone to make a hit manga for his manga
Tripledose 4life - That makes no sense.
Kyrst O'Keefe ok my bad let me rephrase it. What I meant that is when you start a publishing company its usually hard because the competition is crazy. So now if you could just write that one story or create it. That gets you some attention. Then you'll have other mangakas who are willing to work with you. For example, the rapper dr. Dre was with NWO which was first a small and not well known group but when they became very well known and dre decided to make his own label there were many other rappers who wanted to sign to his label. Why? Because he has worldwide attention and status.
Tripledose 4life - Ooooh, ok. Thanks for explaining. We would love to get his manga published, but that usually requires knowing the Japanese language. But we'll look into self/indie publishing (without a proper publishing company) and see if it is or will be possible for us.
Kyrst O'Keefe It sounds pretty interesting and make sure you start with a oneshot first. I myself have written two oneshots
Expose your story in a storyline it's the same?
