- Watch the latest Hexbug NITRO race against the Nano V2s and original Nano V1s to find which type is the fastest overall.
Watch the three teams race against each other in identical Nano race Tracks.
The original Nano V1s had Track that was all grey.
The Nano V2s have white track.
The Nano Nitros have blue Track.
...I mostly have grey track!
I realise after re-watching that some of my 'starts' are not perfect. However, if you watch closely they are pretty good! (I do this sort of thing a fair amount!) ...also, in each race the winner won by a decent amount and certainly far more than any 'start defect' would account for.
If you watch the whole video you will see that all Nano's are not the same, but that each type of Nano has the ability to get its head down and race! (Less oscillation generally makes for a good racer but a rubbish maze solver!!)
I don't like having only one type of nano Hexbug. A bit of variety is always nice!
I will ensure to have a good mix in the next maze race.
You always put v2s and v1s in your mazes anyway!
The hexbug nano flash: im bouta end this mans whole career
I like your content😊
Nice to see Nano's bac :)
I remember there were Race V1's with plastic outer shells , i guess that would make them have less resistance and gain some advantage in such type of race?
Just wanted to ask , do you plan any reviews of the new Nano Space?
Yes, I will be reviewing all the Nanp Space sets once I have them in my hands!
Ha! You have a good memory.
Since HexBug decided to withdraw the RaceWay set and its special nano's I felt I could not keep racing them in new videos as it was unfair to people to see something they can no longer buy.

great video! i prefer the original nanos but those nitro are pretty fast i must say.
Thanks! Truth ne told, I also prefer the original Nanos!
(The new Space series are goimg nack to the original nanos with them wearing space suits!!)
ahhhhh...cool a Hexbug race. This is very cool. So many viewer and sub's want to see this; me too ^^
It took me a while to figure out how to release three at the same time!! 😜😊😅
You're back!
Will the next race have y pieces and bugs in the same grey track?
Yes! Now I have my new bigger rectangular table, I have room to make a nice maze race 🏁
Cool! Now we will get to see it in action. Yeah!
I have SOOoooo many Y peices now!! (Been bidding for more on eBay)
And don't forget, if you do put on the space suit, the nano will always go in circles
Thanks loop
Memories
Hi Iove your vids
Shucks and many thanks. Glad you like them. 😃
woah. nitro left them all in the dust.
They are pretty fast!
Could you race the V2 that was so fast against the fastest Nitro?
They will be in other videos together.
Could even be a new type of Nano racing with the advent of Nano Drive...
If you can count how many nanos you have, can you tell me?
Circa 165...
Also did you get the nano space sets yet? (There not that good, also don't put on their space suits, it'll ruin the nanos
No not yet...
Really - how do the space suits ruin the Nanos ? 😬
Loved this video, any more mazes incoming?
Thanks! Yes. Now I have my new rectangular table I can go about and design a new large maze with all three types of Nano's!
OK, actually watching this video got me thinking of programming some kind of 'bug' simulator...
Great idea! - FYI - check out HexBugs own, they did have a Nano Track App some while back...
Can't seem to find it, however I have almost finished the app...
FYI - It is called the hexbug nano havoc game.
I want to do a Halloween hex bug track where u have to get into the pumpkins 🎃
Interesting idea!
I have not enough time for this year. Maybe next year. I will try to buy a nice pumpkin bucket that I can modify!!
Cool
Thanks!
Do you have any Y pieces, I don't own any
Yeah. I have been collecting Y pieces.

About another 8 onto of these!!
And every time it hits the side of the hex cell, it makes a loud noise, and it might fall offf
If u don't know we're that part is, it's were you put the raindeer ears and the bunny ears on the nano
Ok. So they rest / clip onto the neck part of the Nano.
Wow
Please review a hexbug scarab
I admit I have been enjoying these reviews and all partially because I have actually started to get re-interested in these, even though it's hard to find around where I live, Though I know before I buy many/more sets, I will need to see if I can find a reliable way to make it so V1's can work in V2/Nitro parts, since I have almost all V1 Hexbugs, and just recently a single NItro, though only V1 Habitat parts
There certainly is something fascinating about their random / swarm behaviour.
HexBug are launching a new ' Space' series that use V1 nanos. So soon there will be an abundance again in stores.
I have tried modifying V1s to climb with only limited success.
A foam pad on their backs helps, but does not solve the problem for long.

I actually have a question, I have been bringing them out of where I had them stored, and well, the batteries seem dead, I go to replace them but..as I open them up, test, some of them actually have quite full batteries still it seems, though some of them for some reason the motor or the way it behaves its just -slow- compared to others, Like I have one that, I had adjusted the battery, and it actually ran at an 'okay' speed, put in a new one and it takes off like a shot, but some of these are behaving as if I didn't replace the battery at all, running slow or just the same as before I replaced the battery.
Do you know of a way to check if the batteries I am taking out are actually bad, or, maybe how to fix/improve the connection for the motor so it can actualyl get up to speed rather then act like it's ...well, 90 years old and out on a casual stroll?
What I think has happened is that the side spring needs a bit more force touching and holding the battery in place.
What I sometimes have to do is to get a small flat head screwdriver underneath the side spring and force it away from the wall of the hexbug and in towards the middle area where the battery would be. Be careful and gentle, only needs a small amount of force to make the spring bend outwards more. This then grips the battery better and you get a good contact. Try that and let me know.
Have a look at 1:00 onwards for a close up:

I tried this, and well, it did make a better battery connection that helped a little, but after checking, I think this one might just for some reason have a slow or weak motor in it, because it can't right itself if it falls over, and still isn't anywhere near the speed of some of the others that are far mor lively, with new batteries, or..the one that is strangely hyper even with the old battery. Though as it might be, might be a 'bad' motor, as I assume thats with this pink one I got, that I claimed was my grandma's ..and sadly its motor is so weak it can -barely- move...like it's super slow, as in a few seconds to move an inch or two.
Alas, does sound like it is the motor.
Not a lot you can do with that. (Unless you have another damaged Nano and can use it for parts).
Some of my very old ones make lots of noise and eat batteries twice as fast as a normal Nano.
They end up being spectators...
Please do it my son loves it
My daughter would like to see a conga line race
Not sure what that would look like...
Is it multiple Nanos all on the same track?
(Mightn’t the faster ones be pushing the slower ones?)
I actually did that with the Zuru Hamsters 🐹 video...
And the rare orange
Someimes the nanos are the same from the last one
They skrape the sides of the nano
No ntro nitro
Thanks. Done. ✅
Set
I only have 18
18 is plenty!!
I only have so many because I like to make monster mazes and have become a bit of a collector of all types.
