i think nostalgia module is the same - you can buy for eurorack if you're into that.

I remember first encountering Dreadbox at a music show at the Arsenal Football stadium in London years ago and fell in love with the Erebus v2 that they had on display. So glad it's got a new lease of life in this reissue, still got my OG one!
Edit: USB powered?? What witchcraft is this?

My first Dreadbox purchase and I love the sounds coming out of my ready built Erebus very easy to find so many different nice awesome sounds. Just a shame I am still learning patching, did copy the 3 patched cables above, also tried to work out patching from the old Erebus videos V1-3, but got in a mess. Also failed at getting Logic Pro Sequencer to play the dreadbox, but no joy, maybe it needs a USB cable, or my brain could do with a large update. End of the day, can't stop playing with the box, now saving for a Hades. Cheers Dreadbox, nice one!

Any chance you guys can give us the option to slow the sequence wayyyy down on the typhon. Maybe somehow on a firmware update.? I would love to just slow it down to 20bpm. Ambient purposes. Love u guys

Hi! I have the DIY version. I really enjoy the lo-fi aspect of the delay, but mine seems to be noisier than the ones I've seen online. Basically, mine has so much ground noise that the noise overtakes the synth's sound in the delay line. Or even when I do not play the synth, it keeps building upon its noise own floor. Is there a remedy for this? Additionally, when I use the built-in MIDI interface of the unit, pitch and envelope wheels produce this high-pitched crackle-like noise. Do you have any idea what might be causing it?

I have the original. I do have to tune It a lot, during use depending what octave I'm playing.
    Faster, snappier envolopes are cool.
If the delay is less noisy, also cool ... could help when making more subtle sweeter sounds.
Lines, markers at the tuning knobs to switch instant to a fifth would be handy.
Not that It is impossible to do that yourself.
Colors on the patchbay help to not put out to out.
But It's easier to put an in to an in, when patching very fast, and with more synths
there is no warning that that is a problem in the manual.
Can you poly chain this with the older Erebuses?
That would be cool. I Scrolled through the manual.
But don't see anything about polychain.
If the tuning over octaves is better, this one would be better for arpeggios.

How do you keep the oscillators' pitch from drifting apart as you move up the keyboard? I always have to keep retuning them unless they're in sync mode. This doesn't happen on my Moog for instance.

If you bought it used you'll have to calibrate it. Refer to the manual. You need a voltage multimeter and a guitar tuner.

    Can you help.
My Erebus reissue doesn't track correctly and is out of tune over an octave and worse at two. What do I do with it.

It lacks of scales around knobs, useful thing when there's no display

Do you need to open the case again to calibrate if it goes out of tune?

    • @Dreadbox-synths
      @Dreadbox-synths  Před rokem +1

Yes, you have to remove it from its case. You will find 2 trimmers for each oscillator on the pcb. One for Tune and one for Scale.
